Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Happen to agree on this one. Think it’s going to be the link on Xbox.com but it’s some cheesy site. Have to wonder if it’s a sponsored link that they’re earning for each click or something. Not cool.

Have no idea if this is any good but if you have Amazon Prime, there’s some kind of 30 minute Far Cry 5 movie:

Chill the hell out man. If you don't like people attempting to contribute to the thread, go troll over at reddit.
No, it's bullshit. Twice now. It's not like you can buy on different marketplaces anyways and get it on your regular account.

Random thought, but I wish more games ripped off the Nemesis Systen from Shadow of Mordor/Shadow of War. I Was thinking of that mixed with something like a wrestling game would be goddamn amazing. Like a legit story mode where wrestlers have their own personalities and attributes like if you were to go into a feud with someone and keep losing to them, you gain their respect and you'd have a tag team form. Or if you beat someone's ass with a steel chair long after a match is over, they'll be put on the shelf and when they return they'll constantly be interfering in your matches and costing you titles.

Also I did my taxes today. What a Mar10 Day!
Everyone seemed to think that was going to be the next big thing in games and I can't think of any games that have tried to do it. It could exttend the single player aspect of so many genres. I want somehing like a "Dark Souls" type where if you eff up on some dumb skeleton it removes it from the area and now it's some uber bastard later down the road.

Wasn't there a WWF game like that on the original XBOX? You could gain enemies who would constantly interfere and you could start dating relationships with the Divas

My favorite wrestling game of all time is WWE all stars a blast with 4 players, still have it on 360, needs to be BC

I didn't follow your whole conversation thread but I had that game. The "enemies" that would interfere to come out and beat you up would actually come out and attack your opponents. I always laughed my ass off when Mark Henry came out and interfered but beat up my opponent instead. Thank you sexual chocolate.

I Remember reviewers all saying that, but in my head I was thinking no developer wants to put that much time and effort into a system with that much depth and...well, I was right! Yay! Yay? I Don't know how I feel about being right on this. I Think it's a hard sell to publishers simply because there's money to be had investing into multiplayer instead of deep single player player campaign.

Possibly? But I remember the original exclusive XBox WWE games were all terrible and broken according to reviews so it's hard for me to hold this to any standard. I Know one of those games had it so you can attack wrestlers during their entrance and some other gimmicks.

Wonder if the only reason we haven't seen the nemesis system appear in any other game is due to EA patent or copyright? I remember Sega going after EA or some other developer due to the floating arrow pointer that Sega used in Crazy Taxi. I'd assume EA has some control over it Sega could patent a floating arrow.

A few of them had this in the Universe mode. It was awesome because it worked with player created characters and you could set alliances so certain ones would do run ins to help. I wish they would bring this back - that was the funniest thing ever

Following wrestling logic, wouldn't that result in your wrestler getting a loss?

It's a neat system, but storywise the part of that system where enemies get stronger/promoted when they beat you wouldn't make a lot of sense in games where your character doesn't resurrect after they die. Any game that just checkpoints you when you die couldn't have something like that.

And the part where enemies come back after you "kill" them doesn't quite work in any kind of more realistic setting with human enemies. With Uruks, it's a fantasy enemy, so who knows what their physiology is like? Maybe getting an arrow to the head isn't too bad for them. But in a shooter or something, it'd seem kind of cheesy to have guys coming back after getting blasted with a shotgun. You'd need a specific kind of setting and game for this system to make sense.

As someone mentioned, it can work in something like a wrestling game, since defeat doesn't mean permanent death. That's similar enough to resurrecting in the Shadow games. But I kind of feel like the reason we don't see more of this sort of thing is it just isn't a good fit for most games.

Edit: Didn't a Nascar game have something like this? Like, if you were a dick and spun out another driver on purpose, they'd try to pay you back in a later race?

Mordor isn't an EA game though it's "Warner Brothers" but it is odd this week they released all the Batman games from WB on the PC version of EA Access. Nothing on the Xbox yet, but I wonder if they are going to make some more drastic moves after what Game Pass has become the last couple months.

Don’t know if GamePass is devaluing games before they even come out but State of Decay 2 is on sale for $24 with GCU at BB.

Yeah cause the game is $30. So $30 - 20% is $24.

Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Oh, I thought it was $39.99. Also bad advertising on BB part, they have it listed as being on sale with the full price as $49.99, which I knew was wrong.

Sorry, my bad.

No, it's bullshit. Twice now. It's not like you can buy on different marketplaces anyways and get it on your regular account.
I´m sorry, but I don't really know what are you talking about. LaXtore is a webpage similar to storeparser or xbox-store-checker, where you can compare game prices and buy them directly on Xbox Store. No pop-ups at all, al least in my case.

Totally random question here, but I was trying to play the Platinum Hits version of Fable II from the disc in my X1 last night, and it kept saying it couldn’t load my save because I didn’t have the dlc installed. This is the first time I’ve seen a game with on-disc dlc not work correctly via BC. Anyone else have this problem or know a workaround?

Bought those five Oscar winners for $4.99 each over a week ago and still haven’t gotten my $25 back. Wonder if I should give them a call today. I should have received it by now, right?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY T done.

R is going to be the first level of Chris' campaign in RE6, U will be 'Underdog' in Forza Horizon 3. Haven't planned past that.

