taking a frogbomb to the other side and using it on the fish

2: The noise to which you refer is a result of Zack overheating. Once you stop overclocking him get out of the fire area, you should never hear it again. Which, I guess, you're already out of.

I just got the last piece of the treasure to complete the pirate. But i was wondering one thing about the puzzle where you got the last piece.
Ok so first those things give bats/rain, then snake/ghosts. But then they jump and one does not. Which tells you which color circle you are supposed to stand. The second time there is a ghost head in the chest of the color you are supposed to stand in. Finally the third one i have no idea what you are supposed to look for. The only thing i can figure out is that its always red. Is this correct or was i just lucky?

PS. is there anything you have to do to get those special NES looking icons? I got one in the level
where you fight the squid on the boat level after you complete the pirate.
But after i got it i tried the same place again and i couldnt get it to pop up.

the eyes flash in the statue that you need to avoid, I believe (might be the other way around, though)

What the hell just happened?

Im in treasure island.
So i got the frog over by barbaros, so he whips the monkey to change a block into an enemy and he changes the frog into a bomb while he is at it. Barbaros went running and i pulled the rope and he tripped. Then he got up and changed me into one of those blocks. There wasnt even any time to do anything. What a load of shit.

Im really tempted to look at a walkthrough. I mean this game is fun, but sometimes you can only go over a level so many times.

EDIT:
Well after reading a walkthrough....well part of it...i decided to go at this level again. I cant believe i wasted 20 or so minutes just to fuck it up at the end because i didnt point and click fast enough. Seriously. Now i get to do it all over tomorrow. I dont even understand this last level, its like mario galaxy slammed into Zak and Wiki. I cant remember any other levels like this, and so far this has been the worst level. Its more pain than pleasure.

I stocked up on 5 platinum tickets after going most of the way through it, and I still couldn't beat it, due to terrible timing at the end. Maybe I'll try again some other time.

I just beat the game, thought the ending was great. But there are a few things i need answers for.

When you go to each main level, that leads you do all the other levels within it, there always seems to be one missing in the south east area. Is there hidden levels there?

Also how do i go about getting the hints within the game, that clue me in on getting secret treasures in each level?

One last thing, once you get a secret treasure do you have to complete the level to save it? Or can you just pause go back to the hideout and it will save it?

1: You need that treasure-hunting-rabbit to get the clues for the hidden treasures. And a MENSA member to figure them out at times.
2:
The sword's really quite easy when you get used to it, though I've heard there's a way around it. One important thing with the sword is that you hold the remote sideways
3: Whoa my!

Just got the game today. I got it because you guys like it (I was on the edge on this one before), and I like these kinda games anyway. Anywho I feel really good I bought it because I am supporting this game, and not some of the crap that comes out nowadays.

I made it up to the third level in the first stage and I am loving it very much. I can't wait to play more of it :D

Dont play it too much, the last two nights sleep have been restless with dreams about this game. :bomb:

My issue was me trying to swing and it wouldnt. I might've been going too fast for it to follow, but I blew six platinum tickets trying to do one swordfight.

Whoa my! indeed.
...

I didn't even know you could die at that bit.

...

Woah-hey?
Im not sure. Ive died against the regular enemies, but when i lost three times against the one on the bridge right by barbaros i would just fall back.

I just got to the squid. I even went back to the early jungle levels and wow.. damn. those puzzles pale in comparison to the later levels in a good way.

seriously though, I love the art direction of the game. reminds me of a very defined stile mixed with saturday morning cartoons.

Yeah ive been going back to old levels trying to find out the secret treasures, missing sparkles that you can jingle at, and even missing some things i missed before. Like the level with the treasure in ice. The first time around i just pounded on it forever till it was free. This time around i figured out how to do it correctly.

Im still wondering where you get the clues from, that give you hints on what you need to do to unlock the hidden treasures.

You have to keep sending Maddy and hopes he brings it back from his treasure runs.

I mentioned an alternate way of getting rid of the fish earlier. Without giving away too much...
use the worm to lure the frog to the other side

Wow, I actually beat it. Last battle was pretty epic.
I kept losing to the patrollers
Being shitty with the sword myself (even after I realized you had to hold the remote sideways), I can say with certainty that you die after 3 hits against the pirates wandering around, but the pirate on the bridge does not kill you for whatever reason.

I still prefer the squid level to the final boss. There was just such a great back-and-forth in the squid fight.
You knock out my propeller? Fine, now you're a sitting duck for my bombs. You knock down my mast? Okay

You can
fight the patrolling pirates? I didn't know that
. I always just avoided them.

