One of the Deals of the Week in October is going to be decided by voting. The options are:
Deathspank for 800 points
Trials HD & DLC 800 points/400?

Apologies for not remembering all the costs, I voted quickly before posting and can't see now. Live voting shows a very very even spread amongst all 5. Personally I want a deal on Deathspank, everything else I think has had a sale before. This was on my Spotlight.
 
I'd want a sale on deathspank as well. Although mainly because I have some of the Dragon Age DLC, PD, and Trials. (No interest in BFBC2). Not sure about BFBC2, but all the other have had sales (with the exception of PD / DS I believe).

Would be wrong as hell if it ran a 'month' late and no one could use their rebate points during this October sale.

The sale is in the US and Canada… and appears to be in the UK as well. The deal goes through October 4th.

For those of you, like me, who were wondering where the hell Might and Magic : Clash of Heroes HD was given its originial "Summer 2010" Release Date, I'm afraid they have revised said release date until Quarter 1 2011 as revealed by this look into the game over at destructoid :

That makes me sad, I was really hoping it was coming much sooner than anywhere from 3-5 months from now. Still looks sweet, however.
 
800 points isn't any surprise considering the other DC titles, but sucks it's at the end of the month. The week of Black Friday too.
 
For those not aware, Xbox.com went through a major overhaul. This resulted in some broken links, etc. Most of the links work, but I can't guarantee it.
I am sorting out the 500+ items "posted" since the the overhaul. It's obviously not that high, but I will try and work through it over the next week between classes and FO:NV. Sorry I didn't post this sooner, but I thought xbox.com would have setup a solution by now

Ok sorted out what few updates were actually in those 500+ posts. Xbox is still saying 100+ items are going up daily, but it's more like 10-15. The next week should sort things out

Has anyone had any trouble "purchasing" items through Xbox.com? I have had trouble before and after the major overhaul. I can log-in fine but when I try to "download an item to xbox" or whatever you do to "buy" it I have trouble. The website loads up but ends up sending me to Microsoft Log-In telling me that "Window Live ID is unavailable for this site for one of the following reasons...site is experiencing problems...site isn't part of windows live ids".

I am so confused because sometimes I like to look at the CAG deals and then immediately make my XBLA purchases on xbox.com.

If anyone has experienced something similar let me know.
 
Xbox.com is screwy since the update. Yesterday I couldn't purchase the SSFIV content through the website. Today Bloody Good Time went up, but there was no way to purchase it.

As for this thread my feed from xbox is only giving me 4-5 new items and then 30+ repeat items, and I know more than that went up that day.
 
I can't even find the marketplace when I log on. I wanted to download meat boy, but only have the friends and my xbox tabs. Error message pops up saying 'some content is temporarily unavailable'. The update needs to get here sooner rather than later.

Since when does Zune Marketplace offer season subscription discounts for TV shows?

It's about time, and how much of a discount is it? My initial guess is it looks like about 10%....

Since the dashboard refresh and discounts are 10% to 20% depending on show and season so YMMV. I still believe Hulu Plus ($8) or Netflix Streaming ($8) is still cheaper provided what you want to see is available
 
Supposedly the Super Meat Boy discount was to last through today, but trying to buy it all of a sudden I'm getting an error and the Xbox page lists it at 1200. What a bunch of crap.
 
Well guys, I have put off putting up this post to see if I could change my mind, but I don't think it's going to happen. I have decided that I can't continue running this thread. With school, my personal life (family stuff, new dog), I just can't keep up.

When I started it was easy to find what came out with a New-Content feed from Xbox.com and I could just basically copy, paste, edit, copy paste, edit, format, and update. I could check that against other sites and be happy I got almost everything. It took maybe an hour to and hour half to update and and 45 minutes to look through the news blogs for upcoming info (which I was doing anyway) - 2-3 hours a day doing something "productive" with all the time I waste on CAG and Joystiq/Kotaku/Ars/Shack/etc. I know it sounds dumb, but I had fun keeping this updated. - Then MS updated Xbox.com and changed the way they posted content to Xbox.com and broke the New-Content feed I was using. I emailed and tweeted MS. Not much has happened since then to fix the problem. Now a feed that had 20-50 items a day (sometimes 100+ on big Avatar days) was 100-150 items of repeat items, with 5-10 actual new items. So I had to then go to Xbox.com which only lists the last 10-15 items in each category, then check through the Xbox360 to see if I missed anything, then hunt down any items on Xbox.com. This was way more time consuming and even less accurate at best.

I will still run the Xbox-DotW thread as that is far less labor-intensive. Let me say thanks to all the CAGS who followed this thread and even PM'd me with appreciation. It really meant something to know it was appreciated. In fact, that's what made it so hard to just leave this thread. If anyone wants to take over, I will gladly give you tips, links, or whatever advice you need so you can carry the thread on.
 
This has been one of my "go to" threads for as long as you've been doing it, reddjoey. I hope someone will be able to take it over and maintain it, although it's hard to imagine anyone else doing it so thoroughly and so well. You've set the bar crazy high.

I can understand your reasons for stopping, though. Real life has to come first, and something as time-intensive as this can make it feel like you have way too much on your plate. All the time and work that you've put into this thread have been, and are still, greatly appreciated.

It appears that there is a way to play online with your xbox FREE only catch is you need to plug it into your pc...

so the question is

If jolt offer you FREE xbox servers so you dont need to subscripe to the MS Live

A newbie question:

I only recently signed up for Xbox Live, and I was wondering if the price for XBLA games eventually goes down? I've noticed that sometimes when a new game is released, there's a deal and then the price goes back up. Would the same game ever be on offer again?

There are a few that I'd like to download, Limbo for example, that I've missed my chance to get cheaper. Is there any point waiting to see if prices go down, or do they just stick?

I realise I probably sound like an idiot, but cheers in advance.
 
Some games have gone on sale multiple times (Risk: Factions only came out last year and has been on sale AT LEAST 3 times so far), while other games have never been on sale and they've been released years ago.

As far as waiting, most would probably say to do so, but I'd say it depends on the game and if you think it will go on sale or not.

Will just wait and see then. One of the reasons I didn't join LIVE straight away was because I worried that I'd spend shit loads of money on it. And it is tempting. I have played loads of trials and can see there are some worthwhile games, though to be honest most of them seem rubbish, but you're tricked into wanting a lot of them anyway because of the appealing set up of Marketplace! :)
 
Does anyone know how to get this gamerpic? Its bellatrix from Harry Potter. My sister downloaded the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows gamerpics but she wasnt in it. Can you unlock it by playing the game? Or maybe its free somewhere, or was a limited time thing? Any ideas?

Actually, does anyone know if there is a way to see what games give what items for achievements? I can find achievements but not rewards. :bomb:
