Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.

Any way to view stuff you bought on Microsoft Movies & TV without downloading it to your Xbox?

Assuming you don't want to download the Movies & TV app on your XBOX -- on pc you can go to

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/movies-and-tv?rtc=1

and there is a link on there for "My Movies and TV" that will open the "Movies & TV" windows app - provided you're logged into your account
The Movies and TV app on your Xbox also lists what you have without having to dl them.

rwerries - i tried your link and couldn't find the link for "My Movies and TV" and I was logged in. Where exactly was it?

about 1/2 way down (right below cyber monday ad) in a blue box that says "Shop Now" on top - last link in the blue box

Beyond the bugs, this game sacrifices just about all of the best aspects of the previous games for the sake of the co-op to the point that it's shouldn't even be labeled a spin-off.
What features did they leave out of 76 from Fallout 4 besides the NPCs? Obviously as an online MMO type game, you can't have the storylines you did in previous single player games...but this is true of all MMO games I've ever played, and I actually find the holo tapes to be very well voice acted and compelling while leaving my friends and I free to keep playing instead of waiting for all of my team to cycle through the stilted dialogue trees before another objective marker pops up on the map.

Speaking from my experience, I have encountered more bugs in Fallout 4 than in Fallout 76, mostly due to NPC scripting issues which obviously this game doesn't have. Not saying it is bug free by any means, but I haven't had any issues with losing progress or items outside of when I die and then lose my junk when I die again. That immortality bug requires a ton of setup, so it isn't likely many would attempt such a thing. You have to get every mutation, then a hazmat suit, then enter a fallut zone and party up with another player who has every mutation, etc. It isn't as easy as you implied by any means.

This is reminiscent to me of the talk after Sea of Thieves released, where people imagined a different game than the devs had promised and are outraged and shocked when what the devs delivered what they had said they were delivering.

I'm not here just to argue with people, but I am here to counter the thought that there is no fun to be had here or that this game somehow destroys Fallout. Reviewers have to grade a game based on the arbitrary constraints their publishers have dreamed up, and the internet loves dog-piling on things or blowing things out of proportion.

I've had a ton of fun with it.

I was being cheeky when I said "shove it", it wasn't directed to anyone in particular just basically me sticking my tongue out because I was having another unpopular opinion about something the internet got all upset about recently, so if anyone was offended by that I really am sorry.

Thanks. I could have sworn it was possible to download TV shows on the 360. But streaming is better anyway.
You can dl to the 360. I originally dl'ed the Wolverine when I won it from the Mickey Ds Monopoly a few years ago. I deleted it when I needed more space on my hd.

edit - although you can dl to the 360 I don't think you can stream. You can still view what you have without having to dl it though.

Went into the Microsoft store at the mall to pick up/return COD WW2, and saw they had assassins creed odyssey digital for $30. But man what a pos store, 6+ people standing around with nothing to do but it was me who had to approach them (was looking for Kingdom Come). Tried swapping out ww2 for odyssey but the manager “couldn’t” do it. I wasn’t paying cash because I put enough on my MS balance, will have to grab it for $38 or whatever during the xmas sale.

I think the only thing I'm picking up is the FFXIII Trilogy.  They aren't my favorite FF games, but FFXIII being available digitally AND on sale AND all three games getting X enhancements has convinced me to go digital on them.

That's why I use the chat!

I had a problem with my MS billing and talked to a couple of really nice people who were obviously American over the phone but couldn’t get my issues resolved. I ended up using the chat and they fixed it in no problem.

I've about hit my limit with the bullshit AI in these ACA Neo Geo games. fucking King of the Monsters 2 is ruined just for the simple fact that grappling sucks and the AI just decides whether or not you win it.  I'm cheating with fucking Turbo controllers and the AI STILL wins every goddamn grapple. I grab them first and the fucking computer just instantly reverses it. What is the point in even having this shit in the game if you can't win?! It's literally just a cheapass mechanic to guarantee people would spend money constantly continuing in the arcades.

I've played alot of Neo Geo games that I really love initially but after getting the achievements, I'm done with them forever. Metal Slug and KOF, Fatal Fury,  etc are still great  games despite their bullshit AI, but the likes King of the Monsters, 3 Count Bount, etc are just ruined because of it.

No NPCs counts as multiple "features" in my eyes. Aside from the obvious this also meant no companions which is a big thing for a lot of people, it also meant no radio host. Mainly, it fundamentally changed the experience to something that really isn't what the studio is known for in a lot of ways. I disagree with your assessment of story in multiplayer games. They definitely could have still had NPCs that had linear quests and dialogue, and that would go a long way to fleshing out the experience. Instead you know that every quest involving meeting people ends with finding a dead body. I think the quality of the Holotapes and the like is good, but I don't think audio-logs work as well when they are the ONLY means of getting the entire story across in an interactive games. They especially fall flat with how they are implemented for a multiplayer setting. No way to pause, fast forward, or rewind, or to really have impact while playing with others. It's a somewhat similar problem to Destiny's overall lore being 95% not in-game.

