I just saw Witcher 3 on that Xbox X Enhanced...... it doesn't even have a PS4 Pro patch so that's awesome.

They also didn't sold a lot of console at $499. I don't mind the $499 price as long as they have software behind it that show you that it's worth the upgrade.

Bought into the hype and paid 499 for the Day one edition Xbox One. Not this time. I'll stick with the One S and PS4 Pro.

And the original Xbox One tanked so hard they had to strip a component from it just to cheapen it to where people wanted to buy it. But the damage had been done and its sold half the units.

Same man. Damn shit just broke my heart. Lord did Xbox fuck themselves. No One, no pun intended, is buying this thing for that much. This comes from a guy that has two PS4pro's and two xbox one S.

You're point is valid, but you are getting ripped off if you sell your used Xbox Ones for $100. Why would anyone trade in a console for so little to upgrade? Even selling on eBay after all the fees will get you at least double that.

Thank you. Seriously, what did people expect here. This is a message forum for gamers -- we love talking about all corners of the industry. You would think people came here to get a list of what EVERY single gaming news blog and media site is posting the minute they're up.

This is about hearing and talking with folks who are OUTSIDE the analyst industry. Frankly, I've always cared more about what people think in these forums than what some analyst at IGN or Kotaku has to say given they're inside the industry and have their allegiances.

 
the only games that got me interested so far is the new Metro, Life is Strange 2, and Anthem. and i don't think they are exclusives

Exactly.. we know this thing will get a $100 price drop by March cause it isn't going to sell well.. new comers aren't paying that, and the price discourages people who own an S to upgrade.. Microsoft has learned nothing from the Xbox One launch.

 
I loved the OG Xbox, I loved the 360, I paid 499 for the Xbone.  To date, the xbone has been my biggest gaming purchase regret ever.  Still, I was so excited for this presentation.  I really regret wasting the past hour and a half watching this borefest.  I see some xbox players upgrading, but Sony still has its foot on this generation and perhaps beyond. 

I just don't see MS ever being the leader it was in the 360 era ever again unless something drastic happens.  They seem to have completely lost the magic they had in the 360 era.

Tell me who is buying used launch Xbox ones for 200 dollars?

You can barely get that for the S.


I can buy a NEW S for 200 (I did just 4 months ago actually)
 
Price is fine.  Assassin's Creed and Anthem looked cool.  I don't see many compelling reason to buy one yet however.  You'd have to really enjoy playing Forza with a 4K setup.

This isn't a brand new console. This is a premium console that renders in 4K for $500. Anyone who thought it would be lower given the specs is delusional.

There's a reason why they lowered the price of the One S today. People who want to be on the cutting edge and own 4K/HDR sets will love this but if you don't have a 4K set then yeah you're mostly wasting your money.

Either way I can't wait to play Anthem, Cuphead, Ori, Metro on my Samsung set.

Here's hoping Destiny 2 and RDR 2 get Xbox X patches.

All Sony really needs to do cut the Ps4 pro price by $50 for the holiday season and the Xbox x will find virtually no traction outside of the loyalists. There don't even seem to be any real exclusives to back it up either :p

I get you. I have an S8000 Samsung and would love to buy the X but nope. The price is way too high for it to sell. If it doesn't sell well, developers arent going to put in the extra time to optimize games for it. You end up with something like the Pro which has had shitty optimization.

 
$500 confirmed... figured it would be more but really, guess it's not too surprising. Great price for a true 4K console... wondering if Sony will drop the Pro's price- I hope they do, seems like that console never goes on sale. 

The hardware/console looks great but damn, talk about a weak lineup. Most of the good looking games seem like they'll be multi-platform games. Metro Exodus looks fucking awesome.

They should have announced the price at the beginning, now its all anyone will talk about. Conference was ok, should have locked up anthem as an exclusive tho.

 
This holiday season you will likely be able to get two consoles (One S, Switch, PS4, PS4 Pro) for close to the price of the One X.  This is assuming Sony lowers the price of the PS4 Pro and the One S drops to 199.  I didn't see anything in the E3 briefing to get me excited enough to pay 499.

Excited to see the Sony conference.

In all honesty all I care about is how the game plays. I own a PS4 Pro but if it runs at a higher resolution on Xbox X then I'll happily sacrifice some weapons for it.

$499 is a solid price.  Not sure if this is going to work for them, though.

The BC is certainly nice - but do people really care about the OG library?  Not sure how wise it is to be dropping your company resources on doing that BC vs. working on making your exclusives.  Is this what MS is betting on?

Again, this bank on power alone seems to be what the Xbox OG banked on -- and well, that was an absolute commercial failure -- and its success is only based on how much MS was willing to bleed to get its foot into this industry.

Do folks here care about this extra power based on this library? 

What game did you guys really think would be worth it?  Ori looked cool.  Cuphead has always been on my radar -- but is that enough?

And lastly, without exclusives, what is Xbox's role in this industry?  What's its identity?  Curious to hear people's thoughts here.

If Sony drops the price of both the slim and Pro, only hardcore MS fans will be buying an X this holiday.

They don't have the user base to lock up AAA exclusives any longer.. and it's clear they aren't even locking up long term exclusivity depending on what "console launch exclusive" actually means.

Relax, I wasn't expecting anything less than $500 since they announced the system last year. I knew the price was $499 since this morning. I was just expecting more games that show off the Xbox One X specs that they hyped as a monster.

I'll pick one up eventually but not at launch. Right now I'm happy with my Xbox One S.