I was debating Just Cause XL and Deus Ex Mankind Divided because they seem likely for GwG in the near future, but then I realized if I buy the 11.25 deluxe editions, that has content that won't come with GwG anyways so its still a good deal, so now I own both... Prob will try Just Cause XL first. I know the reviews say the framerate wasn't great but I have an Xbox One X so I'm guessing that probably powers through any of those issues if they haven't already been patched.

I’ve had the JC3 XL page pulled up since Monday night thinking the same thing.

I bought XL for $17 2 or 3 months ago as a welcome addition to my backlog.  It's a steal at $11.25.  Deus Ex was about the same sale price back then.  Not sure if this is the new Just Cause sale price, but if you are choosing between the two, I would lean to J.Cause for the price drop.

Hearing about the Burnout Paradise remaster made me dl my GwG copy I got awhile back. So according to some previews I saw, unless you want the best visuals possible, if you already own it, might not be worth an upgrade. Still a great game though.

Also preordered Sea of Thieves because that game looks fun as hell.

Have you gone in to Manage Game and download all the DLC yet?

I tend to agree. I love the game and it looks better with less jaggies and stuff on X1X but as one preview said it’s not a gigantic upgrade. I’m not going to buy it until it drops in price and may even wait for the Vault. Have like 9 more hours on my trial so that will keep me going for a while. And then can just play the original.

As I posted before I actually think the free X1X enhancements to the original Forza Horizon are far more impressive. That is a game that looks incredible compared to the original base game.

Been playing a Lot of CoD WW2 war matches and playing the objectives are a sweet sweet blast. From rescuing hostages to blowing up radios to stealing gasoline for your tank to advance.

The dlc is baked into to disc, not a separate install disc, so I don’t “own” the dlc on account. When I play it on the 360, everything is good and I can access Knothole Island and See The Future. No downloading or installing needed. The X1 doesn’t recognize that the dlc is baked in and won’t let me play. The free compatibility packs give me the same error.

What I mean is that inserting the disc only automatically triggers the base game install. You would need to see if that disc also prompts the console to allow you to download the DLC, and you would do that by going into Manage Game and seeing if there is anything else in the Ready to Install section.

Speaking of Ready to Install, has anyone gotten the DLC from the MixPot yet?

2 weeks later and still havent opened my Sea of Thieves X1 controller. You're not about that life unless you backlog controllers lol

Bought those five Oscar winners for $4.99 each over a week ago and still haven’t gotten my $25 back. Wonder if I should give them a call today. I should have received it by now, right?
Yes, you should contact them. Expect to waste an hour + and still not get your rebate. I eventually had to insist on a refund (haven’t checked but I assume they took the movies off my account too), which they eventually granted.

This promotion is crap.

Speaking of Cities Skylines...

With MS adding all of their first party games to Game Pass, that just reminds me that eventually, Quantum Break will be added. I'm guessing this summer.

Been playing a Lot of CoD WW2 war matches and playing the objectives are a sweet sweet blast. From rescuing hostages to blowing up radios to stealing gasoline for your tank to advance.
I just tried that mode a couple weeks ago and it's awesome! Way better than just doing the old deathmatch or kill confirmed.

I'm at the Y in HAPPY for the TA birthday challenge. Gonna pick up the Ryse: Season Pass at full price to mop up about half of the remaining letters so it aught to be on sale this week, you all are welcome.

Hoping for some good deals to arrive next week. Got $15 on Wednesday for playing all the f2p games, so here's my wishlist of games with the lowest prices they've discounted to:

Axiom Verge $10 - 1/18
Cuphead $17 - 12/17
Dangerous Golf $10 - 10/17
Hyper Light Drifter $12 - 2/17
Inside $10 - 1/18
Little Nightmares $10 - 12/17
The Mummy Demastered $14 - 12/17
Unepic $5 - 10/17
The Witness $16 - 6/17

If any of those hit their previously lowest prices, I'd be all over em. Still waiting for discounts on games like Perception, SOMA and Vanishing of Ethan Carter. I know the latter games just came out a few months ago, but Perception released back in June of 2017

So reading more about the Burnout Paradise remaster and I know I am defiantly not going to buy it. Don't get me wrong, Paradise is a great game, but it's missing a retry button when you lose a race. The remaster does not fix this either, so if you lose a race after driving 7 miles, your driving back 7 miles to retry it which is crappy for this type of game. I have no problem for a game that uses this mechanic like Dark Souls but for an open world arcade racer, it's just adds pointless driving.

I was playing my GWG copy of Paradise and I forgot this game had no retry button. It's kinda sad EA couldn't add in a simple QOL improvement like that.

Actually, there is a retry in both the original and the remaster. You press right on the d-pad and it brings up a list of things. One of the menu items is retry last race. That takes you back to the start without having to drive there.

I still don’t think it’s a gigantic improvement over the original. Sure it looks good but not as good as some other X enhancements, including FH.

I may change my mind but for now I’m sticking with the EA trial.

On another note, I just picked up my 55” TCL P605 from Best Buy. Cannot wait to get this puppy up and running.

I'll only buy Burnout Paradise HD'er (when cheap of course) in hopes that they'll remaster Burnout 3: Takedown.

You are not wrong. 48 minutes later and I have an open case. They are so clueless about their own promotion. I had to give them the web address of their ad to even prove it was a real thing.
For anyone who needs it, here it is :

Noice!!! Glad to see my Palpatine mind trick worked 😉. It's a great tv, had mine for about 2 1/2 months and love it.
