I still like it more then GTA IV which i will get flamed for i bet. The story on GTA IV kept putting me to sleep and can not keep motivated to playing it. I loved SA.

Quick questions to those who have bought the Xbox Originals. Is it exactly like having the disc, so you can't access your friends list or messages? And how are the achievements. I own San Andreas but hate how it cuts me outta Xbox live and shit, so i never play. I'd gladly pay $10 if they fixed that on the downloadable versions.

thanks for clearing that up, always kinda wondered that. i actually have both Max Payne's that i got at my GC for like $2.

Just got Perfect Dark and am strongly considering Toy Soldiers. Wish Scrap Metal wasn't the third choice, with its mediocre reviews. Otherwised, I'd probably be in for the 400 point rebate. But then again, I'm in a financial position where I shouldn't be buying any XBLA games (well, just couldn't resist Perfect Dark).

Yes it does, supporting widescreen and 5.1 is nice too
It's like GTA got the Perfect Dark treatment when you look at it

Sure it's not going to be great but it looks good, I just grabbed it and I'm satisfied with it. Blocky hands and angular shaped arms but overall it holds up very well today

Free? Where? I hope you're not referring to the GOTY edition because I think the DLC is part of its price, which is higher than the regular edition.

Borrow the GOTY edition from a friend. Maybe rent it? But it used from gamestop and return it? You can use a transfer cable and download the DLC to your PC then transfer to your xbox.

And aren't the DLC's $10 each? Meaning it's $50 to download them all? The normal version of the game goes for $20-$30 now, right? I think the $50-$60 for the GOTY is a great deal.

I went and bought it and wish i never did. The game will not WS on my WS HDMI screen. The output is only Full Screen as in black areas on each side. I hate how it switched to WS once during the loading photos then it switched to FS. I will not be buying another xbox original game on here. There is no achievements on this and it signs you out of live while playing it i guess. I quit to dashboard and said i signed back in. I wish i saved my 800 points now.

There is no WS on the marketplace one. I had other friends buy it as well and it is only FS. The graphics look just like they did on the original xbox disc. They did nothing really to this just prob fixed a few emulation bugs like they do in the free xbox original game updates when you put it in. There is also no option in the game to switch output modes or nothing so it can not be changed. F- rating for me. The game is still fun but i own the disc and figured playing without a disc would be cool and you said WS and it did not have WS. I feel cheated...

2 questions - does the Fallout 3 GOTY have all the DLC on a disk or do you get codes?
- did anyone get the 400 ms points from the second promotion from EA, where you had to buy a points card to spend on madden stuff??
 
fallout 3 GOTY has all the DLC on a 2nd disk you use to install them on your xbox (just like oblivion GOTY).

So yea just borrow the 2nd disk from a friend or get it from gamestop (and then return it within 7 days) . install it on on your HDD, and you have the DLC.
 
I haven't gotten the 400 EA rebate yet, and GOTY has all the DLC on a disc.

Edit: I'm not sure if mods are frowning on disc-sharing or not. I recall a thread where comments about it were deleted.
 
well i have 300 points left over so ill get 500 points and the 2 good dlcs tommarow. thanks for the info :) i'll ask my friends if they have the goty first though :p.
 
I have to admit, I'm tempted to get Point Lookout even though my friend is borrowing my copy right now and I never did bother to finish Broken Steel because I had lost interest. I hate how easily I'm swayed by sales. :(
 
Even though people said zeta wasn't all that good (and I think there was another one?), getting 4 of the 5 DLCs for what amounts to 2.50 each is a damn good deal*. Already bought one of the 5 last time it was on sale.

*bought some point cards in the recent kmart coupon fiasco.

1. Broken Steele (because it raises the cap to 30 and opens up post endgame play)
2. Point Lookout
2. Mothership Zeta
4. The Pitt

Thanks for the replies!! I was pissed when I learned that Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition didn't come with the DLC on a disk, glad Fallout 3 GOTY does! wonder why they all don't come on a disk? Gears of War 2 had just a code for all fronts right? I'd prefer disk dlc how bout u guys?

I got codes for - The Pitt, Operation Anchorage if someone wants to trade, pm me.
 
I'm glad Doom II still exists. I wonder what could possibly be taking so long.

Also, entirely wishful thinking, but I'd sure like to have Shadow Warrior one day.

I'd wait a bit before activating that card. On his podcast Major Nelson said it might be Avatar: The Burning Earth for Games on Demand. He might of slipped up as he was a bit tongue-twisted, but I'll update this around 11am when the deal finally flips.

He says wrong info a lot lately it seems. I no longer even go to his site for info now cause of it.

I am debating about getting all of them but is it really worth the deal or just buy the GOTY ver with them all on disc? I know ms loves to pull support once a new console is out so maybe best to get disc ver if they release them for such things now. The new console is not to far off.
