I had issues with it too. I had to be right in front of the kinect for it to hear "Xbox on" If I was even a little to the side it would not pick it up.

How big is the room it's in? Have you contacted ms support you might have a bad kinect.

I have yet to contact MS yet. My kinect seems to work. I tried Kinect Sports demo and it works. I was able to talk to it and it recognizes my voice.

It just does not Turn on. My friend said he says X-pause-BOX-pause-ON and that seems to work for him. Turning it off works great. No rhyme or reason with the system.

Is there a way to enable auto-login without the Kinect seeing my face? I only have one profile set-up.

If I say something in response to you, how could I have started anything?

Also, you act like im the only one that responds to you when you say something. Clearly seems to be a lot of other people that find your trolling annoying as well.

99 percent of time I'm not trolling it's giving my opions on the topic. I Gus's in most people mind here if you give negative opionions on a forum about the product it's trolling right? A lot of your buddies from ps forum trolled this page a lot but you don't hate them :/

for me I just say "xbox, on".

For the auto login, try going to the top of the screen, you should see your profile pic next to the notifications. When you go into that, you can choose "I wasn't recognized" and that should help with your auto signin problems...and no, there isn't a way to auto-login without kinect.

I can name couple people that for awhile now that come here to just troll and not giving legit opions

In all honest I don't try to be a troll at all I would say things I say do at times sound troll. I don't hate ms/sonynintendo I want them all to do well and enjoy all thier system and games.

When people configure the Kinect....how loud do you crank the speakers when it says to turn louder than normal?  I'll try again I suppose.  So annoying.

I put my speakers up just above regular listening level when doing the calibration.

One thing I found about the Kinect -- don't put it next to your wifi router. I was trying to figure out what was causing the drastic reduction in my wifi signal and realized it was coming from the Kinect when it was powered on. I moved it a few inches over and now it's fine (I had it basically in front of it and just to the right of my router slightly...definitely too close).

Ok, I had mine cranked up pretty loud. I think my normal received level is like 20, had to 35 when I did the Kinect. I'll configure again. I've honestly have not played around with the system enough.

I have my Kinect a few feet away from my router.

 
One thing that has annoyed me with the kinect is whenever I play Madden is when the kinect picks up commands from the tv in snap mode and changes my play. I wish it was able to distinguish between my voice and others
 
Apparently the XBOX ON is a BIG issue.  I was looking on the XBOX Forums and a Lot of people have the same issue.  Essentially, all my other voice commands work.  Weird.  Maybe it's a software issue

 
That is really weird that the XBOX ON is giving a lot of people issue. You figure that will be the one sentence phase that should work all the time given how common it is going to be used.

You can turn the kinect play-call feature off in the Madden settings.

Voice recognition is a lot harder to do than visual recognition, especially when it's competing against other sounds and voices.

 
Basically I'm seeing it all over gaming news but distinguishing a winner from one specific location or retail (PS4 sold really well in Europe, Xbox One sold really well at Walmart, etc) Black Friday is just worthless "news" at this point.

saying winner for this gen at launch when a system life last 7-8 years is just dumb all together lol. the thing is people make big deal out of numbers but to us what does sale number mean anything it's not like we get a big fat check from it.

 
has anything come out about the lights on the system,kinect, controller? some reason at times the lights on kinect and my system is brighter and sometimes it's so dark it's hard to see.

 
If numbers don't matter than why did you post the Xbox one Black Friday sales? Are you going back on your word now because Sony just announced they sold 2.1 million PS4 so far and now numbers don't really mean anything to you?

im not going back on anything it was just a thing that i seen interesting that people said xbox ones would not sell and making big deal out of it. but in the end i could careless who beats who as long as both companys keep fighting over those numbers only helps us the consumers in the end and better products and games.

I don't know what to think of it. There' s no games for it other than Dead Rising 3 right now, and there probably wont be anything else for 6 months. I have too much of a backlog on 360 and don't have the  money for xbawks 1. I like how it just says "Xbox one" on my friends list and doesn't tell the game they're playing.

I didn't know Matsui was banned, I thought he just left. I'm also pretty sure no one said that Xbox One would bomb right out of the gate, we knew it would sell to the Xbox faithful and the core crowd and that would be enough for initial sellouts at least. And in the end, it probably will do fine. Problem is "fine" may not be enough for the higher ups at MS, especially with the regime changes going on there.

 
My popups (achievements and game recordings) have stopped working. The only way I know I've gotten something is to go home and check my notifications. It started when I started Dead Rising 3. I thought maybe it was just that game but then I tried Ryse and I still don't get any popups. I went to settings and all my notifications are turned on. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm missing out on that feeling of accomplishment lol

 
i wonder if x1 recent got a update seeing i have auto update on i would never know. Some reason my tv and cable box is turned off every time i turn my system off it's really annoying this started just today. 

might i add my pops ups have also stop

OK so this has been driving me nuts: when I go into the Store and select an item (say, download Xbox Video), I can't for the life of me figure out how to go back in the Store and off that item that's been selected. Every time I exit out into a game, or go Home, and then try to go back into the Store, I'm STUCK on the same screen of the item I selected (i.e. download the Xbox Video page). How do you go back into the Store itself?

It's happened a few times and only turning the XB1 off and then back on does it seem to clear it. It's something I'm probably missing but I'd like to know what it is lol.

I don't know but ms has a lot of work to do with the ui. I can't stand the awful store for games and other this heck to even access FIFA demo I had to bing search for it.
 
With the number of units both companies have moved so far this year, I think they will both be quite content for the time being. What will be telling is the number of units that ship next year. You've got to sustain your momentum. I'll be interested to see how both Microsoft and Sony market their new consoles past the initial holiday buzz. Titanfall will be central to Microsoft's plans, while I suspect Sony is intending to supplement the post-launch doldrums with a number of smaller and self-published titles. (and eventually Infamous: Second Son)

In truth, the third parties are actually going to be some of the most crucial factors. Watch Dogs will likely be one of the bigger titles of Spring 2014.

 
Wait, there are demo's on the Store?  I agree, the layout is horrible.

One question I have, my PINS never seem to show up right away when I login.  I always have to PIN something, then they all magically pop up.  For example, I always have 2 pins, Dead Rising and XBOXONE IE that was there by default.  I removed the XBOX one and then my Amazon/NFL/VUDU etc all showed up. 

I just think that the software is buggy.  Feels rushed to me.  The PS4 interface is much easier to navigate, has a nice dedicated storefront also.  I've also had an issue where I was trying to Download/Install Kinect Fitness and it basically locked up my friends list.  I could not multi-task really.  It was just weird honestly.

Maybe I just hate the everything linked together aspect. I hear BING and I think of the Internet Search, not a storefront for MS.

I had this happen to me last night. All the pins for my games were missing, other apps were still there, though. I went and readded a game and the rest popped in, still in the correct order.

 
That is the main negative I have about x1 is the seems like rushed and unfinished ui. I love the tiles and what not but they need to get going on making sections like 360.

try restarting the system completely.
