XBLA - Kingdom For Keflings - 800pts

Just read about it...definitely looks interesting. Keeping my eye on this one.

Orem, Utah - August 4, 2008 - NinjaBee, a division of Wahoo Studios and a leading independent developer of Xbox LIVE® Arcade titles, has announced details about its newest title, A Kingdom for Keflings. This innovative city-building title comes from the studio that developed and published the popular games Band of Bugs, Outpost Kaloki X and Cloning Clyde.

A Kingdom for Keflings puts players in the shoes of a giant who has the ability to design and construct an intricate city for the local Keflings. Each giant starts out with a small handful (literally!) of helpful Keflings who follow the giant's every command. These Keflings can be trained to become lumberjacks, miners, transporters, sheep shearers, scholars, and various other professions as they help build the kingdom from the ground up.

"We wanted to make a city building game where the player is more personally involved instead of controlling an abstract floating hand," said Steve Taylor, President of NinjaBee. "A Kingdom for Keflings transports the player to a world they create and allows them to relax, enjoy the world and create a strategy that works for them."

A Kingdom for Keflings will feature fun and light-hearted gameplay with stunning visuals and original music to match. Players will build through all four seasons, with a dynamic musical score that changes depending on the progress of the city. Players of all ages can customize their kingdom by painting buildings and walls, planting trees and topiaries and constructing statues and other works of art. The online multiplayer option allows up to four giants to build a kingdom cooperatively over Xbox LIVE. A Kingdom for Keflings will be released later this fall on Xbox LIVE Arcade

Lol I got my email notification and I was like what game is this now. It's cool that you can play as your avatar, ironic oh haha, but I'm waiting for the "Godzilla" outfit lol.

I was looking forward to it before they announced the Avatar support so I'm still looking forward to it. NinjaBee's games are great.

I just played the trial version of the game and it is pretty fun. I would have bought it if it was 400pts though. I don't think its worth 800pts.

Darn it! Why did I even look at this!! :( I already have enough games on my plate, but saw this when I downloaded the NXE and wondered about it ... now I will try the demo and probably end up getting the game ... which I won't play since I have so many others I still need to play!

Might have to pick it up to play with my daughter -- she's so excited to have an avatar that looks like her (well, a sexy, grown up version of her anyway). I tried to download it this morning, but it was showing as not available yet. Glad to hear it's a pretty fun game.

 Well this is awkward...

I was thinking of getting it but from playing the trial it seems too repetitive. I'd buy it at 400 pts.

I just played the demo.

Wow, I'm not really picky when it comes to games. But this game is god awful, the demo was putting me to sleep!

Guess it's not for everyone.

This game isn't really a game so much as it is a toy. It's like a box of legos, only more interactive. There is no antagonistic aspect to the game, which will polarize people right there.

Yes but did your avatar find it interesting.

I guess thrustbucket is on the money here. I completely differ from yukine. I was hooked on the demo and was pissed that it ends so soon. I want moar Keflings!

Yeah, I was pretty hooked on the demo and went ahead and bought it. Sure, it's not complicated at all and I'm not even sure it's really a game, but it's very cute and fun to mess around with. Besides, my stash of points was pretty huge so maybe my selectiveness is not what it would be if I had to buy it with my credit card. Anyway, I'm sure I'll at least have fun playing this with my daughter.

Seems like an ok game. I'd definitely get it if it were 400 points, but at the price tag of 800 I'm not so sure if I'll be buying it or not.

This game is hard to put down. Played it for about five hours straight when I first got it and am about to do the same for a second sitting.

anyone having a hard time completing a quest? No matter how many logs or rocks I put into the building or how I try to do it (doing it myself or letting the lemmings do it), it never completes the quest

Just keep letting the Keflings take them to the building and it'll complete it. Some of mine seemed to take a bit longer, but they all were completed.

Make sure you keep track of what building the resources have to go into, maybe that's it. Yea this game made me add more points to my account. >< I don't like the music so part of the gaming for long hours has to do with my awesome music in the background lol. If only they came out with a war exp dlc for this game that allowed your Keflings and maybe you to fight 3 others on the map! Oh I can dream...

Just grabbed this game and it's pretty addicting. Made it to the point where you unlock three blueprints, made a schoolhouse, then stopped since I began to feel overwhelmed. I'll pick it up again in a bit.

So I've been playing this for a couple days and suddenly today my game has terrible slow down. I can start a new one and it will work fine but my current save is slow as shit and its really frustrating. I hate for all the work to go to waste. Anyone else have this problem?

I can't stop playing this game. I can start playing and all of a sudden, I'll look at the clock and time has flown by. What an awesome game.

Doesn't seem like this game ever caught on with CAG, but I'll take my chances, anyway. I was hoping some people could help me with the achievement where you need banners built in your kingdom. I'm gonna let the game run for awhile, so if anyone could just drop in, I'd appreciate. it.

Just downloaded the demo, and I'm entirely sold on it, but not for an immediate purchase. I enjoyed it though. It was relaxing, which is a big plus for me. The music is already grating on me though. This game is definitely on the list to get at some point, but Splosion Man is going to be first.

It's awesome. When I got it and played it before Christmas the music made me feel all Christmasy or something. Very relaxing. I might play it again this year just for the hell of it.

I beat the game a while ago and would love to come back into this wonderful game. This game needs DLC and my personal opinion a crazy Black vs White like Village vs Village war scenario. You could build up a catapult from a siege works building and escort it with your big ass avatar! I brought this suggestion to the xbox forums and someone from NinjaBee said that the game was never meant to be hostile, more so relaxing. That's why its an add on dlc scenario mission!

I see Microsoft mention Kingdom For Keflings DLC coming soon for the 360, I seen it on the Future Arcade Arrivals on the dashboard. I don't know what it consists of yet but I figured I should put it up anyways.

Unless it's really stupid I will buy that shit. There's just something awesome about that game, just building and relaxing.

EDIT: Apparently there are 2 DLCs coming on the 9th, each with 2 new kingdoms. I think that's about it, I dunno if they're adding more.

I definitely had a lot of fun with this one, so I might be interested in picking up the DLC, if the price is right. If anybody wants to help out with the achievement where you have to collect banners from other players, let me know.
