Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

NBA 2K19 servers must be down, a common occurrence I hear. The MyCareer, does that need the servers or can it be played when they are down? MyTeam wont work so I tried MyCareer and it just freezes on loading screen.

this bing reward shit is getting pretty irritating

mines gotta be over 10 days behind now for logins

probably not even behind just not triggering as I highly doubt it will ever catch up since it just keeps getting more behind

I just replied "fix yo shit" to all the survey questions, hope that helps them

So I'm thinking of starting up a CAG game night sometime as soon as next weekend, but it could be the weekend after.

I think there's enough of us with similar catalogs to get some game time together, whether that's working together on a coop game (Halo MCC, Zombie Army Trilogy, Borderlands, etc) or linking up on private online shooter matches (Halo 5, Gears 4, etc) or other competitive/casual games (Forza Horizon 4, Fortnite squad matches, Knight Squad)

In order to get some more CAG interest from each session, I'm thinking every session will have a $5-10 Xbox Gift Card giveaway during each session to a random participant. In competitive games, obviously the gift card will be earned. In coop games, it'll be randomly selected.

We had a game group about a year ago, but it just stopped all of a sudden and I think game choice had to do with it. It was often newer full price titles on release week that kept me out personally so I'd be choosing games readily available to many members of the thread.

I'm thinking this should be a monthly thing (maaaybe bi-monthly). Looking for some thoughts on this, especially from the regulars of the thread.
I would be down for FH4, Borderlands (well not TPS), Gears 4 and maybe Halo 5. Great idea.

Anyone get the gamepass punch card to credit the 3000 points yet?

Checked the first achievement off pretty quick but can’t get the 2nd one to check off after 4 days so did a different game today so we’ll see but it ends in 3 days smh.

Ironically with all the ms reward punchcard issues I’ve been having the bond car pack I won on here checked off that punchcard immediately even though I’m not the one who purchased it.
I was having trouble then I played through Late Shift last night and it was checked this morning.

Can't really say much because of the NDA crap, but Fallout 76 was amazing. My girlfriend was able to join me thanks to Game sharing, which was great. Though the in game friends list didn't work right away so we started on different servers. Then hers took a dump and kicked everyone, and the friend list was working then so she just joined me at the location I was searching. Going back to Fallout 4 sucks now, I just want to play 76! I think I'll start a Fallout 4 run in Survival, since I've never played it before, and will help me prepare better for 76.

I've never participated in something like this before, so I don't know if this is common at all or if Bethesda is the first to do it. Or if it was just a bug. I realized when we looked at our friends list through the xbox, we weren't playing the stress test, it said we were just on Home the entire time.

So I managed to get 9 ranked matches in FH4 last night in about 5 hrs, not ideal. At one point I had six straight 12/12 accepted but after the car select screen the lobby dissolved. Rammers everywhere except one lobby which everyone miraculously appeared to try to avoid contact at all costs which was surprising and the most fun racing of the night.

I really enjoyed the stress test too. I was afraid of higher level people attacking, but everyone seemed more interested in exploring and taking out groups of enemies. It wasn’t until we got the warning that the servers were shutting down that all hell broke loose. Everyone was attacking each other and goofing around. I’m very glad I preordered and I can’t wait till the beta launches.

If you like fallout 4 you’ll like 76 as much if not more. Maybe if we get enough people we can make a CAG party.

This usually happens when there are NDA tests and sometimes with closed betas, depending on the developer. The first time I encountered it was doing the NDA alpha testing for The Division. So if you ever see friends sitting at the Home screen for extended periods of time, you can't really tell if they are afk or testing a new game. Lol.

We luckily didn't have anybody try and attack us at any point, though at the very end we were completely isolated from other players so that probably helped. PVP doesn't interest us at all, so we will be doing whatever we can to disable it when the game actually launches. Ever since Bethesda killed the MMO after obtaining the rights, I was worried I'd never get a multiplayer version of my favorite franchise. I'm glad they didn't ignore multiplayer. More games need co-op!

Ah, I see. Just seems strange, I didn't think it was supposed to be secret who was picked. Maybe to avoid getting harassed by people who see you playing on your friends list? I certainly would have been irritated if I kept getting messages from people on my friends list hounding me about how the game was while I was trying to play.

