This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

So am I imagining things or was the paranormal free at one time. I know I have it on 360 and I was just charged for it on XBone. Ugh $2.50 for a table I didn't even like. The rest of my tables seem to be transferring just fine.
It was a NoDAK mentioned and it was actually one of my favorite tables when I got it.

Why does it matter? You probably wouldn't even play the main game for more than a couple of hours when you buy the GOTY edition on clearance in 2018.
Hah, right? In a game like Destiny, things are pretty time-sensitive. You wanna progress WITH the your friends and the entire community. I'm cheap as can be, but that's one thing I won't mind paying full price for.

Which camera angle do u guys play Pinball on, just wanna know what the best one is cause it feels too zoomed in alot.
I use View 5 a lot.. I think? If I'm remembering correctly it's a partially zoomed-out view that pans up to follow the ball (whichever one that is, that's the one I use).

My problem is often trying to get the size and placement of the little score and "action" windows in the right place, usually I end up with the "action" window on the left or right and the other one in the middle but small, and always with both of them at the top, the bottom placements just seem silly for some reason.

http://au.ign.com/articles/2014/08/14/amazon-lists-xbox-one-and-xbox-360-digital-games

Just curious if anyone noticed this? I haven't had a chance to look through the thread so forgive me if someone else has posted. But this might be really good if anyone has Amazon credit.
Someone posted it already, but it's cool, now it seems to be on gaming news websites so it makes sense talking about it again.

I really hope buying codes becomes more of a thing. First of all, it's more subject to discounts, and second of all, the most important to me, is that I can gift stuff. I often find myself wanting to gift stuff to friends far away but it's so bothersome, if I wanna buy a game may as well get a code or two and just send them on the Internet.

I'm glad that the codes are actually the games and not Xbox Credit. When it branches out to more games and DLC, I can make sure my nephew is buying Minecraft skins and not DOA Extreme Beach Volleyball swimsuits.

Blade table isn't on the Xbox one version? Ugh!
The original Marvel Tables (Spider-Man, Iron Man, Wolverine, and Blade), Excalibur and Earth Defense were supposed to be out on launch but have been delayed.

Plants vs. Zombies, Street Fighter II and Super League Football are coming but at a later date.

Nightmare Mansion, Buccaneer, Rocky & Bullwinkle and Ms Splosion Man are not coming to Xbox One.

Whoa CAG mobile is looking stylish today. Taking a hint from new Steam style.

Anybody got the newest preview update? Hasn't shown up for me yet. How is the new party app? I hope significantly better.

I downloaded it right after you posted that. (actually had it download while I was out)

Check under settings->system to manually install it. That's how I did it.

Xbldb picked up Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel for $20 (50% off). I'm guessing it will be a GwG soon. It seems most GonD that become GwG are $20 or less. A while back I read a GwG FAQ that said the games that will be part of the promotion will be valued at up to $20 each.

It could be a random price drop or sale, or it could be a price drop to make it qualify for GwG. Saints Row: The Third dropped to $20 at the end of March, then it became a GwG in May.

Traded my Titanfall disc into Best Buy for $24.  Purchased the digital Gold Deal for $25.  More than happy with that outcome.
Since I signed up for EA access, I traded FIFA14 in as well.  Got $23 for that one.  That almost covers the $30 annual EA cost.

I hope to God it isn't TDC. I would rather take the 1 or TFD despite them being much older.

After a wonderful relationship last week, it had to end this past Tuesday despite my refusal to put on clothes to avoid the breakup. Sadly, I am clothed now, and I'm just bawling my eyes out in this strange place with discounts on Final Fantasy games I do not necessarily want. Fortunately so much is happening here from WhiteReflection (mmm, Tendou Nabiki) logically figuring out how much Playstation tears we can dine on because of unclear Gamescom information on Tomb Raider to the joys of Pinball FX2. Giving this thread a breath of life while I suffer through a sale period which doesn't really involve me.

