Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

It's not like it was unexpected, nor is it launching next year. You could still buy it.
I Probably will still eventually in all honesty, but I don't know, I always had the weird assumption Microsoft was going for a somewhat PC based structure for consoles with the One X being such a large leap from the normal One.

So...the message is clear, I shouldn't worry about buying a One X because they're making a real next gen console.
Wouldn't be surprised if the X1X can exclusively run games made for the new system, and that's how they get away with making games for it that can't run on the original hardware.

Thinking about the 6 months of game pass at 29.99. I guess I can buy it and wait until Forza drops in October?

There’s not much else dropping the year in gamepass.

I will say that they showed a bunch world revealing trailers like DMC 5, Dying Light, Cyber Punk which was awesome but in terms of actual exclusives it was barren

btw tomorrow will be a stream from inside xbox as for the mixpot it says the following:

Watch and get free game content. With MixPot, it’s that simple.

If you watch and sign into Mixer during the Xbox E3 Briefing or Inside Xbox, you can qualify to receive a MixPot of digital goodies (quantities are limited). There will be unique rewards for each broadcast. Check out aka.ms/mixpotfaq for more details!

For more information on how to link your account click here.

Speaking of unique rewards for each podcast, so I guess the stream tomorrow will have something else...

DmC was the reboot done by Ninja Theory. DMC 5 is going back to the original.
Ah, well. That’s actually disappointing. I actually liked the reboot more than DMC4. Also would have been a nice exclusive. I mean I have a PS4 but always root for the box! And play it more.

These are all the exclusives shown.

Halo: Infinite (No details, probably far off, announcment of new engine, seems to return to Bungie art style.)

Ori and the Will of the Wisps (2019)

Crackdown 3 (Feb 2019)

Sea of Thieves content (lol)

Forza Horizon 4 (Oct 2018, the only exclusive for the rest of the year)

Cuphead DLC (2019)

Battletoads (2019)

Gears 5 (2019, I think this is the official title, no "of War")

Gears Tactics (XCOM style gameplay, seems to be PC exclusive)

Gears Pop! (lol, phone junk)

Four studios acquired to solve the exclusive problem:

Playground Games - Forza Horizon series

Undead Labs - State of Decay series

Ninja Theory - Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, DmC, Heavenly Sword, Enslaved Odyssey to the West

Compulsion Games - We Happy Few, Contrast

One new first-party studio created:

The Initiative - no real details given, in Santa Monica

Was thinking the same thing. Since NFS has been boring me ever since Rivals, I've been having fun with Horizon here and there but not enough to buy it. I like how M$ played it off as showcasing 50 games, but only 15 were actual exclusives and almost all were sequels. Gears took up 3 of those alone lol. The only one I'd have been interested in was Fable but it's a dead franchise at this point. Out of all that was shown, only Ori and Tunic are games I'd buy for X1. GF was squeeing over Tunic so hoping it has some sort of co-op hehe.

It was an interesting conference. A lot of game titles and trailers. Still zero reason to own an Xbox if you have a PC, but at least they're just catering to those who stuck around it seems.

I had fun watching the E3 show, well done production wise, but weak on exclusives shown. Nothing on Perfect Dark or Fable, they must be so far out they don't have anything to say yet. Not much said on Halo, just that they are working on Halo. Did Gears 5 have a date? It seems like 2018 is going to be a super weak year for Xbox as far as exclusives. Just Horizon 4?

Fail on me for not being able to watch the whole thing but I thought there was supposed to be 18 exclusives announced. That’s a lot fewer than that.

So I guess those rumors from a month or two back I guess we can deem as false with the ones that said Forza Horizon 4 would be in Japan and Playground Games be working on Fable IV?

They might have just recently started Fable, might still be true, just not ready to talk yet.

i guess, 2 of those studios already made xbox exclusive games, what really changed other than the signature on their paychecks?
They don't pull a bungie and leave anytime soon.

I think they either were including timed exclusives, or maybe some of the indie games that flashed by in the montage were exclusive. I don't remember what was timed aside from PUBG and I think Black Desert Online has a exclusive beta.

