Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

I might be a minority but I played through A Way Out with a friend and found it way too easy and boring. I think we failed like 5 times total and it's super forgiving.

If you guys havent played paladins yet it pretty fun overwatch type game. Its still in beta but achivements are working.

Its free or on gamepass
It is a fun game! It actually just left beta last week after being in it for like 2 years :D But yeah, it's a free to play game always.

Did a random generator for the Pink Mercy skin and the winner is:

FIELDKILLAH

I'm going to send you a PM after this post to see if you want it on PC or XBOX.

Thanks to everyone that put their names in. The skin is available until the end of May I believe and all proceeds go to charity.

Rage 2 is definitely real. Trailer should be out Monday.

You overestimate my ability to play for longer periods. An hour straight is a good day. May be longer on some days. Sorter on others.
Based on your posts about pretty much every game that comes out, I figured you had more game time than most of us combined lol

I'd love to buy a way out, but it'd probably be on ea access by the end of the year. I'm also hoping the same for burnout paradise, burnout revenge, and ssx3.

Eww. That really sucks for people with game pass and EA access.

EA came out on record and said AWO sold more in its first two weeks than they thought it'd sell in its lifetime, so sales aren't the issue. Could drop more. Could be a promotional thing with Best Buy. Time will tell. I know I'll keep waiting till it's sub $10 cause I'm a cheap ass

Good to know, I had no idea it was doing so well...

No GCU on digital ... sad panda
$10 sounds like about the right time to jump in

Sweet, maybe we’ll see the original go GWG or something and I’ll actually get around to playing it some day if the second one is good too.

Rage has really bad audio issues when played on back compat which I don't believe has ever been fixed, so if it were to go GWG I hope they patch it

Already disappointed there won't be new episodes of Silicon Valley and Barry next week.

Something needs to be currently discounted in some way to know if that discount will change in the next 24 hours. That's why it's usually just EA titles found for the countdown. Not the first time Game Pass titles have tipped their hand, but it hasn't been consistent like EA. No idea why the EA Access discount is coded differently than Game Pass, but if I had that kind of insight or level of access, I could probably completely spill the beans on the upcoming sales.

it used to crash, too. it was pretty infrequently, so i put up with it. maybe these issues have been fixed since i stopped playing it a year ago.

First Rage was alright (on 360). It was really polished and smooth, the graphics were really top notch but the character development and story were very scarce and bland, with a lot of fetch quests revisiting the same places. Overall, i'd say it was a decent open world shooter with some ok car racing/action.

I didn't like the first Rage. I thought Borderlands and Borderlands 2 were significantly better games. I remember being bored playing Rage. The Rage 2 announcement doesn't have me that excited unless they really changed something to make it more interesting.

Wherein MoviePass says no, so I subsequently give MoviePass the finger and tell it to go to hell, all while breaking my phone and learning a lot of techie stuff in the process.

So I softbricked my Samsung Galaxy S4 trying to upgrade from KitKat to Nougat. I primarily did the upgrade because the latest version of the MoviePass app was required Android 5.0 or better. Got my phone up and running this weekend, and every app worked but 2 Netflix and ... you guessed it - MoviePass. There was a workaround to sideload Netflix. But come to find out that the Google Play Store has a layer in the app software that checks for various types of rooting or root related tweeks, and then blocks certain apps (usually banking and media related apps) to the point they don't even show up when you run a search in the Play Store. Digging thru the the mostly useless MoviePass website FAQ I found nowhere listing the actual system requirements for the app, but I did find a specific statement saying "this app does not support rooted devices." God Dammit! Blah blah blah. More reading. More poorly constructed how-to's. I figured out using Magisk instead of SuperSU would solve the issue. Bam! Fixed it. Take that MoviePass. I'm about to unleash hell on MoviePass as I buy my daily ticket every day until I am the sole cause of it's demise. I'm gonna buy tickets for shitty movies I don't want to see where I don't even go into the theater to watch. I just buy the ticket and go home to play Xbox.

Since the info about the 21 games getting removed from gamepass was spilled I thought I might try knocking out some of the easy games / achievements. Tried Pac-Man Championship Edition DX and knocked out all but the last 2 achievements.

