  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

The SP gives you nine extra maps (three packs of three, plus achievements), with two packs already released. If you've played Titanfall before and are looking forward to more/new content, the SP extends the life of the game (each map is compatible with all gameplay modes). After playing the game at launch almost non-stop, the new maps hooked me after I took a break for a bit to play PvZ. Of the six maps released, I'd say Swampland (from the first pack) and Dig Site (second pack) are my favorites.

That's what all the cool Sony kids are saying but it seems to be that MS bought the rights completely. Who knows. If they make another edition for PS4 and I like it that much I might play it on ps4. But probably not. The only ps4 game I want right now is Bloodborne (and it looks good), maybe I'll dust mine off before then.

The Order looks cool too. But there's like 3 or 4 games I really wanna play on the Indiestation that don't look like the devs were fucked up on schrooms and purple drank when they designed them. Sony needs more "event" games and less "fuuuuuuuuck I'm hiiiiigh maaan let's make a gaaaaaame for free on PS Now" type shit.

It will be on PS4 eventually. You can bet on it. If Square didn't like the 4 million copies the previous game sold at launch, they're going to be even less happy with the smaller sales number from the new game only being on one platform. It could be like a Ninja Gaiden Sigma-type thing.

Hell, even Mass Effect 1 eventually made its way to PlayStation eventually, and it was funded partly by Microsoft.

The difference this time is MS gave them money. That makes it easier to not care as much about how many copies are sold.

You can't compare this to Mass Effect. Bioware was bought by EA, which is the only reason ME1 ended up on PS3.

Just bookmark Spylon's site (XBLDB.COM) which automatically scrapes xbox.com and updates as soon as it detects a sale price, then check it religiously every Monday evening, refreshing over and over ad nauseum.


By the by, is Spylon dead...? I can't remember the last time he peeked his head in. :whistle2:S

By the time ROTTR comes out next December, the X1 install base will be significantly higher. Halo 5 and the MCC is going to move a ton of systems, nobody can dispute that. Its not like the system is doing poorly right now anyway. Its just not getting by on hype at an astonishing rate like Sony is.

Aren't they also launching in more territories soon too? Unfortunately, many people will still dispute that. Hell, today I read people commenting that Xbox One had only sold 3.5 million because Sony had outsold them 3 to 1. Most people still say that the Xbox One was a flop.
 
OP is updated with the new sales / markdowns. Still need to look into the Ubisoft server situation. Heck, I think Age of Booty multiplayer might still be up after the Gamespy shutdown. TrueAchievements hasn't marked any achievements as unobtainable.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Had a lot of seniority there (over 10 years), so unused vacation pay and a severance give me a good amount of time to find something. Not the first time I've been laid off, but it's still jarring. If I do find something quickly, I'll be able to take the next gen plunge ahead of my original plans. To provide a silver lining to the day, I stopped in at my local TRU on the way home and found a Masterpiece Prowl and a Masterpiece Sunstorm. Glad to have beaten the eBay scalpers to them.

Yeah, I've been kicking around the idea of starting a new topic for a while. Got the time to do it now. It's been a while since I've gotten a notice at the top of the page when there's a new post in the topic (except when someone quotes me), but I keep the Content You Follow page open and just refresh that to see if something new's been posted in the topics I follow.

Too early to tell. Sounds like what Xbox One was going to have before the disc lovers got angry. Then later it turned out that what was planned might have been terrible anyways. The article makes it sound like you can only play games with local multiplayer (is this a thing anymore?) or play single player games when your friend is playing which might not be fun for the friend. Probably will be great for sports and maybe fighting games if the lag from streaming isn't too horrible.

That said, this feature might be the reason I get a PS4. Depends on how restricted it is. I'd be very surprised if they let you have access to online multiplayer and give you unlimited time to play single player games for all titles.

