I forgot Crysis is a Games on Demand exclusive so who knows if/when it'll drop again. It includes 40 achievements for 1000 GS. I'm picking it up right now.
Me too. Not going to wait another 6 months or more just to save $5, even though this is CAG. It's worth the $15, so get it while it's on sale and I don't wanna see anyone complaining about it later on that "no one told me" or "they never put Crysis on sale and i've been waiting so long"
EA has some pretty good sales on XBLA for DLC that I can remember, at least for the games that I've wanted stuff for. As far as Games on Demand, they're one of the better publishers in my opinion. They drop their games far more often, and much faster, to $20 than anyone else, including Microsoft. There are a ton of well received EA games for $20 (and now $15) on the service that are newer than a lot of $30 and $40 POS from other companies.
the only things that EA puts on great sales is things that get gimped when they remove the online servers. family game night for cheap? yay! except I can't play it with anyone anymore. Burnout Revenge? yay! oh wait...

Saints row 3 dlc worth picking up? Havent bought the game yet. Have 1 and 2 but yet to play them. Debating since its on sale to grab it now.

Trouble With Clones was the only one that had anything memorable or truly worth noting. Just note that they're all about an hour in length, but Genkibowl was just more Genki stuff and Gangstas in Space was really run of the mill shooting.

Volition DLC is terrible in a general case so I would say no. You're at best getting an hour of boring missions that bring nothing really cool to the table.

My vote is Genki Bowl for first because I thought the skydiving minigame and normal Genki shooter levels were fun but it literally is just six or seven more minigames for the main game, including Genki escort which somehow manages to be more retarded than NORMAL escort.

Trouble With Clones seems to be the game attempting to launch an all-out assault on the player, hoping to annoy him to death every which way it can and damn it comes close. The only remotely memorable moment there is a slight gameplay twist where
you gain super powers BRIEFLY, and even then it somehow makes running super fast and throwing fireballs boring
but even then you can't keep that beyond the scope of that one segment in that one mission.

Gangstas in Space is some standard shooting missions and a standard VTOL mission drawn out just a bit too long with nothing really memorable.

Haven't played genki yet, but everything else said is right on the money. After finishing all I could think was "that's it?"

Crysis is usually 960 MSP on the Hungarian marketplace and they accept MSP codes from Bing so 1200 MSP on the US marketplace is not a deal compared to that. Can anyone check if the price went lower on the Hungarian marketplace? Still haven't made a Hungarian account but I'd probably get it if it was 800 or less.

its funny for crysis 1200 msp at $14.95 when it was 1600 msp before
but in australia it is $19.95 (same price it was in the us before) and it is 1280 msp.

so if i make a hungary account to download crysis for 960 msp, can i play it using my regular USA account? and then delete the hungary account?

crap, just realized i have to activate a points card on the hungary account and would leave a lot of points to waste
I think most of us are Hungary for a good deal on Crysis.
I see what you did there

Now that it's finally on sale, the average CAG's crysis has been averted. We can finally save money

The general assumption is that codes for the Summer of Arcade games (i.e. codes won or purchased on the CAG marketplace) will count towards the buy 3, get 400 back right?

Well, you can't buy just 960 international marketplace Points that I'm aware of. You'd have to get at least 1200, and pay a small markup at that, thus you'd end up spending more than $15. And since many of us buy US MS points at a small discount from our fellow CAGs, etc., I think the current US price is the best deal for Americans.

That's why I said Bing points, which are free and work internationally.
But if you want to pay for points you can get them in the trading thread for a decent price too.

Or buy this + 200 more Bing points.

I hope since I got all of mine through codes. I believe last year people who got the SoA games through codes also received their Crimson Alliance bonus.

Cool. I got Deadlight through trade, and can't seem to score a Dust code. Thinking about just picking up Dust and Tony Hawk, then get the 400 back plus another 240 for the sports related content Rewards promo (which Tony Hawk qualifies for)

I never got a code for last year's promotion. I had to leave a PM to a Xbox rep and got my code eventually. Just like all my other games Crimson alliance is in my back log lol.

I was hoping that Microsoft had a promo this year that purchasing five games would net 800 points back. Think that was 2 or 3 years ago that happened.

Sales and Promotions on the XBox digital platform feels "GameStop" like. At least MSPs do go on sale from time to time. (and bing)

i'd say no since you probably won't ever play it

That would be awesome if it were the case. I bought Tony Hawk HD, but won codes for Deadlight and Dust through PlayXBLA. Wouldn't mind getting 400 points back.

Woah, didn't think that I might get 400 points after buying codes for the games through here at much cheaper prices. That would be nice, but not holding my breath.

Purchased points are NOT international ... if you're so hell-bent on playing Crysis, why not just go out & get a paper-route or something. It's not moving from this price ... so take your time. It'll wait. :)

Speak for yourself ... what if you have a "thing" for tight-fitting outfits on alien chicks with big helmet-heads? :D

Depends how they scrape the database for qualifying winners ... do they search the "purchase" database for 3 purchases, 3 redemptions, or do they search for owners of at lease 3 games?