The way the change from Settlements to CAMP was implemented nerfed the hell out of the feature for me, essentially making it feel nearly pointless to me, as someone who loved this feature in Fallout 4. It is no longer possible to build a permanent base in any way. The fact that your base can be randomly stashed just because the random server you load in on has someone else there is pretty annoying, but the fact that bugs currently mean you can straight up lose many items is infuriating. Before I really go into bugs, I just think there are ton of major issues that simply stem from Bethesda being new to multiplayer, like the real end game being pretty much nothing, just keep launching nukes to fight the same couple bosses that currently don't even guarantee semi-decent loot.

Personally, I've played the last 3 Fallouts at launch. While I can maybe see an argument for them being as buggy (though I don't think they quite were), the bugs in 76 are much more obtrusive. The worst bug I had in the old games was a weird spawn bug causing a crash upon exit of a certain door in New Vegas, which I was able to backtrack and work around. The worst bugs in 76 make certain perk cards not work, cause extremely jarring graphical and AI glitches worse than anything in Skyrim, and cause steady disconnects and crashes. Hell, look up Lazy Game Reviews video that was just released. He's always very concise with his videos and just lays out his personal experience with the game. He was playing on Xbox One X and had 15 crashes in just 30 hours. Look at some of the streamers that have been playing it a lot and trying to remain positive and finally faltering after setback after setback, like CohhCarnage.

I'm in no way offended, I just think the game is in a piss poor state and that people that are considering buying it need to be adequately aware of the situation. The way this game was released is a joke, and should make people question the capability of this studio, or at least the judgement of the publisher. I'm not necessarily comparing it apples to apples with the older games in a lot of aspects, for myself I'm more comparing it to other games of similar genre, like looter shooters and survival games, and it comes up just as lacking there.

I'm not discounting that fact that you or anyone had fun, but I've never considered this a strong argument points since pretty much every game in existence is fun with friends, and if you're having fun single player then more power to you, but it severely lacks in the stuff most people enjoy about the previous games in the series.

I'd probably be more lenient if Bethesda were communicating, or at least acknowledged the shitstorm, but as of 5:50PM there still isn't anything.

Frivolous claims of "reported" is a running joke in this thread, but the Chilean miners could have told you that. It's all good.

Looking at a few more digital games before sale ends, considering Get Even, Lego City Undercover, Rogue Trooper, and possibly Red Faction but probably waiting on that one to drop a bit more.

I did and he said I had to open a ticket with ms rewards cause he couldn’t help me, I’m not being racist either I just feel like the people that type in broken English probably don’t understand what I’m saying clearly lol.

I’m starting to feel like it’s not worth the hassle for $10, I wish I remembered the money doesn’t expire on local time smh.

On a side note I really hope the ID@xbox portion of the gamepass punchcard checks off cause I really don’t wanna deal with support for that either.

I thought I was smooth sailing on a punchcard for once cause the other 3 checked off in 2 days but of course not smh.

Just out of curiosity, what ones would that be? Besides WB stuff I think almost everything that has a physical release has been cheaper physical this holiday.
Its not just the games that beat retail pricing (and there were quite a few), but also the difference in price of the games that didn't beat retail. Used to be you would see differences of like $10-$15 sometimes. So ridiculous given how much more MS makes on digital copies. This was the best priced digital sale, in comparison to physical retail copies, I have seen to date. As for the games I picked up.

Jurassic Park Evolution (Dlx edition)
Battle Chasers

Batman Arkham Collection

Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Burnout Paradise Remastered

Ghost Recon Wildlands

Injustice 2 Legendary Edition

Lego City Undercover

Lego Worlds
Mad Max

Red Faction Guerrilla Remarstered

Elder Scrolls Summerset Expansion

I couldn't find any of those cheaper in physical copies, especially Jurassic Park Evolution.

Looking at a few more digital games before sale ends, considering Get Even, Lego City Undercover, Rogue Trooper, and possibly Red Faction but probably waiting on that one to drop a bit more.
For what it's worth I absolutely loved Lego City Undercover.

What does the countdown in the spoiler tag mean?

So what are the must have deals for the BF sale? I've looked and skimmed and nothing really catches my eye besides Life is Strange: Before the Storm, but I see you guys buying a lot. Maybe I'm just picky nowadays.

To each their own. If nothing caught your eye, save your money.

What are the chances Microsoft will repeat some of these deals next month?   My backlog is so big right now that I'm not really in the mood to buy anything right now.

Just a heads up for people looking at picking up earthfall IT HAS NO COUCH CO-OP.I was excited to play this with my son since me and him would do L4D runs but nope it has no 2player mode. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED

Hmmm ... I'm on the Xbox 360 looking at deals and it turns out there are two super cheap games I haven't bought yet. Maybe my Xbox 360 backlog isn't dead after all.

Thoughts on Alone in the Dark and Strider?

Three free movies if you sync two additional accounts to Movies Anywhere. I can confirm they then sync up with Xbox Movies and TV as well.

The Martian (includes some hour long bonus feature)
The Fate of the Furious
Happy Feet

I got excited thinking "Another 3 for free!" until I got to the list and realized it's the ones from 3 weeks ago ;) but good reminder for those that missed this originally.