Yeah,
You can actually kill the first one you see before going up the elevator by lifting that big rock near the treasure ship when he is climbing down to the bottom level where Barbaros is. Just make sure he is under you in that path as you go to pick it up.

It's been quite a while, but
I believe you just have to put the untransformed worm right in front of the slide. The (also untransformed, obviously) frog should chase it down
.

Great, now I want to go play that again to make sure that's how you do it. Thanks a lot.

Anyone else think those music skeleton missions are almost unbeatable? Maybe im holding the controller wrong, but i hold it up like i would do when shooting a cannon, and then flick it when im supposed to. But it seems very hard.

I'm currently at the beginning of the last world.

The only one that I had trouble with was the second to last one (Wily's Theme 1 from Megaman 2) because of all the half notes. One tip I can give is that make sure you aren't accidentally shaking the wiimote twice every note (like if you're bringing it back too quickly), watch his eyes. A green/blue ^ like shape is a hit while a red x is a miss.

Hmmm....so i could be messing up because i move it, and then back to where i started from? Should i move it forward and stop when a note hits and then move it back when the next note hits? And when there is a long note should i just keep moving it in the same direction till its done, or do i just keep wiggling it back and forth?

I start playing this game yesterday.

man it's so wack tho! I spent like 6+ hours on it already and most of that time is pent either running around not knowing what to do (stupid azz snake has to scare the frog from off its window area!!) or restarting stages over and over again!!

nah, it's fun!

I've beaten 2 stages on the 3rd world (lava area)

Oh man talk about errors in games. Not sure if this is known, but I was collecting all the Ancient Lores from the bunny that hunts treasure for you. Well i ended up getting them all, and while i was writing them down on my notepad for easy refrence, i noticed the error. In the Midieval Castle section it goes from Ancient Lore VII to Ancient Lore IX. Seems they just skipped over 8 all together. It continues to XI, but there are only 10 Lores for the Midieval Castle.

And in case anyone was wondering, it seems that 2 of the Western Volcano Lores are for the air ship level. I found that strange.

Anyway, right now im trying to get all the hidden treasures now that i collected all the hints. Plus now that i seem to have collected all the treasure you can from that one bunny, now all i keep coming up with is those dolls you can use to bring you back to life.

Watch his eyes to know whether or not, you're messing it up because of that. If you bring it back to the original position a little slower, you should be fine.
With the long notes, you have to wiggle it back and forth quickly.

Hmmm ive gotten almost everything. All levels are 100% except the medieval one. I only have the hidden treasure to get in the main boss level, which can be a pain!

Yeah, that one was... wow. The sheer size of it was pretty damn intimidating when I first walked into it. Are you getting slowdown on it, or was that just me? I haven't seen anyone else mention it.
Anyone else think those music skeleton missions are almost unbeatable? Maybe im holding the controller wrong, but i hold it up like i would do when shooting a cannon, and then flick it when im supposed to. But it seems very hard.
I was having trouble with the half notes in some of the songs -- I ended up just shaking the living shit out of the Wii remote during long sections with half notes and I would pass the song. I think the game counts a "hit" note much higher than a "missed" note counts against you.

My wrist hurt the next day. My first ever injury sustained while playing a video game. Thanks a lot, Bonelich.

So, I'm on the last level, and I need help
The part with the anchor. Apparently a lot of people are having trouble throwing it, but I can't even pick it up. I assume the anchor is the thing to the right of the cannon with the crank. When I check it, the only thing I can grab is the crank and Wiki says something about "Maybe there's a switch we need to press first. None of the walkthroughs say anything between catching the first and throwing the anchor, so I'm lost.

Also, for Bonelich, using very small motions is best.
Just click the anchor, not the base.
Believe me, I've been trying that. The only time the pointer turns red is on the crank. I realize that this should be simple, but I can't for the life of me get it to work. It frustrates me more to know that I got through the rest of this game with little to no problems, and now the simplest thing is holding me up.

Do I click the anchor before of after the zoom in?

Throwing it was a whole other issue (
I think the trick is to hold down A when you make the throwing motion, but I never knew for sure
)

I did not hold down "A". I think. According to MarioColbert, you have to
get it swinging nice and good, and when you make the throwing motion, point your arm (and the remote) straight forward and leave it there for longer than you think you should
.

I beat.
I didn't realize that I had to keep throwing the arm back before the anchor unlocked.

It was a brillant game, and I pity those who haven't picked this up. (the ending made me get a little teary)

Yeah i was going to say you cant really unlock it till later in the level. Also i never held A. Just swung it around till it was fast and then whipped it forward like i would do in real life.
