Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...

Yikes. I guess Activision completely lost the TMNT license, like Ubi did about 10 years ago.

All the TMNT games are gone, Out of the Shadows, the Nickelodeon ones, and the new Platinum one.

The worst part is the last time that Fast & Furious and the Nickelodeon TMNT games were on sale was back at the end of August. Really kicking myself for not grabbing them then. Not sure why they didn't give those titles love like they did with Spidey.

So the only licensed games Activision seems to have now are:

Deadpool

MUA 1 & 2

Spidey: Shattered

Legend of Korra

Transformers (WFC, FOC, Devastation and all 4 movie games)

Tony Hawk?

Cabela's?

Deadpool, MUA and Spidey all just had their licenses renewed within the last year, so they'll probably be up for a bit. Transformers still has movies coming out and I'm not sure if anyone else has shown interest in the license. Korra'll probably be the next to go, I think.

That said, next time one of these games goes below a 50% discount, it's probably time to buy.

Losing the TMNT license also solves another mystery, the reason why the Platinum TMNT game was so bad. Guess Craptivision was desperate to rush it out before they lose the license.
It's good to see some of these franchises getting a chance at getting some good games again instead of Activision hoarding them for their own mediocre exploitation. The only decent TMNT I've seen from them was the Metroid-style game (Dangers of the Ooze).

TMNT Out of the Shadows is still available at gamestop.com

http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/dlc/tmnt-out-of-the-shadows/111834

full price though, but if you really want the game I'd grab it before it gets taken down.
I remember coming home from work so excited to play this when it came out. My girlfriend was over that night and I told her, hey listen there is a new TMNT game I am sorry we have to play it.. that is my night hahah. She was a good sport and played with me for a bit until she asked if she was just bad at games or if this game sucked. Begrudgingly I agreed that the game was a hot mess despite wanting to play it so badly.

I overhyped this last one too Mutants in Manhattan and was also disappointed, not as bad as Out of the Shadows but still not a 'good' game really by any measure. : /

Not sure about Xbox, but the Spider-Man games were on sale on PSN, eShop, and Steam. It wasn't 80% off, but Activision isn't going to be that generous.
Is it generosity though if they're losing the ability to sell the game they financed and distributed? They'd make way more money and sell way more copies if they announced it was being delisted and priced accordingly. Makes me wonder if it's a contractual thing to have set sale prices on licensed games.

You're talking about a publisher that rarely discounts their games below 50% off. Especially when it comes to their bigger games.

Are you sure it's a digital code for the game itself? The listing says "Price shown is for currency to be used in your Microsoft account."
didn't see that. Hopefully it will be the game cause I ordered it. In the past when I've ordered digital games its given me the game itself. Haven't gotten the code yet, when I do I'll confirm if its the game or not.

All game related too. Be proud of us!
Well in that case...

Was Dead Rising 4 kind of easy or did I just play the game really wrong and way out level the game because I was just enjoying exploring and collecting everything? Lot of fun overall but I think maybe two or three times at most was I actually forced to use a healing item in combat and never really felt in danger.

After looking at other listings I'm concerned it is just currency. I thought the $15.00 price was odd instead of $14.99. The PS3 one seems like its the actual game though and its on amazon too (PS3 and PC only)

I went with this one.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NR2VMNC/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_kNgByb9HAZFZD

Should be the 750 model for $29.99.

Since my Xfinity modem is dual band, I thought having a wifi extender that does both bands made since for $10 more. Setup was easy, just a push of two buttons to sync it originally and then plugged it in where the 360 was and it found the 2 signals again in less than a minute.
I've been toying with the RE450 but this might be a decent option for a fraction of the cost in case it doesn't work out for whatever reason.

Just got my code and it is just currency. Thanks for pointing that out, ill delete my post.

Shit, hopefully this means we can get some decent Turtles games. Whatever publisher gets the rights doesn't really matter, they just need to farm them out to decent devs AND give them enough time. I don't have high hopes though, TMNT's games were doomed once Nickelodeon bought the rights. Platinum was our one shot. I still haven't played it yet so I'll withhold judgment, but I know most people weren't happy with it.

