Has anyone tried the Mafia II DLC and have thoughts on whether either one is worth picking up? I'm playing through that game now and enjoying it quite a bit, but I've heard the DLC is a lot different than the full game (more arcade/shootery?) and not as fun.
Anyone recommend the Protector Trials for 200 msp? I'm definitely getting Minerva's Den but I'm unsure about the Protector Trials.
Did you enjoy the protector portions of the game? If so, buy the Protector Trials. If not, then don't. It's more of the same.

Once you complete them, you get an add-on thingy you can use in the game that gets you more ADAM every time your little sister extracts it. I used this during Minerva's Den and I had shitloads of unused ADAM by the end of the game.
The best part: it forces you to use the tonics you probably never used in the game. Oh yeah, and easy achievements.

Well. Saved some points again this week. Picked up Borderlands GOTY from PS sale and MAFIA 2 PH through B2G1. Still haven't picked up Bioshock 2. Need to do that at some point.

Wow, I didn't even know about that. If I had, I might have started them BEFORE I finished the main game. I picked them up, along with Minerva's Den, last time they were on sale.

Haven't played through Minerva's Den yet, but Protector Trials are actually a lot more enjoyable than I thought they would be. People say they're just like the normal "protect the little sister while she gathers ADAM" parts of the game, and that's mostly true. But it does get you to play the game differently and try out new things when you're limited in what you have available to you, so it's interesting in that sense. Probably worth the 200 points if you like the game in general.

For 200 I guess I'll give it a try. Thanks!
I noticed that too, its the Lord of the Flies stage right? Weird that its not under the highlights.

Playing Castlevania: HoD with CAGs was a lot of fun. But man those DLC stages seem tough, gotta work on those ;)
Yup that was the stage. From now on I'll be double checking xbox.com as well as the dashboard so I don't miss anything I want.

Last night was indeed a barrel of fun. When I'm done playing Full House Poker tonight I'll be down for some more. Gotta play Texas Heat whenever I can. Provided I can stay connected. Still can't believe how shoddy their online play is. They owe it to anyone who paid full price to give some free content away soon I hope. Last week there were barely 1k people playing Texas Heat. In a few more weeks it'll just be me! lol.

Also is it me or is this week's DotW the exact same content they have put on sale before? Couldn't they at least mix it up with different avatar items? I realize all the available DLC is on sale but come on!

Bit the bullet on Castlevania even though I was told by many people not to get it. Add me if you want to play with someone. XBLA: ChicoChanqlueta

Also, any opinions on the Mafia 2 dlc? My girlfriend enjoyed watching me play the game's story. So which add on has the better story?

If you want CV to be easy, just buy and d/l Yoko. She's like a dollar or two or more but it's well worth it because you'll go through the game way faster. Her magic attacks are beast and the more you level it up, the better. Went through the game real easy with her plus 200/200 on the game by luck. I was unlocking achievements playing with strangers than I did with friends. Getting 10k kills was a borefest for me, I always hate those type of achievements. I remember doing that for DMC4 and that wasn't fun at all lol.

Minervas Den is probably the best (arguably) DLC on the 360 for all games period, outside of maybe Shivering Isles which was more a giant expansion then anything.

Not only am I saving money this week, looks like I be saving money for next week too. Just wondering what's coming out this week for XBLA besides Gatling Guns or whatever and for next week too. They started to release 2 or more XBLA games a week now which I like.
Looks like I won't be buying anything for the rest of the month. Might try out the Sega Rally Online Arcade trial, just so I can hear GAME OVER YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
LOL! I highly doubt they'll add any old school elements to the game but I do hope they do. I'll be also d/ling the trail because if it doesn't play nothing like the Saturn versions, I'm skipping even more if it's 1200 pts. Revo was okay but that shit was frustrating as balls for me.

I would also like to add that it looks like a poor man's Revo. Saw vids, it looks exactly like Revo.
I guess I might as well buy this just to show my support. I haven't played this game in over 15 years and already have the SE on my PC.
I think everyone should buy it. Hopefully we'll get Day of the Tentacle, Sam & Max Hit the Road, and some others with the special edition treatment.

I still have my original Secret of Monkey Island CD and I've probably played it 25 times start to finish. I've gone through once on XBLA and need to do a second run to get the achievements. I also have LeChuck's Revenge from when it was on sale but I haven't touched it yet.

