To quote the great booker t....tell me you didn't just say that. that's like passing up on sonic and knuckles when it came out because the box wasn't as pretty as sonic 3's was.

i got it, it adds all of l4d1's campaigns and a bunch of other stuff to the game, seemed like a no brainer buy to me, many hours of extras added. definitely more worth it than the other 2 l4d2 DLCs, not that they weren't worth it too.
I liked the Cold Stream DLC. Granted, I beat the new campaign in like 50 minutes, but the 4 campaigns from the original L4D game, and the mutations being made permanent and selectable made this pack worth the $7. Somehow, I get the feeling Valve loaded up this pack as a big F U to Microsoft for charging for it. This has got to be the cheapest way available to get the content of the first game without paying the $25 to $30 price it's going for right now.

I ended up getting the other two packs too. Now watch, they'll have a sale on them this week.
I would really like a sale on Risk: Factions, or maybe the Fallout DLC.

[Sarcastic]

Don't forget RDR, Borderlands, Bioshock and GTA4  I'm pretty sure I forgot one in this list...xp
You guys are so negative, yet you are saying something I am thinking. However, I believe they will blow us away with something new for the upcoming unknown DotW. Something like the avatar grill prop at 50% off, meaning only 80MSP! Don't forget we also have the Sales and Specials + app too now, which may even offer Kinect Sparkler at "save 40MSP!" That would be impressive ...
I'm really not feeling SoA this year and I'm usually a huge fan. I think the only game I didn't buy in the past was Galaga.
I eventually got almost all of them too, except for the Kinect ones (I just don't have the peripheral to justify purchasing the titles). We have seen Summer of Arcade titles go for some discount usually towards the coming new years. I am still very interested in Dust: An Elysian Tail (even at 1200MSP) and I am hoping for a discount on the countdown to new years for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD and Deadlight. I have the patience.

I'm not familiar with the soul/blues musician, but I am in the USA and I didn't think the Sonic 3 box was as good as the Japanese box. I also passed on Sonic and Knuckles because my resources were much more limited at the time, and I chose to use them on other games at that time.

I'm really old, and in my day I did play video games for a simple reason as to have fun. Yet, I accept that the youngin's can play games primarily for accomplishments and gamernumbers as well these days. I have purchased the XBLA Sonic CD, even though I have a working WonderMega and X'eye with both the original JP and US Sonic CD, mainly because it was on sale for just 200MSP and the little new content I get with such as the the aforementioned accomplishments and gamernumbers. I do see accomplishments as fun goals to try to attain, but for the most part I do not base my video game play around them, but I know some persons do, and that's their choice. Sadly, I've run out of L4D friends, and I think I may wait and hope for a sale on the DLC, unless enough on my friends list gets it and convinces me to get in the game, I'll hold off (but still open to it at 560MSP).

Hey if it wasnt for GS putting Dead Island GOTY, i probably would of bought ryder white. Im an achievement whore just like the enxt one, but if I can get a good amount of enjoyment out of dlc then I dont care what the price is. I had no promblem shelling out 1200 MSP for each black ops map, only cause I knew I would get 30+ hours out of each zombie map. I dont own L4D2 currently so Im in no rush to buy cold steam, once it goes on sale then Ill buy it and I should own a copy at that time.

BTW, please no one support ninja gaiden 3 and buy the dlc. Team ninja needs to learn the hard way that this game is bullshit. I can't take another minute of my current playthrough, yet the show must go on.

I also enjoyed the Cold Stream DLC but I think Valve's F U was to 360 users. Not only did we have to pay for the DLC but we got no achievements and it came out a week after the PC version. I know that getting all the maps from the first game makes this a great deal if you don't own the first game but what about those of us that do? I actually prefer the cast of the first game so playing these maps with the L4D2 cast isn't as fulfilling to me. I don't regret my purchase at all but I definitely felt a burn from Valve on this release more than any other.
oh... well... i dont have a ps3 and i play games on the PC... hence why I asked in a XBL thread...:dunce:
Well then sorry for helping you out by telling you that they mainly go on sale somewhere else. I should have known you'd rather no one tell you anything. My bad.

Heh, Juice's response was indeed oddly self-centered and impolite. People on the internet...
does anyone think that we might get another price reduction or at least a sale of the Penny Arcade games with PAX coming up and the release of Rainslick 3?
So ... if you're a PC gamer, you haven't noticed the PA games going for sub-$3 apiece on Steam?

Can someone explain what this means, or its implications

The "Sales & Specials+" app currently has a bug that does not apply your purchase to your "home" region, but rather a unique region created for the PoS. You may notice that prior purchases aren't reflected in the "Scratch & Match" area, nor are your purchases reflected in the Games Marketplace. Microsoft is aware of the issue, but despite sending a 100MB patch, the problems are still not resolved. Be aware when you purchase content via the "Sales & Specials+" app, and check your Purchase History if, years from now, you can't recall how you bought that game.

Will games you buy using the app not show up in your purchase history? And if you do decide to buy something using the offers, can you share it like other downloadable content if someone buys it using your account?
They only seem to go on sale on PS3. They were $4 each on there at one point. And I think are still available in a bundle for $14 but I haven't checked lately
The bundle actually got down to $3 at one point, that's when I picked them up. I had a lot of fun with the first one, haven't gotten around to the 2nd yet.

