I can wait it out since xbox one s and s orpio games backwards compatible. I got a ps4 pro around launch for sub 300 with target promo deals. Recently paid $230 for a xbox one s 1tb hopefully I don't regret it in a few months lol

Started great .... went downhill quick ...
Yeah. I went from refreshing amazons pre order page to meh....completely unimpressed. You could have unlimited power in your system but without software, it won't matter.

Sure am glad all those teraflops will be powering these retro looking indie titles. Thats exactly the type of game I imagined with all that power!!

Even the audience is just giving sympathy claps now after hollering and screaming at the start.

yea none of these are strict console exclusives, these are exclusives as in exclusively shown by MS. Some of these games are already on pc like black desert, battlegrounds, minecraft obviously. Alot are already up on steam as coming soon like that last night game, and sea of thieves has had pre-looks for the pc version for a while

thing is, none of these games are graphically intense.  For all the hollering MS has been doing about the power of this thing, I don't see anything that makes me want to run out and buy it.  So far, these would all be a let down on the original Xbone, much less "the most powerful console ever".

Yay ...more Cuphead ....

Lost interest in that one when they annouced it wasa just a series of boss battles, not a real game.

Super lucky's tale looks like a decent game if you have an itch for a Banjo Kazooie like game. If the humor is there too, I'd play it.

I've actually enjoyed what they've shown so far minus the "more minecraft" section. Don't know what you guys were expecting to be so negative.

Exactly! I was pretty down on Xbox but man they've surpassed my expectations. I have all gaming platforms so I can play games anywhere. That Crackdown though. Lord. Day one for sure. Please let it have co-op.

I expected to see something to convince me to buy a new console, I didnt see it. excited for state of decay 2 though.

Don't know really. Its not that I have seen anything really bad. Just nothing that has me really excited either. Will still most likely pick up a One X so that I can move my S to the living room for another UHD Player.

I've yet to see one game that looks like it takes advantage of all that extra power.  Everything shown looks like it could easily run on a regular xbox one.

The most powerful gaming console ever.

We were expecting the most beautiful games ever seen on a console with the longer draw distances, no drop in, and running 4K at 60fps.

Also...halo. C'mon we all know it. Everyone on this planet expected Halo.

Even though it wasn't going to happen, I wanted another Fable game lol. Of course I got it ... just some card game or something.

this is the biggest thing, the whole start of the conference was about power and then half of the games are cel shaded or retro style last gen level graphic games.

Metro most definitely looked like it took advantage of that power. Game looked incredible.

EDIT. Also got to take into consideration a lot of the power is going to increasing resolution. It all depends on what the devs wants to use the extra power for at least that's how it works on PS4 Pro. Unsure of Xbox's policy.

I really hope this isn't $499 now...

Decent presentation I think. A million times better than EA's.
If its $499 they are fucked. It's pretty clear that their strategy is the whole xbox platform and not just one console. The majority of the big games are playable on PC and Xbox One. So who knows. At 499 I would hesitate.

I did buy the Switch which I've barely played so ill pretty much buy anything. lol

At the end of the day here's the trick.

Consoles are about keeping everyone on the same hardware and not building pc's piecemeal.

Buy an Xbox one for 399.
Trade it in or sell it for 100
Buy a Xbox One S for 299.
Trade it in or sell it for 100 (tiv at bb and GameStop are 75)
Buy a Xbox one X for 499.

We're only 4 years in and we've now spent 900 dollars on a console.

That means that this thing NEEDS to be the most fantastic, incredible, most beautiful console on the planet.
And it isn't. It has to be godly and PERFECT at this price point.
And it isn't.

Which is too bad because I was very excited for it.

(Full disclosure, I currently own a Xbox One S, PS4, and PC. Just so people don't respond with "fanboy" posts.)

As I often say on these boards, fanboyism is plain stupid.  If you're going to be a fan - be a fan of the game developers and the games.

I do want Xbox to get serious and compete hard with Sony and Nintendo because competition only breeds more innovation, more advancements, and most importantly - more games for the gamers.

My concern has been that MS isn't committed to videogames, and that is not good for us gamers.  This E3 at least looks like MS is putting the best foot forward it can.  We know the company is hamstrung at this point and is trying to make up for some bad business decisions.  The cancellations of many of its first parties, and the inability to manage/invest in its exclusives is something Spencer has acknowledged -- the question remains whether MS is willing to put quality AAA titles out that are loss leaders to truly get the Xbox platform competitive with the PlayStation's library.

Personally, I think next E3 will be the "real" proof whether MS is in this for the long haul.  Right now, at least we see that MS is not surrendering -- it's willing to keep investing to make Xbox sustainable.

Now the real test will begin.  I hope MS keeps investing and brings us new games.  I'm not terribly interested in seeing just better looking third party games.

After all, the real gamers here know power has actually not been a deciding factor in platform dominance since this recent generation.  MS putting all their eggs in power alone isn't going to revive the Xbox.  What will matter is their software library ... which I hope will keep growing and diversifying over the next year.

After this massive letdown of a conference, I can't imagine how they could possibly charge 499 for this. I fully expect them too, I just don't understand their thinking with this conference.

Came for the new games announced. Got a bunch of armchair video game industry analysts who live in their moms basement. Cag never disappoints.
