XBLA - Bomberman LIVE - 800pts - Bomb Up Pack 3 Now Up

Quick question, can you keep your HD when sending in your XBOX to make sure the content you've downloaded stays on it?
 
You're supposed to only send the console (no cords, controllers, or HDD) unless MS asks you to send along the HDD during the tech support call (when they make you do all that diagnostic crap). I suppose it's based on whether or not they think your HDD is part of the problem.

Also, according to QJ.net, Yie Ar Kung Fu will be on XBLA on 7/18 in addition to Bomberman, and will be 400 points.

Answer:Yes, but to use the downloaded content you will need to be connected to Xbox Live. Content is bound by console Serial Number, if it doesn't match, it will need to connect to XBL to verify that you can own it. Otherwise, items like XBLA games will revert to trial games since it can't confirm that you own it. Strange copy protection, but it's there.
 
I ask because my friend and I are doing the download trick and I've got everything linked to my account and he has it on his HD, so I would hate for him to lose that stuff if anything happened to his XBOX. But if he can just hold on to the HD he should be fine then.

Well, I'd never played Worms before either, but the constant bitching from everyone about how watered down the XBLA version was really dampened my enthusiasm towards it.

Kung Fu as in the original nintendo game where you keep moving up each floor?
 
Yie Ar Kung Fu by Konami is not the same game as Kung Fu by Irem. They're completely different.

Also, Worms may not have every feature of its console brethren, but it's still an absolutely fantastic XBLA game. The new BGs and sounds help, of course.

Bomberman Live looks to be the best Bomberman game since Saturn Bomberman, so don't worry about it lacking anything (besides a story mode).
 
That Kung Fu game doesn't look too bad. I wish it was the KUNG FU (i think this game had a label like super mario brothers) game though. I loved that one.

Didn't realize it was THAT Kung Fu... I burned so many quarters on that thing at the arcade during my youth. For 400 points I will definately be picking it up.
 
Oh man I can't wait for this. Things are really ramping up in terms of games I want to play over the summer. Bomberman this week, and next week Persona 3 comes out :). Outstanding.

Game works great online....I have two complaints only:

1) The single player is boring. It's just the online mode but with CPU players. You have to play it if you want to unlock costumes.

2) When hosting an online match, you can't change the options once the lobby is created. You have to create a whole new room and re-invite everyone. They gotta fix this.

Otherwise, a great XBLA game. It includes vision cam support so the winner can gloat over his victory.
 
We definitely had some fun 8-player action. I've never played online with Cheapy - it was hilarious. It's like the (apparently restrained, who knew?) CAGcast Cheapy in Xtreme mode! :rofl:

I played for a bit after we finished to snag some costumes and get an achievement or two. I got a couple of costumes and the Zombie mode achievement.

This is more minor than Cheapy's issues above (in particular being able to change options), but it would be nice for it to show which costume you snagged at least at the end of the game. You have to go to customization and scroll through them all to see which is new.

I unlocked an outfit called the "Robes of Evasion" (I believe). Needless to say I switched from my Roman Centurion Pirate to that.

Edit - Oh, and now I finally have a use for that third controller I picked up a few weeks ago. My boys and I will have a blast with this tomorrow evening. I can already see my 4 year-old jumping all over the living room playing this (see, it's not just the Wii that can get kids movin' around!).

This has been a problem in a lot of Bomberman games, they used to stick a crappy story mode in were you had to bomb monsters on a maze for single player.

TBH I think I'd rather have the multiplayer with bots as the single player game, thats really the only mode people like anyway.

Does this version have the little kangaroos from the genesis version ?

EDIT - I'll deffo be picking up this tonight, gotta love Bomberman (except Act Zero obviously).

Didn't it say in one of the how to play help screens that you could unlock content by playing games lasting 2+ minutes either locally or unranked online?
 
Didn't even try the demo, went straight for the purchase. This has to be one of the best XBLArcade games to date.

Had a blast with CheapyD, IO, and Zewone last night...I sucked though...I was dead tired...and after 4 hours of sleep...I still am. I'm on Zombie mode right now.
 
Just gave it a shot. I like it so far. It has the makings of a Live mainstay. Hope I figure out how to play it soon so I don't get my ass kicked too bad.
 
Hard to see what the fuck is going on, on my SDTV.

That should change soon, though. :]

Not sure if it helps, but clicking the right thumbstick changes the camera a little. It zooms in and it gives the option to do a full top/down view like the original, and you can zoom in from there as well. Just toggle the views by clicking the right thumbstick. CheapyD figured this out late...um early this morning when we had an 8 player crazy ass deathmatch. Good thing Cheapy didn't win while I played, supposedly his victory screenshot is a shot of his "niss-nacks" :lol:

In SP, once in a while a glowing crystal drops onto the field. Pick it up and you unlock an item. The rules say that you can unlock items in unranked Live matches, but I've yet to do so.
 
I'm going to check out Bomberman more before I purchase the complete game. It seems good, but...I'm just not into it yet (distracted by other things at the moment). When I do, I'll redeem my only 48-hour gold trial to play some Bomberman.

Also, how do you guys make those gamertag cards for your sigs?
