Those seem like the best losing deals yet.

Chain Reaction is Bioshock Themed:

1. 200 points off Protector Trials
2. 200 points off Sinclair Pack
3. 400 Points off Rapture Metro
4. 600 points off Minerva's Den

Sooo this is why Bioshock DLC wasn't DotW

All of these games are steal at asking prices! With some luck you can still find Sine Mora and Radiant code a bit cheaper in trading board here tho.

From the image, I would guess that the winning Scratch & Match prize is the Wall-running backflip Avatar animation, or something as equally pointless.

Damn, Sine Mora is finally on sale?! I'm very tempted to get that, though from what I heard, the PSN version was gonna get some exclusive content, like an additional character.
Does it really count as a deal if you have to buy Xbox Live gold for it?
I dunno ... is it really Costco if you have to buy a membership card to get in? Oh wait ...

When you click on "Facebook", it will include what you tried to win ... and I know you're all heartbroken about not getting the Fierce Move: Kung Fu Kick avatar item, normally worth 240pts.

And I have a fierce hot mess for them in return. :D

Was curious to see what a completed chain looked like, since I already have everything, but looks like they haven't tied the chain to the marketplace yet.

Doh! I just traded in :360: Saint's Row: The Third for $30 since The Digital Foundry said it was the weakest of the platforms. I purchased the complete package for $13.xx during the Steam Summer Sale but my computer only meets the required specs, not the recommended ones. I'd rather not play it on PC till I upgrade my comptuer.

What's the likelihood of THQ releasing an Ultimate Edition with all the DLC on disc?
Was curious to see what a completed chain looked like, since I already have everything, but looks like they haven't tied the chain to the marketplace yet.
No, worse ... the offers are tied to DLC that exists in a non-existent country. Thus, you may own it within the USA/Canada region, but this app references some geo that will never show up correctly in either the "Scratch & Match" or the "Chain Reaction" areas. That's why the app is STILL a POS.
What's the likelihood of THQ releasing an Ultimate Edition with all the DLC on disc?
Not bad, but they're still doing individual DLC items at $3 apiece (and $0.75 during Steam's massive sales), so there's a little life left in it. However, with "Enter the Dominatrix" now becoming the basis for the next game, that means a next game is confirmed to come out "soon". I'd say THQ would be crazy to put out an "ultimate edition" to either leech away people from the new title, or have buyers give them less money.

You may see it on PS3, because bundles are a weird hack in that storefront, but at least they work. And Steam is certainly capable as well, but you probably won't see it on 360 during this current Xbox Live Marketplace code-base.

Sorry, what's this chain exactly? I'm interested in getting Minerva's den

It's within the Sales & Specials+ App on the US marketplace, but to get the last one you have to buy the other 3 first

Major Nelson's site lists online multi-player + new character DLC coming to Scott Pilgrim this month. NOICE.

EDIT: This was already noted in a previous post, but still... wow.

And even though you've previously bought them, it will STILL not show them previously bought. Leave the "Chain Reaction" behind ... it hasn't worked right for 4 sets of offers now. :(

Well it has worked for the gears chain though....
Two things:

Hybrid is priced into oblivion at 1200 Points. For an online-centric game, that guarantees a small userbase and thus poor sales over time.

Also, Microsoft isn't sending out review codes until Tuesday, the day before the game launches. This is in stark contrast to every other SoA title this year, which we got a week or more in advance. That could very well be a vote of low confidence in the game. Or they just don't want people on the servers yet for some reason, hard to say.

I'd like Hybrid to be good, but those two bits have me wary about it.

They said on twitter that they aren't giving early review codes because it's an evolving online world and they want it to be fair for everyone on day 1.
Yeah, what Yama said. There is a persistent world war going on in the game, when you start up you choose a faction and then fight for that faction. They seem to think this is going to be a really interesting aspect of the game, but I don't see it being anything more than which color is cooler, red or blue?

Also, I'm just beyond disappointed that 5th Cell wasted so much time on this game. I loved Scribblenauts and have no idea why the team behind a game so original decided to make a 3rd person online shooter for their first XBLA game.
i would love for the KOA DLC to go on sale, or Dragon age 2........or New Vegas so i can grab the last one cheap.
Haha nailed it, that was cool!

Ikaruga is a Treasure game, right? Is it as hard as Radiant Silvergun, and does it have the same features where you can upgrade your ship over time?

Sine Mora's achievements are really awful too, for what that's worth.
Coming soon to XBLA by Major Nelson

Wow, they're FINALLY adding online for Scott Pilgrim? Though kind of sucks that I have to BUY it.
Ya, kind of sucks that they couldn't have just patched it in. I wonder if the new DLC will have achievements.

Bummer that I never got to bite on the last chain reaction thanks to it not working, but Sine Mora...my internet connection needs to be working by the end of this week as I would LOVE to pick that up.

Also nice to see Scott Pilgrim finally getting online, although after all this time, I'd be curious how active it'll actually be.

