WOOHOOO! I beat it! Finally! The next to last level stumped me a bit, but I finally got it. Wow.. seriously one of the best games I've ever played in my life (at least puzzle-wise). Completed in 19 hours, 58 minutes, and 40 seconds. :p So close to 20 hours. I could have edited my post before, but I felt this deserved its own post. WOOHOO!
Congrats. Probably the best $40 I've spent on a game. Was worth the price of admission for the squid level alone.
I won't deny that I'm playing the everloving shit out of some Super Mario right now, but I'm still in the process of getting all the hidden treasure. While nowhere near as exciting in gameplay as the main story arc with all of its crazy shits - the hidden treasure bits work quite well... They do blow me the eff away with how deep some of the simplest little levels are.

My Game of the Year.

i guess i'll do my part to keep this topic on the first page.

amazing, amazing game. i just beat the level where you have to
steal the treasure map back from Rose
and even though i died a bunch of times, i still got that great "AH HA!" moment when i finally figured it out.

the fact that i only have about 60 treasures, and that i only usually play one level each day or so means it'll probably keep me busy for the rest of 2007....which is fine by me......

The level in the spoiler tag above is one of my big favorites. There is a similar "one-off" kind of level, with a "world" that is completely self-contained down the line that knocked me on my ass, and judging from The Crotch's reaction (the character, not my body region) my awe of it is not unique.

I'm really surprised that so many people are enjoying this game as much as they are. The gameplay is frustrating, and I was expecting more of "no, this pisses me off" kind of reactions, which turned people off from other games of similar genres...
Warning: Contains hard puzzles for hard-core players!
(LINK for non-blievers)
Is this game still ultra rarez?
It's not rare. Go to almost any major retailer and you will see plenty of copies.

Well I've been playing for a while, and I gotta say, I'm not too impressed so far. Maybe it's just that the only point 'n' clicks I ever got into were the first two Monkey Islands, and I'm expecting too much. The puzzles are usually pretty clever, but it's missing something in humor/presentation. I was hoping for more of the kind of humor like in the intro, where Wiki makes you drop the umbrella.

I'm only on the level with the snow-sweeping guy though. How long should I stick with this before I trade it?

I'm well aware of that, mate.

Some interesting levels await you. Personally, I really liked the level with the paintings. That was genius, anyone agree?

Yes!!
The Mad Science level was awesome too!!
I also liked the battleship!!
..and the final battle!! (the level before that..was quite insane, though)

agreed. i personally think the game is hitting its stride right now in the 5th area. some really great, clever puzzles in the mirror and painting levels.

i finish a level and turn the wii off, but the game keeps sucking me back in......

When I found out what to do on the paintings level, I was like wow. Never expected that. Yeah. Mad Science was great too, liboo. I felt stupid with
the bat
. Pretty much all the levels in 5th area owned. Pissed me off at the next to last level. I love how you can see how short Rose's skirt is in all the scenes.. :D

Right, so because of you wonderful people, I finally picked up Zack & Wiki tonight. Impressions shall follow once I begin playing.

HOWEVER, one interesting item to note is that when I was in-store on the 12th, they had at least 25+ copies of Z&W... and today I bought the last one. So, apparently it's selling. Which, I take it, is good. :applause:

Where the impressions be at?
i bought the game during the B2G1 free, but don't have the time. Might consider starting tommorow, even though i still have SMG and MP3.
Yeah fuck those games. Play Zack & Wiki.

So, now that I've gotten around to finishing up most of my end-of-semester work, I finally got to play Zack & Wiki.

I just beat 'King of the Jungle'.

I heart this game.

That's... that's all I can say. No words. None. :D

That's the beauty of Z&W. You can do 1-2 levels and move on to a different game in the same night. It's not one to draw you in for hours at a time.

That being said, I sat it aside for GHIII, Mario Galaxy and Ratchet.

I said Zack & Wiki was my game of the year way prior to experiencing the gem that is Super Mario Galaxy, and currently I am playing Metroid Prime 3 Corruption.

I won't knock either SMG or MP3:C, because they are amazing games. Really, really well done, to the point where I'm more suprised by MP3:C than I've been by either Z&W or SMG. But dammit, Z&W was the most fun that I've had ever. Nothing about MP3 or SMG can be said to dissapoint. But nothing can impress me as much as a puzzle adventure with a release date of 2007.

That'd be all.
Don't you get horrible motion sickness, Blackbird? I think Z&W might be a better idea...
NOOO i should have read this post yesterday. Within 10mins of playing, i got very serious motion sickness and was "paralized" for the rest of the day. Today i will play Z&W.
The OP should change the title of this thread. This game is not rare and it makes the forum look like a shifty eBay auction.
Why do you hate Zack & Wiki?

I've barely had a chance to play the game myself but I've already proselytized its virtues to two of my friends who are casual female gamers. They couldn't stop gushing about the cute characters and the funny puzzles. Now they're telling all their friends about Z&W. Word of mouth in that crowd will help to buoy sales! Here's to hoping Capcom builds upon Phoenix Wright and Z&W, and becomes the next Sierra! Don't clog my pipe dream.

Just figured I should mention here that speedy's weekly ads thread shows Zack & Wiki on sale for $29.99 at Circuit City next week (Dec. 9-15). Most of us in this thread already own the game but hey, we're all about spreading the good word, right? I might just buy a copy or two as Christmas gifts.
Just saw this on Destructoid...possible confirmation on Zack & Wiki 2?

I don't buy it. TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.

Mega Man Scramble Battle? If that is a Megaman Party game, I will be PISSED OFF.

On topic: Though this genre isn't my cup of tea, I think this would make a great gift for my sister.

I have to say, I am really impressed by this game so far. This is something that I really never wouldve given a shot if it werent for both internet hype and waggle.

I've never really been into the point and click adventure genre, but point and waggle made me curious enough to go see what it was about.

I just cleared the 2nd world, the ice place. Unfortunately it'll be a little while before I'll play it again because I've been playing at someones house and it'll be a while before I'll be able to get a SD card to him to tranfer the save back to me.

I really didnt have time to play, but I'm over here building his computer and there was down time during things like drive formatting or file transfers.

Haven't touched this game yet, waiting for the semester to end in a couple weeks. Been siting aside Galaxy too... and ghost squad. Hope this game can pull me away from MOH H2 onine (I'm sure I'll enjoy it any way).
