I bought Portal 2 with microsoft points few days ago. ;)

Press "Y" on the menu to purchase it to switch it to Microsoft Points.

I picked up Dungeon Fighter last night and I'll be giving it some more time tonight. I can see how it could get grindy after a while but I'm a sucker for anything resembling an RPG.

Here's a tip to save anyone else from the same frustration: don't keep playing immediately after purchasing it from a trial version. It will not save your progress! Exit the game and relaunch it to start your character. :(

I see a lot of you talking about the playXBLA site again. Are they running an achievement thing for DF?

Funny stuff.
I'm at 15, pretty close to 16. I got a bitchin Katana which has made things a little bit more fun. But yes, it's repetitive. I wonder how close I am to the end.
You still have a long way to go to finish the game. Getting to level 20 and finishing the regular dungeons is pretty easy if a bit time consuming. After you're done though and you unlock the King's road stages things get much harder. I'd stock up on resurrection stones if you want to finish the whole thing. I picked up 75 stones yesterday. From what I hear about the last dungeon I'll be using a lot of them.

I'm to the 2nd to last level I believe, just hit 20. I don't anticipate spending much time with the King's Road stages.

And for those still considering buying it, I'd say wait for a sale. It's a decent game, but it gets super repetitive.

Not a good start to your CAG membership. One of your first posts is outright wrong information.

You people...

An optimist would say, "Hey, someone read info in the OP and didn't just stumble in here and ask a question that's already been answered a million times." Sure, he was wrong, but that's just a detail.

What puzzles me about this comment is that he's responding to the original opening post...163 pages later. I know he didn't read those 163 pages to determine if that had already been discussed (it has) so it just looks like a random out of the blue remark. Odd choice. Did he sign up just to say that?

Probably. and to give misinformation as well.

Hey! Some of us rock 100 posts per page. We're only on page 33. Making that mistake only 1/5th as bad. So back off! :speaktothehand:

"I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking to say things that everyone already knows, I can tell you I don't have time. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let this topic go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you."

Sorry, I don't mean to be grumpy as this is a newbie mistake that could have happened to everyone, but the circumstances were just perfect for this quote! :D

I included (under a spoiler tag) very simple, straight-forward instructions about using MSP for Games on Demand in the OP.

Wasn't sure about the coloring--didn't want to be too clashy, but at the same time was trying to slightly set it apart from the rest of the topic in order to grab the attention of thread-n00bs. Feel free to change it if anyone wishes... not like I could stop you anyway.... >,>

I don't know if it has been posted yet or not, but I read on the OP that you can pay for Games on Demand with Microsoft Points! =P [thanks Sanges99]

It's Monday, and with the benefit of knowing some of the sale items, no need to have our betting pools on the next offers. I am really looking forward to getting the Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes DLC at 120MSP. Which at least gives me some hope for DotW during Summer of Arcade. I can only hope for more XBLA title DLC on sale as well in the coming weeks.

While playing Iron Brigade for the playxbla challenge (and backlog play), I noticed that I had the DLC, and I don't recall purchasing it. Upon research, it does appear that the DLC was on sale before, so I am guessing that's when I got it. I'd like to thank those who helped me out with the game.

Civilization Revoltion GOD just got pulled. Back up to 30. Oh well. Sat on that one for a week. Was hoping it would go till tomorrow but no biggie. Got plenty of points racked up now.

Hi, not sure if this has been posted yet. Might be another shite kinect labs game but at least it has some free cheevos.

http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Mars-Rover-Landing/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258480836?cid=SLink

here's the youtube video that shows gameplay (it's a 500MB download so you might want to check out what it's like before you add it to your download queue)

Question: Do you think this girl is happy cause she successfully landed the rover or because a tech demo for a Kinect game actually went off without a hitch???

Yeah it also seems to be made by NASA so here's hoping that the people who can figure out how to get people on the moon can sort out getting Kinect sensors to actually do the job of properly sensing stuff, if not I think the space program might be in the poo.