This talk about betas reminded me I finished downloading the Jump Force beta this morning.

Time to check it out before it expires later tonight.

They have been problematic and unreliable for years. That and the spike in VC needed to start off halfway decent in MyCareer was why I stopped playing. If it hasn’t changed, you won’t get VC to improve your player while the servers are down. If you don’t have anything else to do, follow ronnie2k on Twitter as he tries to reassure everyone they will be back up. People rip him apart on Twitter because he’s basically the scapegoat 2K shoves out from behind their fortress walls to get stoned to death.

I can't beat the Prelude demo because the servers crash after finishing a game.

Am I the only one that is not even going to bother completing the weekly Forzathon challenge? 7 million skill points sounds like a huge grind for a measly 100 points which I could get by simply doing a couple forzathon lives.

I agree. I did the grind this week. But can't see me doing it very often for the lame rewards.

Curious what the 6 day countdowns are for, unless they'll just readjust for next week's sale.

Am I the only one that is not even going to bother completing the weekly Forzathon challenge? 7 million skill points sounds like a huge grind for a measly 100 points which I could get by simply doing a couple forzathon lives.
I didn't think it was too bad. Used the Land Rover FE in the Forzathon shop this week, with the destruction skills boost. Maxed out the skill tree and tore through shrubs, walls and fences near the wind farm. Also had the help of a skill song. Glad for that tip to bank the chain when it got around 500k to max the skill points. Was able to max out another car after completing the challenge.

Also thought it was odd that the Forzathon shop showed the Land Rover as a D class car, but it's an S1 when you buy it. I already had an S1 one from before this week, so bought another expecting a D to tweak.

Sucks that Mr hockey had his progress reset. Glad that didn't happen to me.

Perhaps 6 days until aHalloween sale? Two weeks of spooky games?? I don't recall if they did anything special last year outside of the weekly sales.

Hitman Blood Money is one of the best videogames ever made and I'm so glad it's finally free. Now, Hitman 2 &3 need to be BC.

On a related note, the packaging for Hitman Trilogy on Xbox 360 is  amazing, it's an artbook case with some great interpetations of 47.

I'm not sure if there would be anything too exciting with a Halloween sale. Probably the same Resident Evil sales we get every couple months. Hopefully the RE7 DLC will get a better discount though. Evil Within 2 is the biggest horror game coming to mind from the past year. Maybe Friday the 13th or the dumpster fire Agony.

Looks like Fortnite Save the World is coming up on sale with the Halloween stuff. If you play Battle Royale and want easy V-Bucks for skins and stuff it's worth picking up.

In game it STILL says the mode is going to be free this year, so bear that in mind. I'm still assuming you won't be able to earn V-Bucks, at least very many, without paying for some kind upgrade though.

The other day when the news about the Destiny 2 DLC nonsense pricing thing came out people were wondering if it was planned or if it was a response to poor sales. I just remembered while looking at Bloomy’s preview list that Forsaken was on the list with something like 40 days to go shortly after it released, but then that disappeared a few weeks ago. Just my conspiracy theory two cents, but seems like it was a planned move all along.

Shady business practices aside, the fiancé and I finally made it to the Dreaming City tonight with our friend, and I’ll say, they certainly did their work putting this DLC together. Seems like more stuff to do and collect that in the base game. Not saying much, but still, big improvements.
(Oh, and I didn’t actually buy the DLC. I had said I wasn’t planning on it. Our friend got it for us since he was bored of playing alone. Glad to have it but still hard to support Bungie after all this time...)

Sup bros, who here got BLOPS4? Is it worth it? Didn’t know there was no single player
I am toying with getting it via XBL. Between the 15% off code at Rakuten I used on XBL credit and two easy Bing rewards quests for CODBO4 totaling 7500 points I may bite since the overall cost after cashing those Bing points will be slightly better than BBUY GCU and I would have it digitally.

I've been hearing/seeing good things about it but I am old and slow and will get my ass handed to me.

