XBLA - Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix - 1200pts
Ha, I had the same problem as you, with my arcade stick, and was so pissed. The best way I found to make it easier would be to change the speed setting in Options to like 0 or 1.
I'll give that a try. I really want to like this game so I'm willing to give it a go.

I've been mainly using Ryu because I know he is an easy character to play with. Any tips on if this is a good start?

man fuck akuma on arcade mode. 2 hours trying to fucking beat him on EASY. fuck YOU AKUMA.

It's such BS> He knows every move i'm going to do and whenever he's about to be put down for the match he autoamattically gets super powerful moves down. Fierce Dragon punch knocks out half of my life! Bullshit. fuck you capcom.

Also one of his jabs takes away 1/4 of your life! Bullshit!

AHEHRHERH

He is easy to beat using Chun, jump in with MK then medium lightning kicks then jump in with MK again, keep doing that as he will fireball when you go to jump in.

:( I wish I knew that earlier, I was just using charge characters (E Hond and Blanka) using the strategy that every time he jumps i'd charge in. It worked most of the time, until the aforementioned "Look at me i'm Akuma and I get super powers when I'm losing" and he does that BS three air fireballs at once.

I don't think I'll ever get up to Akuma in Arcade mode. The AI is just too cheap in some cases. Honda against Dhalism just killed me because he just stood back there and kept spamming fireballs, which is ridiculous.

Thanks for the help, BCF. It was easier than I thought to get that Achievement. I also managed to get Super Finisher using the strategy we discussed with E.Honda, and while going for Training for Perfection with Akuma, I got Blinding Speed on the first round. Then I proceeded to face Ken about 50 more times before I got my 5th perfection >_

Wow, no offense to anyone but the AI really isn't hard in this game. You should try the AI in the actual arcade version or on Hyper Street Fighter II (The version that is on the Anniversary Collection.)

I don't even think I could beat that game the easiest level.

I've beaten the game on Normal, and Hyper Street Fighter 2 on Hard (360 version) also. It's just Akuma's bs that made me furious.

Also I got up to Akuma by spamming Psycho Crusher on Easy Arcade mode King.

Well, the only complaint I have is the constant spamming of attacks by the CPU. And I mean like...9 or 10 times in a row, constantly, without fail. That's the problem I'm having.

I agree with Jimbo. I play Chun Li and I beat Akuma on my second try.
For the spamming of attacks problem, you guys should either read up and figure out strategies for those attacks or learn to play a new character.

I've tried going through Arcade mode 4 different times with 3 different characters and I run into the same problem once per run, at either the 2nd, or 5th match. With Ryu I run into Blanka, he spams his ball dash attack, knocks me down, I get up, does it immediately again. Repeat until I lose. With Cammy, I run into T-Hawk and he does some crazy shit.

Also, I've read up on it that once you get to Akuma, you can face him as much as you want and still get the Achievement. This means you can switch characters, too.

Yes it is man. It's always been this way. Superhuman shit. The moment I press up, like the exact moment at the computer can pull off a fierce dragonpunch? That's not possible with a human player, as a human player doesn't know the other person jumped until they see a visual cue.

It's the BS capcom has pulled since the early days.

Play against better competitors. A lot of players are ready on the motion just waiting to hit the button when you make a move. It's possible.

Nah man I know that, but i'm talking about the impossible like the exact moment you hit that button, before any visual cues or anything.

And it's just because of what they had availble to program with back there. They couldn't really program for cues or anything, it was just all inputs.

Welcome to playing against an AI opponent in a fighting game. It's just how it is for the most part, UMK 3 was more annoying than this game in single player mode.

I got Blazing Speed by luck with Akuma in my first Perfection run round. I had 86 on the clock and it popped. Oh, and after many, many tries, I managed to get this little beauty:

Akuma wasn't even the most frustrating thing, though. It was T-Hawk and Ryu. I managed to beat Ryu with Bison using Fierce Psycho Crusher over and over again. T-Hawk was just a pain because he always kept hitting me at exactly the right moments (Why can't I counter their bloody attacks, huh?). I still need the 3 Ranked Achievements though, but I doubt I'm going to go for those since I suck ass at fighting games.

I made it quite easily to Akuma just using 1 round fights.