Does anyone know much about Awesomenauts? I'm curious if I will be able to find anyone online matchmaking. Also if the game is any good, reviews seem good but they are from sites like Mondo Xbox.
The game itself is worth every penny. One of my most fun and enjoyable online games when it first came out on steam. I'd pick it up again on xbox if it was still active.

Despite knowing I won't play either until they probably get to GWG status, I think I might blow another $10 on this sale and am torn between Ryse and Mad Max. Never played either but know what to expect with both for the most part.
Anyone have a passionate take on either of these?
Honestly both games are great. If had to choose I would pick ryse. Really fun and polished campaign. One of the few games that have stuck with me long after playing it and really glad to add it to my collection again. Legendary edition to boot plus it has multiplayer if you care about that. Mad max is really fun too at first but is really long and tends to get repetitive. I made the mistake of trying to go after every hidden location which burnt me out. Tons of content for your money in an open world sandbox gsme and they really nailed the mad max universe hands down.

Did I miss the new thread smell, or is it already full of pizza, feet, and feces?

I can't remember why I stopped playing Sword Coast Legends, it could have just been having other games to play and not wanting to repeat what I had played co-op. It could have been that it wasn't great. I just don't remember, but I'm confident it's worth $10 if you're a fan of tactical rpgs and/or the Forgotten Realms D&D setting.

Dark Souls 2 has a lot of filler areas and really feels like areas were designed separately and then tacked together with no care for building an interconnected world. That said, it's a solid Souls game with a lot of improvements over the first and a good entry point for newcomers to the series.

Mad Max is a pretty great Assassin's Creed sandbox reskin. I paid $10 and have no regrets at that price.

Diablo III UEE is now $20 at Gamestop. Looks permanent since the used price is now $18.xx.

Wish I'd have known before buying it on sale, I'd rather have a disc copy for the same price since there's resell value in it, esp considering I bought it w/ trade credit.

Dark Souls 2 is a fantastic starting point if you are curious about the games.  It is less linear at the beginning, so you can go to a different place if one path is frustrating you (Tower vs. Forest), the mechanics are great and it plays well.  The DLC is also really, really good.  Dark Souls 1 is fantastic as well, but it can be very disorienting at the beginning because there is only one way to go and the path to go tends to be easily missable by new players.

I have doubts if we ever get another decent TMNT game.  Platinum was the best opportunity, and they failed spectacularly.  Personally I'd love a four player side scroller in the realm of the classic arcade games with a more complex fighting system.  A 3D perspective doesn't work for couch co-op (though it obviously needs online play as well), which I really think a good Turtles game needs.

Many did not like the Turtles in Time remake, but I had a great time with it and my sons.  The main issue is they used the arcade as a model instead of the SNES version that had some great alterations/levels.  It was some old school fun, too bad it is delisted and you can't get it if you didn't buy when it was available.

I've played like over 25 hours of Diablo 3 on different characters and decided last night I hate the game. I know some people enjoy it, and maybe it was the class I was (witch doctor) but even at the higher difficulties I just stood around either holding the A or Y buttons until I fell asleep while playing. I guess those types of games just aren't for me.

I did however finish Halo Wars Definitive last night and it was excellent. Hadn't played it when it first came out on 360 so it was all fresh to me really. Those cutscenes too, some of the best in the entire Halo Series

Started Jotun as well. Very simple game design, but really nice hand drawn art. Seems like its a pretty quick play through

I also didn't think Mutants in Manhattan was that bad. Definitely not great, but not terrible when played coop

I get why some might feel that way about Diablo 3. I really do. But I love it. Once you level up more and you have more skills you can use at a time, it does get a bit better, but in my experience it's pretty much exactly as you said. Hold one button while basically buffing yourself or using high damage cooldowns.

I enjoy it for the simple fact that I can play music and turn my brain off and just slaughter hordes of demons while feeling like I'm actually progressing because you pretty much never stop leveling and getting stronger and finding better loot.

But again, I see why it wouldn't be appealing to everyone else. Just like most multiplayer shooters are not appealing to me. At least you gave it a shot before deciding it wasn't your kinda game.

As expected, Rime is coming to XB1 in May. (Was PS4 only before disappearing for a while.)