Well, that was an underwhelming conference by EA for sure. Over 20 minutes for Dragon Age was overkill - the game looks amazing but still too much for a single game. The sports games hardly seem to offer much news. The new BioWare game looks okay, nothing groundbreaking so far though. The Sims 4 is barely any different from The Sims 3, graphics and gameplay-wise as well. Hardline looks okay but, not unlike COD, it seems like they've been watching other games and thinking "hey, we need that too!" rather than having one original idea. Also nothing from PopCap? Nothing about Mirror's Edge? No Battlefront? No new Need For Speed? Boring.

 
Thanks to whoever mentioned the Titanfall deal/trade. I think I'll convert that to digital and trade in my disc this week. For MP games like that that I plan on holding onto it's worth it.

I noticed earlier that they have a new $0.99 DLC for PvZGW skins. Maybe that has something to do with it. Not sure. Still, that's a big update.

No new achievements to report yet. I recently traded in my copy and might pick it up again later for super cheap since I got 100% achievements and it's been awhile since I've played. What a fun game. I'm actually hoping and suspecting it'll be one of the next titles to be added to EA Access. I wonder if EA will add to the Vault quarterly or sooner/later. I just subscribed today. I probably should have waited but figured why not dive in?

I guess both players will have to be ps+ subscribers or whatever is the Gold equivalent in Sony. Beyond that we can only speculate but i don't think it would be time limited or else this great feature would become just nothing. I was thinking more about beat'm'ups and platformers than sports. Games like charlie murder, castle crashers, battleblock theater, splosion man and similar would play nice with that.

 
$25 is tempting for TF. I have the disc but I could probably sell it for a little more and pick up the DLC. I really am liking digital but at the same time I like having the disc on the shelf, lol

Still planning to go with an Xbone initially when I go next-gen, but between The Order, Rime, WiLD, etc., I'm starting to get jealous of all these cool PS4 games. :lol:

There is no way Microsoft gave them enough money to offset the 2 million+ copies that Tomb Raider would sell on any platform, are you kidding? Furthermore, Square-Enix is one of the most prestigious publishers in their homeland. That's their primary market and they do extremely well there. That advantage can't be underestimated. The last time they tried the exclusivity thing it led to Infinite Undiscovery, Last Remnant, and the sinking of one of their flagship brands.

Name even one franchise that has successfully jumped to a different platform and spurned years of fans. Tomb Raider has always been available on PlayStation and they'd be incredibly stupid to throw away that kind of cachet other companies can only dream of.

Final Fantasy VII becoming a PSX exclusive after initial N64 test footage was shown. The world's first betrayalton. :lol:

And on topic, Tomb Raider 1 was released for both PSX and Sega Saturn, and then Tomb Raider 2 went PlayStation exclusive.

On the one hand, I was wrong. Not dead wrong in terms of the game being exclusive for quite a while it seems, but wrong that it widely exclusive forever which seems unpractical in retrospect.

Regardless, this is still great. I can't wait till the game launches and hopefully the Sony fanboy meltdown can finally stop.

I didn't even think about FF7. That's a great example, though there haven't been any cases like that in almost 20 years. I also thought you said "Betraystation" and found that hilarious.

The Tomb Raider doesn't count since it wasn't "years" at all.

Now you're trying to backpedal. Your previous post made it sound like it should be apparent to everyone why Tomb Raider would be a non-timed Xbox exclusive. Then you deride PlayStation customers to further mitigate your embarrassment. Can't you make a non-politician mea culpa?

It really does kick ass. I'm not a PvP guy at all, but I love Titanfall. My enjoyment of it has been given new life with the Frontiers Edge DLC. Hit me up if you want to get a crew together. I play with a couple guys pretty regularly and we have a good time.
 
I was figuring that it would be 2 years before I got an X1. If it hadn't been for Best Buy practically handing me one for free, there's no way I would have jumped in so early.

The sad thing is, all other games will seem slow in comparison. I've had to put the marathon perk on all my CoD classes just so my guy doesn't feel like a lazy ass. And I keep trying to sprint in games that don't even have sprint in it. Lol.
