Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Gamestop beat them out this week regarding the Tax Season sales. Plain & Simple.
For example - Xcom 2 Digital Deluxe for $25.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning for $5. According to Store Parser, this hasn’t seen a sale price since 2016. Hopefully a sign that it’ll go BC this week
Ain't no way. Ain't no stinking way.

Maybe if I deny it enough it will come true.

I think we'll see even EA sports games and Kinect games before we see this one go BC.

Is it working?

You can't just play the last game in the trilogy, you'd be missing all the important events from 1 and 2!

In seriousness though, Skate 3 just improved everything over 2 (never played 1), so there's no point going back to play an older entry
Dunno about that, always felt Skate 2 was a better game than Skate 3. None of the online is there anymore. Skate 1 is what it is is, really interesting made a lot more people show up at the Band of Horses show.

I have Skate 3 in my backlog. Been meaning to try it out. For those fans of the series are Skate and Skate 2 worth playing if you have 3? Thoughts?
I would say try out Skate 3 for a few and see if you like it, if so Skate 2 is def worth picking up. You will know right away if the series is for you or not. It's kind of hard to go from 3 to 2, but I really like 2 a lot. Then again I like that series a lot. I really wish they would just announce 4 for the current gen already...

Skate 2 vs 3 is almost like the traditional Burnout vs Burnout Paradise I suppose, where Paradise is great Skate 3 went a lot more open world and wasn't

The movie promo where you buy 5 movies for $5 and get a $25 gift card is back. I remember everyone last year having trouble getting Microsoft to honor it, so I'm staying away from it, but anyone else feeling brave can try it.

Worked for me last year.

If they were part of Movies Anywhere I'd think about it.

I didn't have an issue last year. My issue is that I forget that I've seen or own half these movies already and are going to wind up double buying something I already have...

Are people that stupid to think he has any say?
They also don't understand that the issues with the games getting taken down is music licensing so yeah they probably do.

Link?

Edit: NVM, it's at the top of the movies section.

Wish the selection was bigger, but Moonlight is an incredible film.

I really want an One X after making the jump to 4K but I'm still waiting for a decent deal on it that isn't gift cards or an extra controller.

Also: Crackdown backwards compatible!! Now we need part 2 while we wait for 3

Yay for Crackdown but was hoping for Kingdoms of Amalur. Maybe Thursday.

Oh and didn’t see that today’s and all future backwards compatible games will be X enhanced. THAT is awesome!!!

I was awestruck by the fact that they added an Xbox One X setting to the old 360 dashboard. There are still people coding for the 360 dashboard!!!

Isn't Forza Horiza delisted?  Why are they enhancing a delisted game?  I appreciate anything that's free, but I just don't understand how this stuff works sometimes.  It seems like they could put those resources towards something people could purchase, etc.

I love my asian copy of Crackdown with a completely different cover by Monkey Punch (of Lupin III fame):

Maybe enhancing Horizon wasn't as difficult or time consuming as one might think.

LOLWAT?!! That looks neat. Do most games have different covers in different regions?
They used to differ quite a bit, with Japan often going for a classier, more subtle approach to artwork. Japanese Gamecube games came in an entirely different case, much smaller than the standard DVD one. I'm not sure if there's much difference nowadays.

Here's a link to a feature on Hardcore Gaming 101: Japanese Artwork of Western Games

Another favorite of mine is the japanese cover for Perfect Dark (N64):

Thanks, but I don't see where it says all future bc titles will be enhanced. Am I missing something?
Crap, you’re right, I misread the article when it said “Starting today, four new Xbox 360 titles will be enhanced for Xbox One X”. I missed the “four” thinking it was starting today new titles would be enhanced.

Sorry for the fake news!

It's available physically, so people can get it. They'd just be SOL for the DLCs.

Perhaps they used FH as a benchmark for the enhancement process, making comparisons to FH3 and FM7, particularly with how the car models look.

I’ve heard FH looks really good with the enhancements. Can’t wait to check these all out tonight.

bought a copy of Kingdoms of Amalur from my local store so that should confirm that it never goes Backwards Compat
I know others have been discussing this possibility but I'm quoting you since you're the most recent. Is there a precedent for games with developers that went through what 38 Studios did if a game can be made BC or is BC all up to the publisher? I feel like it would be impossible but if they can still sell the game on the 360 I hope I'm way off.

Holy crap! Just saw some screenshots from FH, Crackdown and the Witcher 2 over on ResetERA from the X enhancements. Gorgeous!

Just awesome that Microsoft cares enough about its base to do this stuff.

Also, isn’t Kingdoms of Alamur an EA game? They do have a good track record with BC. I’m hoping that they didn't announce it today because maybe it isn’t X enhanced and they wanted to bundle those games together.

Still have my fingers crossed for Thursday.

that was my thought as well, the game is still for sale as is all of the DLC so it seems as if EA would be in a position to put it up on BC, when EA purged online passes they did it with Amalur as well so its not as if they ignore the games existence

Well Crackdown brings my BC count up to 172 with 118 games left in my digital 360 collection. Looking at what's left, there are a lot of game that I don't think will make the cut. Would love to see a few small forgotten games make it like Cloning Clyde or Wik: Fable of Souls.

With all of you on Kingdoms of Amalur, It still goes on sale on steam so someone has to have access and approval of that somewhere.

Had to stop and try and remember if I beat Crackdown 1 or 2 since they are basically the same damn game and I did beat one of them and the answer is...I have no idea,

I’m glad the March Gamepass additions were revealed ahead of time. I would’ve been pretty pissed had I bought Super Lucky’s Tale on sale two days before it became free.

Score!

I had Crackdown in my queue waiting to download.  Apparently I snagged it back in 2013 when it was a GWG freebie.  Also Fable is in GamePass (loaded up a year with the $5 deal a few weeks back), Witcher 2 was a free giveaway back in january 2016, and Forza Horizon was also a GWG back in 2016.  So I now have access to 4 X1X enhanced games for $0 today.  Life is good!