600 points for the Deus Ex DLC next week makes me happy. I'm definitely getting it (whatever it is called, Missing Link or something or other).
Ikaruga is a Treasure game, right? I would have to say Ikaruga is the tougher game, though that might differ for fans.
Hmmm, no mention of Jet Set Radio, NiGHTS, or Sonic Adventure 2...
Yeah, I'm hoping JSR will be out this month or the next (they said summer & it's just about over), though SA2 & NiGHTS are suppose to be coming this Fall, so probably Oct. or Nov.

Seeing as Sega has been adding avatar awards to their previous re-released games (not to mention JSR has some as well), really hoping to see SA2 & NiGHTS get some as well.
Hmmm, no mention of Jet Set Radio, NiGHTS, or Sonic Adventure 2...
They also have no mention of The Walking Dead: Episode 3, but I assume that will just come out whenever because they don't have a release date.

7 Year old console in Nov.
Still has a new flagship title coming out.

The KOA DLC will go great with my $10 copy from BB. Glad I held off on Saints.
Bout time MS had some worthwhile DLC on sale.

Not really since the two shooters have both been half off before. When these loser deals first came out they matched previous deals of the week. Hard for me to justify buying a game knowing it has been on a much better discount before.

Wow @ Scott Pilgrim online costing 400 points. Better than nothing I suppose, but this should have been included day 1.

Maybe I'll finally go back and replay the game now.

Well we still have 2 weeks of SoA, so there won't be any other games released anyway.

Thanks. I really suck at shoot-em-ups, but I have a lot of fun with them so I'll be getting it.

I agree and disagree. I agree in that when they started doing the Loser sales, things were 50% off and it was really nice. Then they dropped a lot of the sales to around 33% off, which just isn't as nice. I even passed on All Zombies Must Die for 560msp, because I'll wait for it to be 400msp or lower.

I disagree in that knowing a game has had a bigger discount previously doesn't really turn me off of a current sale. I mean, I don't have a time machine so it's not like I have access to that past deal. Plus, Ikagura hasn't been on sale in over 4 years! This $2.50 discount will be more than enough to get me to bite!
What's the likelihood of THQ releasing an Ultimate Edition with all the DLC on disc?
I think it will happen -- Saints Row 3 was a top selling game for THQ and I think the desire to milk it for a 'complete' edition will prove to be too strong for the marketing and sales people to resist, given the good sales numbers. This is typically why you don't see a complete edition for games with really crappy sales, even if the game itself had actual DLC (Dragon's Age 2, Monopoly Streets, etc)

But I doubt it will come out in 2012. I think you'll probably see it right before Saints Row 4 hits stores in 2013, but who knows when that is going to be.

EDIT: Of course, none of my reasoning explains why we never got a complete edition for Mass Effect 2, or Fable 3. Both games sold well enough.

Buy or not buy DLC that's the question lol
Buy or not buy DLC that's the question lol
Well of course there is a chance. I believe it to be a very slim chance. But it's there.

I don't see it happening though. I would be pleased if it did though, because I would buy it to have DLC on disc.

It's a pretty unique situation here with Amalur thanks to the bankruptcy and the legal wranglings. I certainly wouldn't bet on a GOTY version coming out, but yes, it's possible.

I'd encourage anyone who's interested in it to buy the DLC this week. Perhaps showing that the game has a strong following might be enticing to whoever might consider buying the franchise rights for a potential sequel. (crosses fingers)

Just queued up both Kingdoms of Amalur DLC packs.

Was going to get Sine Mora too with the Scratch and Win but then I realized that it was coming out for the VITA and I rather get it for that. So I hold off on it for now.

While Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga have had better discounts, being a niche genre, some may not feel inclined to wait in the chance it is hopeless. Sine Mora though is the real draw (imo) having not been on sale at all.
Remember that Counter-Strike: GO comes out in a few weeks, and that will most likely kill Hybrid's multiplayer community. But even if it doesn't, the community won't last long. They never do for shooters on XBLA.
You're right I forgot about Counter Strike, been out of the loop for a while here. Hybrid doesn't seem to have much hype either, I may have to take a wait and see.

Thanks for the heads up

More good points, and thank you. Looks like a wait and see. Even if the game is good, and I think it could be going by the beta, if the community is non-existent then it would be a waste.

38 Studios has closed and is not even patching the game anymore, what are the odds EA will look to produce a GOTY edition for a game that has not sold to their expectations, when they haven't put out GOTY for Mass Effect or Dead Space games?

While there were a number of posts talking about Kingdoms of Amalur, the post you're quoting is referring to Saints Row : The Third.

Ah lol, yeah, THQ... duh me.

To anyone on the fence about picking up the two KoA DLC's. Get them. I paid 800 msp each for them and would do it again. I preferred The Legend of Dead Kel but both were very good. This game is great and hopefully someone will pick it up to make a sequel.

So tempted to pick up the KoA DLC, but I don't know when I'll get around to even opening the game. I'm sure I'll like it, but I don't know.

Ditto.

Looks like I will be spending points the next 2 weeks. While SR3 may get a GOTY eventually but I am willing to cough up $10.50 for the main DLC now in case it does not. Sometimes you just have to go with the sale you have not the sale you want.
