  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.

Thanks. Now I have to decide whether to buy Condemned or not. My backlog is huge. I tried the demo. It reminded me a little of dead island which is a game I really liked. However, I'm not a big fan of bad lighting. I know its supposed to be atmospheric, but I prefer to see the game I'm playing. Is the whole game mostly just walking down dark coridors with a flashlight, cause that seems like it would get boring fast.

I haven't played it since it first came out, but I think there's a decent amount of combat.

That's my biggest complaint about Outlast. The game looks so good, but you have to use the camera to take notes or see in the dark. I'd love a flashlight mode instead of a camera. Even without night vision the color changes a bit when using the camera.

Thanks. My friend is going to be SO pissed. He has the longest streak of already owning all these GwG games. He bought Battleblock during the last sale (~$5 in April) and I had told him to wait. He didn't. Time to rub it in his face. ;)

How to tell Major Nelson is just checking it in....when he copies and pastes without reading the whole thing:

Don't see that second of two titles listed anywhere....

Well, i'm starting to get the feeling. The pattern is: really low price on sales = soon GwG, soon to be delisted or rockstar games. 

My fourth GwG that i already own, it pisses me. So my condolonces to all those fellow CAG that are doing worse than i am.

At least it looks like I was right that it wouldn't be two XB1 games per month every month. That seemed unreasonable, although indie games are starting to come out a lot more frequently. Guacamelee is excellent.

Nobody has raged that they're all downloadable games yet? Whenever PS+ gets the majority download-only games people like to flip out.

Always wanted to play Gotham City imposters but never really wanted to spend the money on it.

Weird they kept Max and the Curse of Brotherhood as the 2nd free game for Xbox One, not too surprising since there isn't really much they can give away right now but man it would have been nice to see something else.

Yeah, I just bought Battleblock in the last sale. And got Max Payne 3 last week so that will surely be an August GwG going by my current luck.

How long before you realize different people view Gold and Games with Gold differently, and some don't consider the games a bonus but rather a core feature of why they subscribed in the first place?

I'm not condoning blaming MS for games that you already own (that's idiotic), but not everybody considers GwG a bonus perk to their Gold subscription.

Saved me money on Guacamelee. Just bought Battleblock on Steam and avoided playing much story (has a lot of player made levels) in case if a $1 sale or GWG. Very happy.

Disappointing about Max, but if I read the fine print I would have seen it coming (the free game deal expires in August for Max...).

I got Guacamelee through a humble bundle but I look forward to playing the shit out of it on X1 especially with the enhanced features.

Batman Gotham City Impostors looks meh, but free is free. A game I actually don't own.

Battle Block Theater was the last good exclusive released last year on XBLA that eventually went to Steam. I'm quite happy that's free as well considering I don't own it.

Outside of the Max lame re-peat it is defenitely a good month. I know Sony has put games free twice before but two months in a row? Hopefully this is a one time thing from MS and they up their game in August by offering two free new games.

I'm hoping this is fake. I never complain about the game selection, because I have been lucky enough to not own 90% of them. This is fuck ing lame though. I am the rare white rhino that pays for gold almost exclusively for the GwG games. A multiplayer only game is worthless to me. And no retail game? Cmon.

Why would you view GwG as one of the core reasons for subbing when you're just going to blindly let yourself be disappointed each month?

What are there? 1,000+ different possible choices for GwG, and you're going to complain about it each month because it's not what you want but still let that be one of the main reasons you buy Gold

They're probably going to have 2 Games with Gold for X1 in rotation, each for two months. So this month Halo leaves and Guacamelee comes, then next month Max will leave and something new will come in, but Guacamelee will stay. So probably 1 new game each month, but a total of 2 in the rotation.

That's my guess anyway.

I'm with Tyler. They've set a precedent with this program, which got me to subscribe to gold again after a two year lapse. I expect them to follow through with it. One retail game a month is part of that.
 
So a few people said Guacamelee is available now. Where are you seeing this?

EDIT: I'd prefer no retail games in GWG. A lot of them can be beaten in a weekend anyways. So can digital only games, but with retail games you can rent them for a couple bucks (or free with Redbox). I'd much rather have a $15 arcade game be free than a retail game that I can finish for under $5.

Fine print on XB1 Games with Gold says 1 *NEW* game a month.

Well fuck.

That at least gives people two months of a chance with Guacamelee I guess.
