I don't really mind people that are outspoken and I think only being on PS4 that's just a number games at this point. Gears of War was definitely a game changer at it's time, although now I feel now it could use a total overhaul.

They did a dreadful job marketing the game and didn't bother with a proper tutorial to explain what was an inventive movement system when done right.
 
I'd just like to know just how much input Belszinski had on any of the big Epic games. I know his early stuff was him, like Jazz Jackrabbit, but Unreal Tournament was co-developed by Digital Eclipse, and Gears 4 was fine under just Rod Ferguson. Lawbreakers was just kind of bland with the feeling of and old guy trying to be cool, and Radical Heights just had so many red flags all over it, with what felt like very little creativity.

Even though i can't stand his views usually on his regular Xbox podcast unlocked, Ryan McCaffery at IGN has another podcast on there called IGN Unfiltered that is actually really interesting. Usually an hour or two deep dive one on one with a developer. He has an interview with Cliff that covers his career pretty extensively. Think it came out around the Lawbreaker's release.

I've seen that kind of stuff before, I'd be more interested in a third party account. Like I wasn't aware just how involved Digital Eclipse was in Unreal until Noclip's recent WarFrame documentary.

Anyways, I don't know if Bleszinski made the call to not inform the employees first but this is pretty shitty.

I think part of the issue with it was marketing. I didn't even know about the game, or the fact he had his own studio. Even if I did, I probably wouldn't get it cause this dude thinks he is a god, so I'm sure that was working against the game as well.

This would be a great opportunity to put the original Mortal Kombat games on dale for the 360. Gives me a reason to boot it up again.

Might get Friday the 13th and some Lego games while I wait for Netflix to deliver Thor: Ragnarok.

I don't know if the amount of marketing itself was an issue, it was just that neither game that they made had much staying power. They had a pretty big blowout for LawBreakers one year at E3 at least. But when people played the game it just didn't stand out much, leading to the beta having higher player counts than the actual game ever had after launch. They did keep making poor timing decisions leading to being overshadowed over and over, often having important dates and free weekends coincide with other big games, like a CoD Beta one weekend, and a big update the day Overwatch had a huge event start on another. As much as Cliff wouldn't admit it, they were clearly trying to piggyback off of Overwatch's success and seemingly trying to appeal to an "too cool for non-realistic artstyles" demographic that I don't think branched away from CoD and Battlefield to begin with.

Lack of marketing is a lot easier to claim for Radical Heights, as it seemed they entirely banked on it blowing up on Twitch. After the initial launch most of the big streamers didn't play it unless Fortnite's servers were down so it had no audience. The last desperate attempt was that $60,000 prize pool Twitch "tournament" that seemed to pay 6 of the biggest Fortnite streamers (other than Ninja) to play their game for the better part of a day.

Epic was primarily a PC developer, not an Xbox exclusive developer. They just had one series get published by Microsoft, but that doesn't make them beholden to Xbox. Same for Young Clifford. I'd guess that the vast majority of "his fanbase" are really just Gears fans, not CliffyB fans, which is the big problem for him.

Are these prices supposed to be live already? I can see them on the store portion of my Xbox one.
 
Picked up Wonderboy , debating Bleed and may get Death Road to Canada because it looks funs as Hell ! (Even Though I know it will probably get a bigger discount soon )

If Subnautica would go below $10, i'd get it.

I highly recommend The Long Dark for anyone looking for a great survival game (without zombies!). I bought it last year when it was still in preview, the sandbox mode is fun on itself, and they've added an episodic story mode. Easily one of the best indie games I've played.