I hope it's owners, because I got codes for each game but would love some free Points anyway. :)

I'd be shocked if you didn't get the 400MSP simply by redeeming 3 or more SoA 2012 codes. This is how it has worked for every previous SoA/HP/similar 'buy X games, get X MSP back' promotion I've taken part in. I've always received the promotional bonus and I've never purchased any of the required games. Every single one was a code redemption.

@XboxSupport will tell you differently, but they've been wrong every time thus far.
Also got Crysis 2 at BB, do I need to play 1 to understand what's going down in 2?

I still think $15 is kinda crazy for a XBLA downloadable game, I want it for $10 or less!!
Don't worry if you play through Crysis 2 without playing the first. I was in the same boat a few months ago when I scored a PS3 copy of Crysis 2 for cheap and the original's cost turned me off from buying it. Despite the fact that I usually don't play games out of order I gave it a go. I was fine storywise having not played the first. In fact, there's a kind of "previously on Crysis" flashback type thing that fills in most of what happened in the first game. I don't want to give you any more info and ruin your enjoyment of the story but suffice to say that you have little to worry about in my opinion. :)
Have games on demand always been charged in $ and not Microsoft Points? I tried buying Crysis yesterday and there was no option to pay in MS points
From the OP: *PURCHASING GAMES ON DEMAND USING MICROSOFT POINTS:

From your console, select the GoD title you wish to purchase and continue to the pop-up confirmation screen. As detailed at the bottom of the pop-up, press "X" to change the currency from Dollars to Microsoft Points.

Alternatively, you can follow identical steps on Xbox.com by searching for the Games On Demand title, clicking the link to download the game listed in dollars and then clicking "Change Payment Options" on the Xbox.com version of the confirmation pop-up.
Thanks for that, but I got no such option when I tried an alternate payment method. All I got was add card or PayPal
Just try it through your console and it should be fine.
I did
And your system doesn't let you press X to use Microsoft Points like everyone else's? Or you did and succeeded?
Thanks for that, but I got no such option when I tried an alternate payment method. All I got was add card or PayPal
It's there just press x like eastx says.
I only got Deadlight and Dust:An Elusyian Tale. I just can't pull the trigger on any of the other 3.
if you got 2 already, might aswell buy one more. Get the 800 MSP kinect one, or Tony Hawk so that way you get 640 MSP back.

If you get tony hawk you also have to spend 400 more msp on sports related products to get the 240 msp. If you didn't know

Yeah, I just can't do it. I don't like the Tony Hawk HD...felt they skimped out on it. I dont have a Kinect so Wreckateer is out, and Hybrid is a no go for me. I'd rather just play Halo Reach then it. If I had a kinect though, I'd probably buy Wreckateer.

Thanks Chuckie, appreciate your info here. I didn't think i needed to play the 1st one but I wanted to be sure.

That said, I would buy that 1st one if it would come down to say 800points, same goes for Res Evil 4 & Code V HD. Hint hint Microsoft!

Shoot, and I thought Crysis would never go on sale! Oh well.

I decided to purchase Full House Poker after striking out on the daily scratch n' win from the Sales & Specials app, but ran into trouble just like the blurb in the OP warned. I backed out of the app while it was still downloading. It never showed up in the "My Games" section and yet it was occupying space on my hard drive when I checked the System < Storage menu. I 'fixed' it by logging into my Gold account online and re-adding the game to my download queue from my purchase history.

I hope that helps anyone else if they run into the same thing.

yeah i missed up my math there. I thought the reward was for spending 1200 MSP.

Is there a complete list of available content?
I was wondering if the SSX Mt. Eddie pack would count.

Wait. Is Cysis on sale or is it a permanently reduced price? Because the OP makes it look like the price is now going to be $15 permanently.

Points wise, I'd bite at 1000 or less...definitely 800...but 1200...MEH.
Wait. Is Cysis on sale or is it a permanently reduced price? Because the OP makes it look like the price is now going to be $15 permanently.
It's a permanent markdown ... after this wave of GoD DOTD's, we now know that "sale GoD titles" don't end in 99 cents ... and since "Brave - A Warrior's Tale" has dropped to $14.99 for 2+ weeks, we can see that "extreme" price drops like "Fitty Cent" are feasible, even though it doesn't follow the typical $59.99 -> $29.99 -> $19.99 -> $14.99 pattern.

Also, if you head to the "Recently Reduced" page at Xbox.com, you'll see some of the plethora of EA titles that just got reduced. They're not listing them all, only because the website folks want to give a smattering of markdowns, and not fill up the page with just 1 publisher or GoD's.

Therefore, Crysis is a permanent markdown, just like the rest of EA's $14.99 titles. :D

There is no such list, you would have to go to the rewards xbox support forum and ask per item but those were all confirmed in a thread.

OK, thanks I posted in the forum. The question is not answered yet. Ill post back when I get an answer.