Minervas Den was freaking awesome. It's been a while since I played Borderlands, so I'll be picking up Robot Revolution.

Looks like I'll be saving money this week ad next. Kinda kicking myself now: only picked up chapters 7 and 11 of the Castlevania DLC. Oh well, more points saved for
Mortal Kombat characters

Minerva's Den is well worth the 400 points. I found the story much more compelling than the core Bioshock 2 campaign. The twist at the end is almost on par with the original game's.

Looks like I won't be picking anything up via the sales this week or next. I may bite on the Crysis 2 map pack that's out next week if it's reasonably priced, but I'm guessing it won't be.

The DLC is still on sale so if you want any of it you can still buy it.

I still have my Amiga floppy discs. Man I feel old.... ;)

Pulled the trigger on Castlevaniaand and all the SALE dlc. since none the sale this week interests me. Goo diversion from Gears3 while taking a break.

I'd be down for some Multiplayer goodness, lets do this!:

XBL: Ang Colette
how do you get a specific games info?
ivegotalobon, sorry for the delay in response, works got me swamped.

Ideally you would be able to browse and search for them. Two features that I haven't had time to implemented yet. If there is interest I may add Browse by Title and just dump all games on a couple of pages.

I posted that link using the game guid from xbox.com, look in the URL and it's after the game name, then modify the URL for my site.

I would love a thread for my site, don't want to steal this one. In what forum should I post it?

Ok, OP should be good. I have to go run some more errands, let me know if there any errors and I will correct them tonight (along with the DLC post)

The Major also confirmed next week (18th) for SEGA Rally Online Arcade so you can update that when you get around to it. Currently it's just listed as May.

nothing for me over the next two weeks. Bioshock stuff is good, and I recommend it to everyone that has the game. Honestly was hoping to see Rapture Metro Pack (even though I have it) on sale again so more people might have it.
I had to boost to get the final two achievements for playing on all 6 new maps and winning on all 6 new maps. As after a year of having the maps they never popped up once. Ironically after I got the achievements, I can find the new maps in matchmaking. Maybe one day it will get a permanent price drop.

But yea, Minervas den is awesome. If you pick up the protector trials also and beat them, as stated you get an extra gene tonic for use in Minervas Den.

A pirates sale and Sid Meier' Pirates! isn't on sale? wtf. I was excited by the thread title, but I already own many, many versions of Secret of Monkey Island (perhaps my favorite game series ever. Definitely top adventure series).

PS Shout out to reddjoey! I'm that guy you ran into in the Target clearance awhile back. Yay North Fla CAGs. Also big thanks for running this thread. You rock.
how do you get a specific games info?
I have added browse to my database. You can find it here:
http://hdfanatic.com/xbldb/browse/

The pages list every game, subdivided by type, so they may be slow to load. Click on a game to reach it's offers page. Click on an offer and if it has any price history it will be displayed in the bottom table.

I missed all of the sales earlier this year because I was catching up on backlog/pile of shame games (if anyone cares: god of war 3, dead rising 2, the sly collection, halo reach multiplayer) so I'm glad they are bringing back some of those. I have a knack for finding out about deals too late anyway so putting things back on sale sooner rather than later is greatly appreciated. In case anyone with Xbox connections reads this, I wish the Splinter Cell Conviction: Insurgency pack, GTA4 dlc and Gears 2 all fronts pack (just missed this one a week or two ago!) would get new deals.

Anyway, I bought the Bioshock 2 Minerva's Den and Protector Trials and probably would have got the multiplayer maps if they would have been on sale.

I Saw the price drops are up today. In addition to what Spylon found:
Blade Kitten 800 MSP - 33%
The UnderGarden 400 MSP - 50%
Hanuted House - 400 - 50%
Jeez, how many times is Blade Kitten gonna go on sale
It's a price drop not on sale! :)

Yeah, I recall it was only on sale once a few months after release for 600 points.

In addition to those 3, some games on Demand also got some price drops (under Recently Reduced).

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs ($20, originally $50)
Assassin's Creed 2 ($20, originally $30)
HAWX 2 ($20, originally $30)
Midnight Club: Los Angeles ($20, originally $30)
SFIV ($20, originally $30)