Have you even played it? You still get the original cast when you play on the classic maps. Playing as the new survivors isn't even an option.

It also changes things up quite a bit having access to melee weapons, new infected, etc. on these maps. It's a worthwhile upgrade from the first game.

As for the price, it's always been said this is the minimum they can get away with charging for DLC on 360. Considering you're getting 4 campaigns (3 of which are extremely good) vs. 1 or 2 for all the previous DLCs for the same price, it's a solid deal.

PC users will always get better treatment from Valve. Steam is their platform and they can do whatever they want. Consider yourself lucky that we even got this DLC. If they ever make a L4D3 (unlikely), I doubt they would even bother to release it on xbox.
Huh Iron Brigade is 33% off Price reduction maybe?
It would make sense for it to be part of this month's price reduction. I think everyone that wanted the game already has it here. I bought here and I still haven't even touched the damn thing.

Wonder if any other arcade games will also get reduced?

It should have been I dont play PC games either...

Sheesh... why would I ask a question regarding PS3 or PC titles in an Xbox 360 thread? I might be a douche, but not without reason. Sorry for offending anyone, never the intention.

Sometimes words befall intentions... this is probably one of those times...

never touched steam in my life and i am farting on a netbook currently... Acer Aspire, ya know... the real cheap ones Wally World pushed at every chance they had two years ago?

I game more on my phone than my netbook... Should have read NOT a PC gamer... sorry about that.
He's dead?!?! Microsoft told me he went to live on a farm in the country.
Yes, he bought that farm.
Does ms still do the one game on demand sale or is that no longer happening?
I'm betting that everything gets shut down for five weeks so Summer of Arcade can have all of the attention because nothing else is going on on Xbox Live.
Does ms still do the one game on demand sale or is that no longer happening?
Looks like one game a week for now.

Anyone interested in Hybrid? I've been avoiding shooters for about a year now, but I did enjoy the beta for this and liked the control scheme, hopefully the final version has more interesting maps because the potential is there.

It's definitely a game that would be more fun to play with others and remain in the same squad.

Remember that Counter-Strike: GO comes out in a few weeks, and that will most likely kill Hybrid's multiplayer community. But even if it doesn't, the community won't last long. They never do for shooters on XBLA.
Is bad company 2 worth 12.99 for games on demand?
It's my favorite BF game and probably one of my favorite shooters ever. The thing is,it's a lot cheaper on disc and has been getting $5 sales from BB quite often. I guess it really depends if having it on your hard drive is worth the extra money.

Two things:

Hybrid is priced into oblivion at 1200 Points. For an online-centric game, that guarantees a small userbase and thus poor sales over time.

Also, Microsoft isn't sending out review codes until Tuesday, the day before the game launches. This is in stark contrast to every other SoA title this year, which we got a week or more in advance. That could very well be a vote of low confidence in the game. Or they just don't want people on the servers yet for some reason, hard to say.

I'd like Hybrid to be good, but those two bits have me wary about it.

Unless it's called Battlefield 1943. Next game with similar stable community will be Counter-Strike: GO.

Yeah, Hybrid probably is going to be ghost town one month after release.
i would love for the KOA DLC to go on sale, or Dragon age 2........or New Vegas so i can grab the last one cheap.
Good call you evil clown. All though I hate clowns I'm glad your wish has come true. Looks like Kingdoms of Amalur DLC is up on the dotw page. Def getting both DLCs. Not sure about the weapons pack, although probably will since nothing good has been up for so long. Anybody ever buy a weapons pack? Are the weapons better than anything you will find in the game? :applause:

Now all I need is some Gears stuff and I will be a happy soldier of the Cog.

Never thought it would happen. Going to end up spending just as much on dlc as I did for the game. Good recovery MS.

Nice. I was hoping we would see a sale sometime for Amalur dlc. I haven't even put more than a couple hours into the game but at the right price I will bite.
I'm just glad it didn't get pulled.

I could see them being like 560 each but 400 would be really cool.
Guess with Minecraft selling so well we won't see a sale any time soon, huh?
Possibly not until something like Twelve Days of Christmas sale.
Haven't even started KoA yet, but the completionist in me is telling me to pick up the DLC.
Same, but the backlog is telling me I can wait. I Can wait for a looooong while and just forget.

We'll see what next week brings as well for final deciding factor.

Awesome, i love being right!!! Seriously loving this game and this gives me more reason to play!

They said on twitter that they aren't giving early review codes because it's an evolving online world and they want it to be fair for everyone on day 1.

After playing the beta I would have never guessed this as an SoA title. It's that bad. Definitely not worth 1200 MSP especially for a game which was originally going to be FREE with microtransactions...
Haven't even started KoA yet, but the completionist in me is telling me to pick up the DLC.
Just a heads up. The second DLC(not the pirate island one) I encountered a bug that wouldn't allow me to load any of my saved games. And with what happened with the company obviously I never heard back.

Not sure how widespread it was or if it was literally just me. But it was definitely while playing the second DLC so I never got to finish it.

I love KoA though and the first DLC was very much worth it.