Tower defense games aren't really my thing, but I'm enjoying the demo for Toy Soldiers: Cold War. I'm tempted to pick it up, but I already have Iron Brigade (Trenched) and the Martian Bear expansion in my backlog. Considering I'd need to add MS points to my account too, I think I'll hold out for a future sale and/or price drop....
I think Toy Soldiers is WAY better than Iron Brigade, for what it's worth...
I'd rank them kind of evenly... Toy Soldiers is extremely special and really captures the nostalgic vibe it's going for. Iron Brigade has much better multiplayer and thus can provide more longevity, but not everyone will get into that aspect.

Speaking of which Tyler, I get to tour the Toy Soldiers developer's studio next week! :D

You're right, speaking from a single player standpoint (which is all I ever play) I'd say Toy Soldiers is WAY better. However the MP is significantly meatier in Iron Brigade.

And nice Paul, they seem like a really good dev (except for that iffy WP7 game). That reminds me, I need to stop being cheap ass and just pay full price for the Invasion DLC, it's the only one I don't have.

Or to put it another way ...

And in its place is "Gears of War 3" down to $30, aka 2400pts!

BTW, I'm not sure tracking which games drop from $20 to $15 in the OP is that valuable, but we'll see how it goes. In any case, OP has been refreshed.

Actually gears has been down to 30 all week.

Picked up the Knives Chau DLC. Tempted by the Sacrifice for L4D, but I have it for 2 and the discount just isn't enough for me to bite. Maybe if it hits $3.50-$4 someday.

If you lose the scratch game on the sales app you can get left 4 dead 1 the sacrifice for 400 MSP, zombie apocalypse for 560 MSP, or all zombies must die for 560 MSP

The two 560 MSP games have been on sale for 400 MSP before so it's definitely not worth it. Have they even fixed the download history glitch yet? I'm weary of even buying anything from this app...

I did not hear anything about it being fixed, but I am not sure since I never purchased anything from this app.
OK, I must be late to the party here, what's the download history glitch?!?
Your purchases through the app do appear in your history, but regular Marketplace doesn't recognize them and proposes you to buy them again instead of showing the usual "already purchased" line along with the option to re-download from scratch.

Vice versa, items already bought in the Marketplace aren't recognized within the Sales & Specials+ app, which lets you buy them again, so you have to be wary of your purchases before attempting to take advantage of the app's discounts.

My Ms. Splosion Man, bought as a discount with the S&S+ app, still shows up as a regular 800 MSP purchase in the Marketplace, so I'm scared too to delete and then try to re-download it again through "normal" means...

All Zombies Must Die has NEVER been on sale yet, at least not on the US Marketplace.

I've been waiting for the sacrifice to go on sale for l4d1 since it came out. Hoping it won't go on a better sale when Cold Stream releases next week, when does the app change over in relation to when the new deal of the week becomes available?

As for the download glitch, you can re download without repurchasing from your download history, but not from marketplace look up, I've already done it because I didn't feel like sitting in the app to let the download finish.

Ah, thanks Junpei...that makes sense. I vaguely remember something of the sort when this app first game out. Thank you for clarifying that for me. I hope thats something Microsoft is aware of because that would suck if you cannot re-download it or if you recover your stuff on a new system. I sure hope Microsoft knows about it.....

Maybe he was thinking of Zombie Apocalypse's awful sequel (Never Die Alone), which went indeed down to 400 MSP last March...

So I grabbed Raskulls from the Sales App last night, despite my propensity against purchasing games via that means due to the aforementioned lack of parity with the regular marketplace. But my 5-year-old really enjoyed the demo, and he used his own money to buy it. :)

You guys also convinced me to buy Toy Soldiers: Cold War at the last minute. I mostly play single player, so thanks for the recommendation. This also gives me a couple options in the backlog when I feel like defending some towers.

All Zombies Must Die is on my want list, but I'd rather avoid that Sales App if possible, and I imagine that game will hit 400msp at some point. Would you guys/gals agree? I guess either way I have about a week to decide....