More Halo info.

Important stuff:
Halo Infinite will feature Sparth’s (Art Director, Nicolas Bouvier) new art style that draws significant inspiration from the most iconic and historic parts of the Halo franchise and your feedback... The new Master Chief helmet directly showcases our new art style.

The team also heard feedback loud and clear on the amount of time spent playing as the Master Chief in Halo 5. In Halo Infinite, the game will focus on the Master Chief and continue his saga after the events of Halo 5.

In the future, you will be able to join early flighting programs that will let members of the community play the game with us, and give direct feedback, much like the current Insider flighting program for Halo: The Master Chief Collection. It

A lot of people complaining about no exclusives for the rest of 2018 for Xbox, but forget that all the big third party stuff is still coming to all systems (RDR2, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, most likely the new Assassins Creed this fall, Battlefield, COD, FIFA, Hitman 2, etc) and they actually look and play better on the Xbox One X. I have the 3 systems so I will just play what I want where I see and feel they play better, not much left for PS4 this year either for exclusives, Spiderman seems to be the big one left, if you think any of the games that will be showcased for them on this E3 (Last of Us 2, Death Stranding, etc)  will be released on the next 6 months I got some bad news for you as it seems February 2019 is becoming the month for everything to release and Sony has been selling us the same games for the last 3 conferences, hoping they announce something coming pretty soon tomorrow but not holding my breath for something that will probably not release for another year or maybe not even this generation, just enjoy everything that is coming out and enjoy it on your system of preference.

So strange so many things releasing (end of) Feb next year. Nice they're not rushing for holiday, but some games even the same day?

Did we know Terry Crews was Crackdown before? I wonder if the promised multiplayer is what's causing the delay. Cloud stuff seems like a big tech issue that I can see being the issue.

I don't think that makes Playground Games working on Fable IV false at all. Their job listings basically say open world RPG so it could still be a new IP but the fact they are now a 1st Party studio it makes even more sense it's in the Fable universe. They just started up production this Winter so game is a couple years off at least, so no reason to show your hand yet if they even had anything close to ready.

I don't think any of us are forgetting about the multiplatform stuff. It's just disappointing when they are the only thing to look forward to, especially when PS4 has like 2 killer exclusives a month minimum. Sony might still be pushing the same first party stuff they've had but other games that happen to be exclusive pick up the slack there, like Yakuza or the many JRPGs.

Looking and playing better isn't that big of a deal for most of us, and if it really is PC is still the best choice by far.

So with Just Cause 4 coming out and Just Cause 2 (via bc) and Just Cause 3 sitting in my backlog, should I just go straight to 3 or is 2 still worth a look?

No love for The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit?... Behind Halo, that might be my most anticipated game shown today.
I was just taking a second look at all the games mentioned today as well as yesterday, and ironically, for someone who is not a fan of indie games, I am looking forward to this one a lot.

The other announcements didn't meet my expectations at all. I'm still excited for Anthem, but they didn't show anything jaw dropping and I wasn't as hyped as I thought I would be from their reveal yesterday. I was hoping for FH4 to be set in Japan, so the actual reveal was a huge disappointment to me. I love what CD Project Red does and was psyched when Cyberpunk was shown, but it was way more "punk" than "cyber" imo. I was expecting something more along the lines of Deus Ex+Coruscant, and not 1980s culture plus future technology. I'm a huge fan of The Division, but I totally did not like the tone of that trailer; was not as excited as I thought I'd be.

The only thing that will save this E3 for me is if Bethesda makes my jaw drop with it's rumored sci-fi game, and if Ubisoft announces a new Splinter Cell.

I think 2 killer exclusives a month for PS4 is really hyperbolic

So stoked for Battletoads, Cyberpunk 2077, Forza Horizon 4, and Metro: Exodus. Solid conference, and they brought the game announcements like they needed. There is a dry patch until Spring '19, but looks like things are moving in the right direction. Hopefully it continues without Phil.