Re-reveal trailer from IGN at the spoiler.

https://youtu.be/PMIdDAllGMM
Rime will get a disc release, too. May 9 according to Amazon. $23.99 w/ Prime or GCU.

Related to Diablo 3, has anyone who played D3 also played Trove, in beta right now on the XB1? Is the gameplay concept pretty similar? Go somewhere, whack a bunch of enemies, get loot, pray that it's better than what you have, level up, repeat?

It's like an RPG Minecraft. I played it for an hour and got bored of it.

Yup Blur Studios, curious if they boosted the cinematics but I'll guess not since they were pretty spectacular to begin with.
Congrats, now go for the Gold times and score for each mission. 👍

"RPG Minecraft"? I need more details/examples because I can't wrap my mind around it. Two completely different games, so I'm genuinely trying to figure out what you're saying...

Woot woot. Hopefully we hear something about it being a part of EA Access soon.

Hopefully they learned from Dragon Age. I love being able to explore big areas but fetch quests were grueling and the story was kinda meh.

Looking forward to the EA Access trial before I decide how much to throw down and when.

Yeah, I'm not sure about the cutscenes or not, but they looked really good. Not worrying about gold times yet, got way too many games to get through to get hung up

Since they are still actively developing the game, there is a pretty good chance you wouldn't want to part with the disc anyway. :)

Thanks for the information! I already own D3 digitally on both the XB1 and PS4 (got both in December on sale), and physically on the PS4, but will pick up an XB1 disc copy for my collection. Fantastic game with tons of content.

Anyone interested should jump on this. GS dropped the price of Doom to $19.99 for a short time, then it went back up to$39.99. The same thing will probably happen here.

Doubt it's permanent they did the same thing to doom last week it was 20$ new and 18.99$ used. It's back up to 40$ new and 28 used.

Are there differences between the PS4 and XB1 versions as far as features and/or exclusive content?

I'm a little worried about Mass Effect. Either they are going to Mirror's Edge it and just dump it out to die with no promotion or they are going to delay it. I mean after all N7 day falls on a Tuesday this year. That or maybe its a complete mess.

Something is wrong. They have shown nothing substantial of the game and now its out in 2 months? This screams red flag.

Is this another No Man's Sky where they promised the universe and just put out empty space?

It was barely mentioned at E3 for 2 years, 2 N7 days have come to pass with nothing shown except some horrible facial animations.

Something is a miss. I hope I am wrong. I hope it is a pleasant surprise, a new beginning for the franchise. With nothing shown, I'm having my doubts. I think it will end up being middle of the road. It wont be as terrible as original 3 but it wont be as good as 1 or 2.

I would be very careful if you are planning to buy it digitally. Buy it with GCU or gamefly it. A new engine, nothing shown, and it being randomly dropped should be a concern, even if you are made of money or don't care because it is Mass Effect. Be intelligent and don't reward them blindly. They haven't given you a reason that this will be worthwhile. At the very least hopefully play the EA access trial first. Now if they don't have a trial for it, then be extremely concerned.

Am I the only one that found Mad Max kind of boring after a while? Like the first 5 hours were fun, then it just got repetitive. I loved Shadow of Mordor so I don't know why I couldn't love Mad Max.

I'm still on the fence about ESO gold, diablo 3 and Lego Jurassic world. Even with $130 in credit left, my backlog is so huge that adding games I'm only kind of interested in is silly. I have Skyrim remaster unplayed for that rpg itch and literally every other Xbox one Lego game pre Jurassic world if I want to play a Lego game.

I agree with Trenchalicious, I'm very concerned about such a close release date for ME Andromeda, and there has been very very little substantial footage shown thus far. I was thinking it'd be out in September or October, more time for some extra polish. Now I'm concerned they're gonna rusg it out just to meet a deadline and it'll be a letdown. Hoping to God I'm wrong.

i didn't like it either

bad controls and boring bland world, i don't think there were any similarities to shadow of mordor which was a great game

That would be in keeping with the original game.

Am I reading this right that the Diablo 1 content will only be available during January? That would suck, because I'd love to play this, just not right at this moment.
