If you missed a Scorpio I have some extras for trade/sale. PM me with offers. Mostly interested in retro and LRG games, but I'm willing to consider most any reasonable offer.

Just got an email from gamestop. Tomorrow 12 pm CT they will have more xbox x preorders available. Quantity limited, etc... Doesn't specify in store or online though.

*Edit* Email says visit your store at noon to get yours reserved...so in store definitely, not sure about online.

Pre-ordered the Scorpio edition. How much do you guys think I can get for my regular X1S?

Not sure what the point even is. Probably won't even matter until RDR2, which might look better than on PS4 Pro. Meh.......

I'm already in for a Scorpio in store pickup from BB, but this was a great opportunity to change the pickup store to one closer to home.

I am sorry I am a little late to this, but why would anyone buy a regular X when the Scorpio is the same price?

Anyways has GameStop released pre-orders of the Scorpio yet?

Can I preorder in store at gamestop? I have trade credit and don't want to pay tax online. I also don't want to call gamestop. Website says "online only".

You should be able to. I just got my preorder in for the standard Xbox One X at my local GameStop about an hour ago.

Thanks, I was able to get one as well. I've never had anyone at this gamestop talk so much to me (they're usually very grumpy and antisocial). After I told her I was going to pay for the whole thing she got all giddy and asked what games I was looking forward to... and I just stared... realizing nothing was coming out anytime soon lol. I just wanna play destiny 2 with my friends in glorious 4k and HOPEFULLY HDR. Also curious about Evil Within 2.

I waited at Gamestop about an hour before noon, and by 15 minutes after noon no one else had showed up to pre-order it. Some other stores had called saying they had "campers", so maybe it was just the store I was at...

So, it looks like the demand for this thing is pretty low. I guess MS initially alotted a small amount of preorder units to drive up demand. Then they allot more units to retailers and they're not selling out.

Talked to some Gamestop's in town and I was given the impression that there was not much interest outside the initial rush of pre-orders for the Scorpio edition. I can't imagine this is going to sell well at all.

The demand was pretty much just from the hardcore Xbox audience and scalpers hoping to sell the Limited Project Scorpio edition.

I think It will have a huge first month and maybe a decent December but will fall off from there.

Agreed, this is Xbox One launch all over again.. by March of next year this thing will probably see $100 discounts and a free game and year of live included.. that's when I'll be buying.

I'll happily stick with my Scorpio. I was shocked by how much I got for my Day One edition when I sold it. This will actually be my 4th Xbox one. I sold my day one way back when target was giving an extra game with purchase of the holiday bundle, then I got my S when target had the buy two glitch where you cancelled the game and an S was $220 after tax. I only paid like $40 to get a brand new one with a game each time. Seemed like a deal, never had to worry about the console dying of age and it was cheaper than buying just the game.

Now, I'm getting the Scorpio because it's what I asked for(a console that could rival or beat a good gaming PC), and I vote with my wallet. Yeah, it probably won't win this generation but you gotta support a division head like Phil Spencer IMO, may never see someone like him in that position again. He's done well for a guy that was basically handled a spoo to clean up a few years of elephant crap that Xbox had become.

Eh I have no interest in Xbox One doing well. Imo if they keep struggling maybe that will get their ass in gear and focus on actually make exclusive games again.

Got it at newegg, its the only place that is tax free for me, which is more savings than any 5% or 6% program by far.  Just hope they actually deliver.  Already have an One S and PS4 Pro and a Switch, but gotta have that new shiny thing, right?

Article makes no mention of how many units have been offered or how many were pre-ordered. So yes it could very well be selling like crap. Example: What if they only offered 200,000 units worldwide for preorder, and some stores still haven't sold out? In that case it would be considered "selling like crap". I will have first hand access to November sales numbers by Mid December (not sharing, so don't ask) so I will be able to make a decision then if I want to try and get one in Dec or wait a few months to get the inevitable "deal".

Because Amazon is a litmus test of how well something is selling. . .OR it could just be that people are pre-ordering with no money down in the odd chance it winds up being limited and worth money to flip during Christmas. I too could blindly place a pre-order I have no intention of keeping but I value my bandwidth.

Yea, I've decided to pass on the X and stick with my S. $500 is just too much and I'd rather put that money towards a 4K HDR TV this holiday.

You all do realize to Pro never sold well either? This will trend the exact same way. I remember talking with the guys at Gamestop a few days before it released, and they still had plenty of preorder spots, infact my store on had 3 preordered. People just don't see the "need" for a faster system, when it still plays the same games. I think it companies were dumb for not making exclusives for the new hardware. That would get people to buy it.

It's too big of a risk to make pro exclusive games as the install base will be much lower. Microsoft or Sony would have to give some sort of incentive to the publisher to make a game that ONLY plays on their pro systems. The game would have to be really good (probably AAA) to convince people to upgrade, and games of that caliber usually cost more to make. It just doesn't make sense financially at this time.

I don't think they're expecting this to fly off the shelves, but it may be testing the waters for how future console launches are done.

The first system to have an interactive sex doll will fly off the shelves.

They'll all be purchased by some guy named John Doe, but shipped to 1,000,000 different US addresses. And no one will actually "own" one.

Where can I preorder this system? Asking for err.. uhhh.. a friend...

Well the XB1 X, and the PS4 Pro are enthusiast level consoles which won't sell as well as the lower priced base models.

PC gaming is similar with graphics cards. A 1080ti and 1080 are enthusiast while 1070 and 1060 geared towards the mainstream, where all the money is.

MS is selling this X model at a loss. I'm thinking it only exists to keep the brand name strong by one up'ing Sony's Pro.

The Pro was a decent upgrade for a lot of my Playstation exclusives. I'm expecting the same once I get my X.

Anyway I'm just bored here in my break. I want tacos.

I don't think this is accurate.. have not seen it reported that Microsoft is taking a loss on these consoles and I believe Microsoft said they never will take a loss on hardware again..

Phil said the console is not sold at a profit or sold at a loss. They are probably assuming whoever buys a X buys one digital game to make up for the hardware loss. IE someone buys Forza for $60 (digitally) then MS makes a profit. They were probably able to get the system at $499 with very slim margins and hope you buy into their digital ecosystem. The typical CAG probably makes both MS and Sony some good $$$ even when factoring in discounted year subscriptions. I'm really curious how much MS makes off the XBox One S considering it has already hit around the $200 price point with Minecraft.

Yea I think you are right. I re-read the reply that Spencer said and it sounds like its breaking even. And like David Hibiki mentioned, the profit will be in games.

Xbox already makes retail stores more money than PS4 based on unit cost ($30 vs $10) but who knows if that is because it really is cheaper to make or if they are trying to incentivize them to sell more because they are behind.
