This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

What troubles me is that I don't know what happened exactly. If I missed one, the counter went wrong at one point ..........Oh, and of course I don't even know if a new playthrough would fix issues. What if I encounter the glitch again? Hours wasted.
I had a smiliar issue with the original Saint's Row. There was like over 100 locations you need to graffiti/tag and I apparently missed one. I had the original guide book with me and I was wondering why this one didn't appear. To be thorough, I went to every single location again to double check. Found the one where I should be able to tag and it......just wasn't there. The wall I needed to tag.

I started a new game, drove to that location and lo' and behold, it was there to tag. So something wrong with my game/save. Oh well. Never got that achievement 7+ years ago and I still think about it a few times a year lol I'll never go back to it again though for fear of it repeating

Here's hoping for another good sale week.  Would love a sale on Pinball FX2 single tables that haven't ever been on sale. My "to get" list is getting shorter and shorter, but there are still a few things I'd like sales on...

After Burner Climax (I know it's been on sale before but I missed it)

Arkanoid Live

Choplifter HD

Crystal Quest

Gyruss

Penny Arcade's eps 1 and 2

Poker Smash (went on sale when I was still new to Gold and thought it would be back)

Super Contra

Scramble

Gatling Gears was removed from the marketplace. If you didn't get it, it's gone forever now. Interestingly enough, you can still download the demo http://www.trueachievements.com/n16630/gatling-gears-removed-from-xbla.htm

Why does it feel like I'm always posting about things getting delisted from the XBL marketplace in here??? :wall:
That's weird. Gatling Gears wasn't that bad, though it froze on me twice right at the end of levels and after the second time I just gave up on it.

That article seems to suggest that MS pulls games that sell too poorly, but that can't be true. There's no way Street Trace: NYC (and a plethora of other ancient XBLA games) all sold better than Gatling Gears.

I am basically a glitch-magnet, I seem to be attracting game-breaking (or achievement-breaking) glitches in nearly every game I play. Things not appearing is amazingly common for me, was just posting here some days ago that I had a whole set of climbable chains in Duke Nukem Manhattan Project XBLA that... simply didn't appear, they were invisible, and I only knew I am supposed to jump there was that I watched a YouTube gameplay where it was there. Now this collectible glitch where effectively one thing I did grab did not count, and it's not there anymore if I go back, would only be there if I restarted and went for the 95 collectibles again... baffling, really, us CAGs often work on our backlog of stuff bought on sales, thus we get to a lot of enjoyable games months/years later, and still these giant gamebreaking things appear. Not even surprised at faulty launches and releases anymore (see how Telltale seems to unable to deliver a smooth launch with any The Wolf Among Us episode), but when you go back to a fairly well-knwo and expensive game from years ago, that should have likely been patched multiple times, and it turns out it's still a broken mess... damn it. Ultra-annoying when you're working on completing something, you spend many hours on it and then it just doesn't work because of a game error. Might be karma for the F1 2011, Minecraft, etc. achievements that unlocked due to glitches when I did not meet the requirements.

Apparently the new sales are, once again, the billion DLCs for Borderlands 2. I sure hope there'll be other things on sale as well, because Borderlands 2 DLCs go on sale around once a month, having a whole week dedicated to that would be largely disappointing.
do_not_want_cat.jpg

Considering this is my last Gold sale for awhile (my live expires tomorrow), this is far from the kind of sale I want to see.  Hell, even if my Gold sub wasn't expiring this isn't the sort of sale I'd want to see.  Borderlands 2 stuff goes on sale roughly as often as Rockstar content does.  I know there isn't much stuff that hasn't been on sale at least once, but I'm positive they could find something fresh to put up there.

There's stuff (even 2K stuff, since we're talking Borderlands) that only went on sale (or decent sales anyway) once or twice. I get it, they announced a new Borderlands 2.5, a DLC sold as a full-price game, hooray, but is this really a reason to have another identical sale again? I'd take random XBLA games any day.

I didn't know, so thanks, but what's even better is that they've dropped the points required for the $3 card from 360 to 290.
Alright, I'm gonna go hardcore CAG right now.......290 bing points is approximately 96 2/3 points per $1. Extrapolate that out to $5 and it's 483 2/3 bing points. NOW, you can get a $5 gamestop card for 475 bing points. Then you can go to gamestop and get a $5 XBL card. So that's a whole savings of 8 2/3 bing points. Yes, the algebra nerd in me has done the math countless times.

And don't tell me gas and tax blow this savings deal I've found. No tax on digital cards here in the IE(Southern CA) and I'm not wasting gas cause I pop into gamestop like once every two months to buy a cheap 360 game with a League of Angels coupon or "rent" a quick game that can be beat in less than 7 days. CAG FOR LIFE

Damn, with all the 2K related sales lately, I knew a BL week was coming sooner or later. At least EVERYTHING's included this time (aside from Headhunter #5), including the skins, so there'll be a bunch of first-time sales. I've had things to buy these past two weeks, guess my wallet could use the break.

The witching hour is almost upon us. Also, new GwG Wednesday.

Edit: Would it kill them to put the stuff 75% off, at least? Hell, I'd probably be in for some skins at that price.

Don't worry, you're not alone. I do this kind of mental math all the time. Well done.

Looking forward to picking up the Headhunter DLCs for BL2. Other than those four packs and the Mechromancer, I have all the BL2 content available that isn't strictly cosmetic. Considering I don't want to start yet another character, I will once again pass on the Mechromancer pack.

That said, I'm disappointed to hear that this is the sale we are getting. I was really hoping for another gamertag change sale.