(1) For all the violent war-based, zombie-filled, alien-attacking, blood-spilling video games that I've played, I have never been more abusive on a controller than I was playing Pac-Man.

(2) How in the world do you score 1,000,000 points in 5 minutes? [BTW I topped out at 876k] And if I can't do that how do you expect me to hit 2,000,000 points in 10 minutes?

Ha it can be done, takes some almost perfect playing in the 5 minute mode that last minute, but I managed to complete both that one and DX+, loved both those games. Never got into Championship edition 2 as much.

I agree with this 110%. CE DX has some challenges, but everything is within reach if you just keep practicing. CE DX2 lost the magic somehow for me. I've been playing it consistently for the last couple of months and just nothing in that game grabs me like the original.

I've broken my old phone so many times updating. Number one cause is new OS version and forgot gapps. Installed 8.1 on my OnePlus One (shipped with 4) and of course there's something wrong I can't figure out yet.

Fingers crossed the Bethesda bundles go cheap enough. I'm shocked Rage got a sequel to begin with.

Just found out that Rage 2 is being made by the developers of the Mad Max game.  So if you enjoyed Mad Max, then you might be in luck.  I personally found Mad Max boring.  Pull down scarecrows, clear enemy bases, do races.  Then go to the next area and repeat.  Next area and repeat.  etc.  It's like they took the template from Assassin's Creed 1 (2007) and added car mechanics to it.  That gameplay loop is so outdated.  Not expecting much from tomorrow's gameplay reveal.

One of the things I did like about the first game that I wished more developers did is the diversity of the enemies' attack styles.  Each one required a different strategy.  Some games do this now, but usually it's one enemy type and then a few tougher dudes that require something different from you.  In Rage, there were 3 distinct enemy factions and each one (from the lowly grunts to the bigger dudes) felt unique.

I just saw that The Crew 2 is coming out next month. Don't know if I should keep my preorder from the Amazon pricing error. I still have the original from gwg that I haven't touched and forza horizon 3.

The Crew 2 could be something interesting with the fact they are adding boats. The original Crew had kind of a cool concept but the demo i played it controlled like crap. I understand it's been reworked and updated many times like a lot of Ubisoft this generation and is pretty decent game now.

Boss Key Productions is dead. The developed in desperation Radical Heights didn't get enough steam after the LawBreakers flop. Good luck to those employees, but I hope Bleszinski either learned a few important lessons or leaves the industry for good. At the very least I hope the experience humbled him.

i gave up on my preorder because i barely touched the first game.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same. I have the first game and haven't played it since the beta.

I'd like to see some more gameplay and if they changed the map at all. When playing GTA online I would usually end up messing around in vehicles most of the time, so I could have some fun with this?

I wonder if NOT making LawBreakers :ps4: exclusive would have helped. It felt so odd to have him as a big part of a studio that was owned by Microsoft and then turn around and start his own company and leave Microsoft consoles out of its plans. I partly blame community backlash on the failure of the game/studio.

I hope he makes games again still in the future, and this time brings them to all platforms as mentioned above, yeah; I will agree he could definitely be humbled, but he has a lot of good games that he has worked on, I'd personally love to see him come back to Unreal and bring that to life again some day, but who knows if Epic will let that happen.

Law Breakers main issue seemed that there wasn't a market for it, it was drawing less than 100 people on Steam shortly after launch so I don't think being on Xbox was going to save them at all. I don't really mind people that are outspoken and I think only being on PS4 that's just a number games at this point. Gears of War was definitely a game changer at it's time, although now I feel now it could use a total overhaul.

Hopefully Bloomy Claus fills his sleigh with sensational savings on titles that surprise and delight, like Saints Row 2, Sonic Generations, and Far Cry 5. Merry Date Night to all, and to all a good night!

Epic was never owned by Microsoft. The PC version was the main version and never got any traction, so an Xbox version would not have made any difference.

True, but my main point is still there. Why go from a dev that makes Xbox exclusive games to a dev that makes PlayStation exclusive games, when a huge mass of your fanbase is from Xbox?