I'm sorry but you guys need to stop complaining about the AI. It's not nearly as bad as it was in the original Super Turbo. How come I beat Akuma on my second try with Blanka? You guys must be doing something wrong. Stop jumping and wait for him to make a mistake, then capitalize.

The AI in HDR seems to be much more "human", actually. They actually try to pull off things that Humans would do. I remember SF AI used to just be "HAHA I AM PSYCHIC AND SUPERIOR!" in the past, but it feels like the Remix Mode AI has actually been retooled to possibly show you stuff you CAN mimic in online/competitive play. Also, no Guile Shenanigans like "Walking towards -> Instant Flash Kick!"

My Fav SFII CPU has always been Ken. Traditional weak SRK, Medium SRK, Fierce SRK, ALL THE TIME, when he got low on health. I saw that SO much in the arcade back in the day, it's always been engraved in my memory.

I remember on SNES, spending 2 hours trying to beat M. Bison with Dhalsim. Nothing in HDR seemed anywhere NEAR that bad, but that might be because I'm worlds better NOW than I was then...

speaking of CvS2, I know how people want MvC2 (which is an unbalanced piece of shit), I'd perfer if they ported CvsS2.

I still remember the demo disc for Xbox where Capcom accidentally put the full game on it except for Xbox Live mode. I think I might even still have that.
being more of an alpha/cvs2 player i find the inability to jump safely really limiting to rushdown.
but as an alpha/cvs2 player shouldnt u be more used to footsies??
I made it quite easily to Akuma just using 1 round fights.
I think you can't quite grasp how bad at fighting games I am, except Smash Bros.

Just gotta learn to spam moves and abuse the AI KingBroly. With the older games there's certain things that bug out the AI, I.E. Guiles Flash Kick bugs out Akuma for a few frames.

I loved CvS2 even though I was pretty bad at it. Unless I take a lot of time to learn the ins and outs of a game, I just kind of play them the same way I do
Super Turbo. The only games I think I'm even half-way decent at are Super Turbo and Tekken, with VF being a distant third.
Now MvC2 can go fuck itself.

Haha good to see some level headed people here in regards to MvsC2. On some boards it's like you're calling Chrono Trigger a shitty game.

CvsS2 is a blast though. I'm actually debating about throwing it in my PS2 right now. I don't think I ever actually beat it :O (Then again, last time I played it I used no one else except Dark Ryu)

Anyone remember if Bison has the Psycho Crusher or Psycho Ball in CvsS2? I hate hate hate the latter.

Agreed. Beating Kintaro and Shao Khan was annoying as hell.

Almost all single player AI in fighting games is cheap (but not insurmountable). Fighting games are about multiplayer anyway.

I think the hardest boss I ever fought was actually the guy from MvsC1 in Arcades. I remember it was like midnight (my friend owned the cabinet) and I was starting to fall asleep so instead all I did was just bash buttons while falling asleep. Next thing I know my friend goes "OH MY GOD YOU BEAT IT" and I was like "Woah shit!"

So I can say "I can beat *insert boss name here* while sleeping" without coming off like a douche :p
but as an alpha/cvs2 player shouldnt u be more used to footsies??
i'm used to footsies but without rolling or safe jumping to very it up i feel like jumping is a retarded thing to do unless you're jumping a hadouken. normals eat jumping for breakfast in this game and there's no low jump even to vary it up.

essentially i just feel rooted to the ground, restricted to ryu's ducking forward kick to hadouken. : \

as for those who hate on mvc2, there was a universe of depth there. a game that broke that so hard it came all the way back around and came compelling again. if you weren't part of the scene, you probably didn't understand the game.

-oh and the hardest capcom boss ever made is Xmen Children of the Atom Magneto. He'd just fly and be invincible all the time. it was mad stupid.

SNK has some beasts in their games as well.
How was SNK vs Capcom on the original Xbox?
I think they balanced it more but PS2 is still the tournament-preferred version for some reason. I may be totally off here though, so if I am, someone please correct me.

HD Remix has super easy cpu compared to super turbo arcade, that is brutal. The only difficult enemy in HD Remix is akuma if you're forced to fight him, he reminds me of super turbo difficulty.