Unfortunately, I do not own an Xbox One yet, so all my Pinball FX2 fun still derives from the 360. While I am born before the 40's, I still enjoy pinball a lot, and it is still a fun game to me in physical and digital formats. Pinball, was always another aspect of the old legendary arcades of days past before your time would provide alongside video games and playing with/against friends/rivals. I wouldn't mind duplicating some of that effect with more Xbox Live friends who do enjoy the game on the 360 so I have more scores to shoot for on each table. My gamertag is on my signature below, feel free to add me (and mention CAG, that's critical). Also, it wouldn't hurt if this coming week, the new discounts would include the new Star Wars set, Deadpool table, and Guardians of the Galaxy table; I would buy them in an instant, since I do not measure my value with the game by gamerscore, I also really do find pinball fun, even without the achievements on newer 360 tables. I will admit to looking forward to trying to attain the new achievements once I get to the Xbox One version. Oh yeah one more thing, that Street Fighter table is awful; I am so miserable playing it right now, the angles are so difficult for me to hit consistently, and worse they are all timed, I think you may be saving yourself from my misery by not having that table on the One at this time.

Soooo, any love for Space Invaders Infinity Gene around here? I watched a youtube video and the game is weird as hell. As much as I like shoot'em ups, I'm not sure I would like that game.
It is a wonderful iPod game even inspired a good rhythm game there too with its art design and soundtrack. Similar great control scheme like Espgaluda 2. However, I think the 360 version does lose out on the ability to quickly go from one end of the screen to the other end as you would with the iPod controls to using the d-pad/analog stick. However, the tactile feel of the d-pad/analog stick has its own advantages, especially for old timers as I for shooting games. I really wish this sale also had the DLC on discount as I would have bought that and Gyromancer's just to complete my purchase. However, I have not played much Infinity Gene on the 360, as it is still in my backlog of shooting games on 360 I will never get off my backlog.

Credit to Wario. It looks like MS is selling digital games on Amazon. Don't know if it's credit or the game though.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00MNKZ8OI/189-27-20/

edit: Just tested it and it's a download code for the game and not credit to buy it.
Wasn't Dust: An Elysian Tail along with Max: The Curse of Brotherhood offered for free on the Games with Gold promotion? Even so, this is good news to me knowing there may be a new avenue for discount games. I remember that was how I got the original Galaga Legions for less than the marketplace price, before amazon no longer carried any Xbox Live downloadable codes.

This thread is getting a little crude, fella's. Lets class it up a bit.
I can do class, look I am classy.

Also I made the mistake long ago of getting Crystal Defenders given the lack of XBLA titles in its day, and I had not cut my teeth on tower defense yet (and since I have played a total of 5 all on the 360, including Crystal Defenders, and only liking one which unfortunately isn't Crystal Defenders). Once past the charms of its pixel art presentation with Hitoshi Sakimoto/Masaharu Iwata soundtrack (Final Fantasy Tactics, Radiant Silvergun, Valkyria, etc.) it is actually a game that does not cater to my tastes. To play the game is basically watching the devplay them matching it exactly to get you though the setup, any deviation will result in a loss. The remaining portion still needs to be done in a pretty exact manner for ideal scoring. This rigidity of gameplay doesn't allow for improvisation nor adaptation, it is just rote memorization or more likely hunting down the move/coordinates list online and following it exactly. Which I do not find fun.

I also remembered trying out Yosumin Live! long ago through the demo, again in its day there weren't many XBLA games I found worthwhile. All I can remember of it was that it was pretty forgettable. However if the sales this coming date night are not any good, I may just end out buying it just because, I do not have it and I do not recall it ever getting a discount before. That is a very poor reason for me to get any game, so I hope the sale is good before I start burning my Microsoft funny monies because it reminds me so much of the previous weeks date night.

Hang in there Bloomy, I wish you well in your future endeavors. Hopefully this upcoming date night will make this vacation worthwhile. At least we all get some make-up play with Dishonored tonight, you will have to have the will of Gandhi to refuse that at free!

