This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Darksiders II is $15
Hell Yeah! is $3.74

Ass Creed Bro is  $10

Just to note, several Amazon vendors sell Darksiders II for like $16 w/prime shipping if you want a physical copy.

This is Ultimate Game sale not Ultimate DLC sale.
I think it's more of a "oh, crap look at those NPD numbers, we better get our shxt together, and get rid of the Xbox 360 games while we still can, so we can focus more on the One" sale. All the better for me. Nothing up that I haven't already played, or really have interest in. Although, that Middle Earth game dropped like a rock. They must be getting ready to turn the servers off.

For the European CAGs, AC Brotherhood is 5 Euros here. 5 motherfucking Euros, people. If you for whatever reason don't own it yet, that's a price you can't skip. It was 15 last summer, for comparison.

I liked the Ezio games, specifically AC II, the best out of all the AC games. It really feels like they've jumped the shark with the new ones. What's next? A Civil War AC, WW I, WW II? A World War II one would be cool though: taking out Nazis and all...

Please provide an explanation of how Levine should have handled this correctly. Also, please provide detailed information of how Irrational Games is structured, Ken Levine's ownership of it, employee contract information and other relevant information that helped you form your opinion.

There's a whole lot of information and details that most people don't know (and probably will never know). Ken Levine could be a wonderful guy or a horrible person. To jump to the conclusion that Ken Levine is a jerk simply from limited information new stories out today is incredibly sophomoric.
Laying off 100+ people from a healthy (money-wise) company is never a good move. Of course we don't know the details, but it sure doesn't look good for him, especially since he pretty much just said "hey, I want a smaller team now". He could have just moved out to make his own small company, or made multiple divisions inside Irrational. Firing a hundred or so people to concentrate on a different project... seems like a low blow, no matter how I look at it, especially given the kind of fame and success these people helped him achieve thanks to the critically acclaimed and well-sold Bioshock games.

Levine is a tool, laying off 100+ people who made him rich and famous by creating some of the most appreciated games of the last gen (that also sold bloody well), just because he wants to work on a smaller project. His ego just potentially destroyed the lives of many, many talented programmers, and even though Irrational is helping them find another job, it's just a dick move altogether. I feel sad for the programmers, not for the brand, and definitely not for Levine who's being a giant douche here.
I am pretty positive Take Two owns Irrational games. It would not be Levine's call to just shut things down. If there were tons of money being made they would keep doing it. They will make a Bioshock game on a better budget than Infinite had which was pretty large from my understanding.

Edit: In fact it says the games being made going forward will be paid for and published by Take-Two.

I remember when they were developing AC1, they talked about a trilogy plan. The first game as it was, then one in the present, and one in the future. I'd take the future one. Of course they saw the money and decided to make 229429 games for each time period (which is not necessarily bad, Brotherhood is still great), but I'm looking forward to futuristic Assassinations.

Back on subject; Darksiders 2 for $15?  Why is this not a $5 game yet?  It's a couple years old and the studio and publisher don't even exist any more.  What gives?

Yeah $15 is still too high for me. I would bite at $7.50. Someone owns the rights though.

Edit: Nordic Games.

WW II... Desmond controlling uncle Adolf through animus... yeah i can see the possibilities XDD

The post on the website seems to imply that 2K owns the Bioshock IP, and Levine's comment at the end implies that the devs are looking for a new home. The studio firing all these people instead of just having the 15 split off into a separate entity is terrible. It makes both 2K and Levine look like shit.

So, I loved Alan Wake (favorite game I played on the 360) but I've heard mixed things about American Nightmare.

Without the, "Just buy it, it's $3" line, is it worth playing? Or does it depart too far from the original game?

Yeah, I think I got it for 10 from Gamefly a year ago. Always kinda laugh at big digital discounts when brick and mortar blow them out of the water for a resell-able version.

It's worth it. I didn't feel like it really departed from the original. If anything it felt like they were trying to wrap up a story that was intended to on for a couple of games kind of quickly, but that's exactly what they did. Gameplay-wise it's pretty much exactly the same.

Still too much for this rushed and buggy game. Also there are unobtainable achievements, which probably never would be fixed.

Lost Planet 2 is complete rat excrement, fellas. Don't waste your money.
It's not for the money, now is pretty cheap. Game is arse and not worth losing time with. Online community is probably dead by now and the game is all about mp/co-op.

Yup, unredeeming game, but pretty funny when the third [Lost Planet 3] was releasing in 2013 yet LP2 was suddenly declared the funnest TPS on message boards (cough NeoGAF cough). :/

Had a lot more fun with Guardians of Middle-Earth than I thought I would.  No problems joining games at all.  Made it to level 3 off a few matches on my first sit down.  Playing again tonight for sure.

The intro to Dante's Inferno was freaking great.  No spoilers but I love how you grab your first weapon.  The environments are brutal.  I never played God of War so I am really digging this one as well.

Was looking forward to more sales but I don't think there is anything for me day 2.

Alright, will definitely buy then.

thanks for the reply (and you burnalive)

Does R.U.S.E have a decent single player campaign?
I never even touched multiplayer and had a blast in the single player campaign. Can't even comment on what the multiplayer is like. I'm assuming it's fairly good if there's anyone out there playing it for an older obscure RTS console game. But the single player campaign alone is worth the price of entrance.

The achievements are now obtainable again, as the servers were turned back on.

Major Nelson posted a few more games that haven't been picked up by XBLDB yet.

Fruit Ninja Kinect 90% off

Soul Calibur II HD Online 75% off

Farming Simulator 50% off

Can I just bitch for a second about how ridiculous it is that the Capcom Arcade Cabinet is over 1GB in size? I know all us CAG hoarders are tight for HD space at the moment and I realize that the base game probably has all the other games in it that are just unlocked through a 300KB key file (though I haven't really looked so I could be wrong) - what the hell was capcom doing that they couldn't take a bunch of arcade games and create a simple emulator with a front end that was just maybe like 100MB total? It's a bit dodgy of them not to optimize it better.

How is R.U.S.E. relative to Halo Wars? Do battles last an hour or 15 minutes?
I never played Halo Wars and, again, I never played R.U.S.E. multiplayer but from what I recall most of the single player levels/battles took about 15-30 minutes to complete. Though I remember playing on a fairly challenging mode and having to restart levels a few times cause I made some mistakes along the way as I was learning the game.

Major Nelson posted a few more games that haven't been picked up by XBLDB yet.

Fruit Ninja Kinect 90% off

Soul Calibur II HD Online 75% off

Farming Simulator 50% off
Damn, I bought Soul Calibur II HD like two months ago 50%. If I knew that it would be 75% so soon after that... :speaktothehand: At least I played and already completed it :joystick:

edit: hahaha, my first sentece is almost exactly the same as what Ryuukishi said, and I didn't read his post (because I was writing by the time he posted it) LOL

I Did the same thing since Namco rarely puts their stuff on sale and the first Soul Calibur has yet to go on sale as well. In short...

Lost Planet 2 can be fun with a group, but then again so can most games no matter how bad if you're playing with the right set of people.

But yeah, playing that shit alone is not advised.

I almost want to try that Farm Simulator if it got extremely cheap as well just because, one of those games that just makes you go really?! lol

Hmmm, would consider Hell Yeah!! if it was a little cheaper than that... It's a good price, I guess, but... I want to pay less for it ($2).

SC2 at 75% off will probably make me bite.

What are the deals that expire tomorrow morning again?  Need to figure out if I need to do any last-minute downloads/decisions...