I'm very impressed with the Xbox Team's dedication to backwards compatibility. The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection was one of my most wanted BC announcements and I decided to revisit my collection stats. I'm curious how others here are doing.
Decided to copy your format and check on my own collection.

FYI You have Tomb Raider on your 360-only list but it's on xbox one.

I was getting rid of my disc and wouldn't mind a download version of save the world.

Everyone I know who has it is raving about it. A lot of people on my friends list are playing the shit out of it right now. There is no single player as you said, but nobody seems to care. Zombies and shooting other humans in the face is more thrilling, apparently.

CoD is way too rich for my blood, though. Not paying $130 for the full package. It's outrageous. I don't even care about there not being some worthless 5 hour campaign that nobody will remember 10 minutes after its over. You can legitimately make a case that the MP makes the price of admission worth it since you can play that and compete against people, literally, for years. I just feel they're pushing the limits of how much people are willing to pay just a bit more every year. Next thing we know, they'll be charging $200 for a "premium" edition.

I've never really enjoyed Zombies, the multi-player is always at least passable except for Ghosts, and I'm not sure about the Battle Royale mode. I'm probably fine with just PUBG. The no single player is a harder sell for me when I look at the game being the same price as any other year. It would be one thing if because of this they were doing away with map packs but with the $49.99 "battle pass" it seems like business as usual with that also. After awhile it just gets exhausting and I only have another 10 days to Red Dead 2 so won't be picking this one up either.

I was up to 3 million points for the forzaton challenge. Playing today back down to 0 points I hate bullshit like this.
I had the same thing happen, at about the same point. Was trying to figure out what caused it.

I chalked it up to the fact I did a showcase in the middle to break up the monotony, thinking maybe they expected you to get the seven million without changing cars..

It was pretty easy to rack up score drifting through the beachfront drag strip, but the time/score loss discouraged me from trying again.

I know someone asked me about Fox N Forests last week and I finally had a chance to play it last night.

The game is really fun. I would say it reminds me a lot of 2D Sonic game mixed with the combat of Ghost and Goblins but more of a modern take. There is a world map similar to Ghost and Goblins and levels has multiple paths to take similar to a sonic game. Each level has a bunch of collectibles you need to pick up and some levels will need to be replayed with new gear in order to get all the collectibles. You can also spend some of this money during a level to open check points from retro raccoon.

Rick the fox uses a cross bow for combat and there is a town where you can upgrade your gear from the money and collectibles acquired in levels. The game focuses a lot on changing the season in a level to effect how the level works or to solve puzzles. For example a Bee hive is blocking your path change the season to winter and the bee hive is no longer there. For what I can tell a each level only has two different seasons and season change uses a mana bar that drains but can be upgraded at the town.  So far I really enjoy the style of the game and the music is really good too. Definitely worth the $5.

I changed cars in the middle of the 7 million.  Didn't do a showcase though.  Didn't have a problem.  And just playing I probably got over 2 million.  "Only" grinded out about 5 million on purpose.  I would assume if you played the whole season/week with the proper class of cars and played a decent amount I would have just gotten maybe 5 million.  But months from now when I have done everything there is to do (or I care to do) I could see 7 million points being a heck of a grind.  Hopefully not a regular requirement for the weekly.  I had to turn on the radio to get the skill songs.

Also tried to do the 10 missions with a high speed car.  Got to the second to last one and will wait until we are back in the spring.  Too hard for me to beat the times or speed requirements with snow covered roadways in high performance cars.  Got 8 of the 10 done but only 1 or 2 of them were 3 stars.  Rest were 1 or 2.

Agree with Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, I think Curt Shilling owned part of the company. Love that game. Also, wish for NFSU1 and 2.

It's a featured challenge like the Badlands and Moon Gate. Just click to the left or right of Badlands and it'll be there.
Nope, never showed up for me. They Never do. I have to click on actual links posted on here otherwise I get no offers/challenges/etc at all. Usually the page, when I go to it on my own, shows nothing except for Sorry About That, Looks Like You're Ineligible For This Promo.

As for the weekly challenge in Forza, there is a bug where the servers will sometimes forget your progress, it should work fine when doing it offline tho.

It probably also means you can do it several times if you really needed more Forzapoints.