Wouldn't mind this on PSN. DLC goes on sale over there so much less frequently than on Xbox 360. Not sure if that's a blessing or a curse...

That was the season pass (Rally DLC and a few car packs) that was on sale (I think it was $15?) but yeah you might be waiting awhile before it comes up again. I don't think they sold the Rally Expansion separately but if the season pass in on sale again, I suggest picking that up :)
Yep, that's what I recall, $15 for the Season Pass during the holidays. Don't recall the Rally Pack being on sale. The Season Pass is the Rally Pack and all the car packs except the pre-order cars (only 5 cars). I don't recall it being on sale another time during 2013. If you wanted to get the 1000 Club Achievements, you have to get the Season Pass for several of them. Pretty great sale, though admittedly, I think the car packs are overpriced to begin with.

Ugh I got about 2 or 3 hours into BL2 and I hated it. I haven't played it in months now. I don't want any DLC for it lol.

Where's a new Brothers in Arms game? I'm tired of Borderlands.

Future
On 18 June 2009 Gearbox Software applied to the United States Patent and Trademark Office for 4 trademarks with a "War Hero" suffix, "Brothers in Arms War Hero" being one of them.[25][26] On 25 June Gearbox's president Randy Pitchford confirmed that the company was interested in developing a "War Hero" game in the unspecified future, however he added that there was no publisher signed to the project and the company was not ready to talk about it publicly.[27]

A new game titled Brothers In Arms: Savage 7 has been sighted for sale on the website of British retailer Gamestation.[28] Although the game has not been officially announced by Gearbox, the sales date of 'late 2011' suggests a release in the not too distant future. However, the link now directs to the page for Furious 4.

In an interview promoting Borderlands 2 with IGN, Randy Pitchford stated a new Brothers in Arms game is in development and he also explained why Furious 4 has become a new IP. However, Furious 4 no longer follows a historical storyline and will be complete fiction combined with outrageous characters and non-historical weapons. This news brought mostly negative remarks from fans of the series, and numerous polls suggest most players are against and don't favor this change. No news or comments were made as to why the Developers decided on the change from history to fiction.[29]

There hasn't been a non-mobile game since Hell's Highway. It's dead, Jim. Probably due to oversaturation of military FPS in the video game market.

By the laws of modern day industry greed, if one IP sells, don't bother with others. Borderlands 2 sold well, and so did the 290420420 DLCs for it, hence the upcoming full-priced DLC-in-a-box. Why bother with other things?

Alright, I'm gonna go hardcore CAG right now.......290 bing points is approximately 96 2/3 points per $1. Extrapolate that out to $5 and it's 483 2/3 bing points. NOW, you can get a $5 gamestop card for 475 bing points. Then you can go to gamestop and get a $5 XBL card. So that's a whole savings of 8 2/3 bing points. Yes, the algebra nerd in me has done the math countless times.
Just get the $5 XBL card for 470 Bing points, instead.

Sooooo much dissapoint....gearboxxxxxx!!!! Guess I'll just have to go back and replay Hells Highway.

MS seems to have been following playstation's lead on sales lately.  PSN has the lego games on sale for tomorrow so maybe we'll see some of those on top of the borderlands dlc fiesta.

Really annoying because anything else I'm missing seems absolutely feasible to pull off, but having to do an extra playthrough (or an exceptionally slow Hard run) totally annoys me given how well I planned out what to do in this game, since I'm wanting to finish it so I can delete it (need space).

Oh, and of course I don't even know if a new playthrough would fix issues. What if I encounter the glitch again? Hours wasted.
To speed things up, as the game already fucked you up, you can (and should) use the immortality code in your hard playthrough. It doesn't disable achievements if you do it correctly. It's very well explained in xbox360achievements and other pages, but if you have any doubt, send me a pm
basically, you have to enter the code, press start and exit to main menu before the game autosaves. Then you continue your play again, and surprise, the code is still active though it didn't save. You have to do it like that every time you play the game
.

Now that you guys are talking about Borderlands, if anyone is down to play Moxxi's DLC for BL1, send me a friend request here
GT: EloyOn
. Right now I'm a level 41 character, so if I host, enemies will be my level (or so I read), and it will be easy with some high leveled partners. Playing that shit alone is something I don't want to do, since it takes so much time.

CAG FOR LIFE
I always get the Amazon $5 GC for 475 and use it to buy a $5 XBL code. Seems a lot easier.

Fallout DLC for the 20th time!

It's like Microsoft completely ignores the fact that DLC exists for it's XBLA games.

How about a DLC sale on Magic The Gathering DLC, or Keflings, or Motocross Madness, or any other XBLA game w/ DLC?

Also, a LOT of Pinball FX2 tables are on sale right now.
HELL. YES.

Looks like at least half off of most of the individual tables that I don't have yet... all the packs say "already purchased" so I can't confirm prices. But this is JUST what I was asking for a couple of pages ago. <3

Or they could put those damn Street Fighter X Tekken characters on sale, FINALLY.

You know what really pisses me off about Microsoft? Oh, they'll sell you games for a reasonable price, as long as they're the kind of games they want you to buy. No, I don't want more Halo. No, I'm not interested in Bioshock or Grand Theft Auto. Sometimes I think that if you're not a member of Microsoft's army of Dew-guzzling dudebros, the company doesn't give a damn about you.

Also looks like Batman-related stuff is the Deal of the Week.  Arkham City for $4.99, Arkham Asylum for $4.99 and Lego Batman 2 for $6.59.