[EDIT: Sorry whitereflection, I also forgot I could have mentioned our collective hype for the potentially fun gunplay in Quantum Break instead of involving you, but dat Nabiki tho]

Pretty sure the Marvel tables downloaded for me/are available?

Nice on the PvZ and SF tables coming

*sigh* about the others...... (any word on why they aren't coming?)

Traded my Titanfall disc into Best Buy for $24. Purchased the digital Gold Deal for $25. More than happy with that outcome.
Since I signed up for EA access, I traded FIFA14 in as well. Got $23 for that one. That almost covers the $30 annual EA cost.
What's the digital Gold Deal?

So what exactly am I to expect with Dishonored
A game that, from what I've seen, you either love or loathe. I'm down for giving it another shot, but I purchased back in early 2013 when the internet exploded in praise for it and found a C/B-Tier game doing its best to cull all the popular fads/trends of the time and stick em in one game. The stealth (which I love in most games, even when it's done in mediocre fashion) just didn't feel good, steampunky without being steampunky enough to really sell me on the world, an art style that did nothing for me and looked like fanart for another game, Deus Ex-y without enough tools and options to scratch my personal Deus Ex itch, combat that felt completely flat and lifeless when you were lucky enough to not get immediately smoked for some minor error, and an rpg-ish leveling system where you pump points into stuff and some crafting of sorts on the side, all of which wasn't deep or satisfying enough to really give me a great sense of becoming remotely more survivable and deadly OR that I was making truly unique choices based on the way I wanted to play the game and approach it's environments and enemies. I was just choosing what I thought would make my life easier because I was miserable playing it, and once I realized that's what I was doing, I sold it. It was simply one of the most pretentious, devoid of originality, "standing on the shoulders of giants" games I'd ever spent money on at the time. I was worse than just pissed at the game, I was completely apathetic towards every aspect of it.

To those who enjoyed, hey, awesome. Don't look at my post as a personal attack or anything more than my own opinion. I'm glad you did and we should all be so lucky as to enjoy the games we play, more often than not. I just couldn't get myself to see how this game was so lauded. Maybe I fucked up and played it all wrong and someone can help me enjoy it, because I'm gonna give it another chance, but I have a real bad taste left in my mouth from my first go around with.

Midnight Pacific according to some random site I found

I forgot that tonight is free game night.
I'm really curious, how have retail games been coming out in terms of time? I'd love to wake up at 4am just to get started downloading, then go back later. Diablo 3 is definitely a game I'm going to go digital because I don't see them doing another version down the road (Rather them straight working on D4 at this point) and I would never trade it in or sell.

Glad pre-loading is coming starting with Forza Horizon 2 and hope thats a thing to come with all first party titles, and eventually pretty much everything.

Thanks for the heads up on Dishonored, forgot it was past half of the month already.

That makes sense after rereading it. I'm skimming for gold deals and guess I got over excited.
Yup, Xbox Live Gold members have Titanfall for 50% off this week (not too sure when that deal ends - but it's probably listed on the first page of this thread)

If you have a smartphone with Smartglass, you can wake up and start the download without leaving your bed. This is assuming that they are available right at midnight PST. I haven't been checking if games come out on time. If it was $40 on X1 I would've thought about buying it.

If anybody has Project Spark, check out Bloody Ninja. It is a teaser game for a larger project. Less than 2 minutes long teaser, but it looks really good. I'll have a video uploaded by morning on my YT. Played a few other really good ones tonight, but they suffered from frame rate issues.

I have an extra $40 in my ms account after diablo 3 and destiny and its burning a hole in my pocket. i really want valiant hearts and another world but the cag in me says no. it's a never ending war between the gamer and the cag in me raging forward. no but really it'd be nice to see more sales on the non AAA catalogue. what are you all holding out for?

I'm hoping for a sale on Outlast. I think it looks fun and scary but I wouldn't get around to it soon anyways so I'm holding until it goes on sale.
