I doubt I'll get the new Blazblue, at least not till it is cheap like Hank, I just wasn't able to get into those games since I couldn't find a character that I felt like I could actually play and enjoyed.
We all know it's because there is no She-Hulk in it though...

Uh, I have actually I own Platinum and Makoto, the only one I haven't played and don't own is the butler.

He totally seems like a Platinum the Trinity kinda guy.
I was trying to get into Valkenhyn -- transforming into a fucking wolf for his Drive moves was awesome.

Visually she is sweet, but I just couldn't figure out how to play her well. Didn't help that I'd get my ass handed to me by Uraizen in Platinum on Platinum fights, it's just like, I wish I could do half the shit I'm being obliterated with.

Valk is awesome, he's really good at putting on pressure. He just doesn't have any good reversals.

Aren't there no missions for her either (or did that get patched in at some point)? (Or maybe there were and I couldn't even make it through the first or second one).

Every DLC char came with missions, their own theme song, all their colors, unlimited version of them, etc.

There were definitely missions for her and I think I know where you got stuck if you did attempt them, lol.

Ok, I got stuck then; which isn't surprising since I couldn't do very many people's missions at all, which is kind of one of the reasons I wasn't that into the game, it felt like no matter who I picked I couldn't actually play the game.

Well, the missions themselves aren't exactly easy either and not all of them are applicable in real matches. There's usually easier ways to get the same amount of damage. It still does teach you some things that combo into each other.

There's this guy who puts the trials for fighters on youtube with him performing them and he recently ranked the difficulty of trials from each game in his opinion.

Many people ask me my personal opinion on trial difficulty for games.

If the scale was 1 out 10 in difficulty

MVC3 - 3
SSF4 - 4
3rd Strike - 5
UMVC3 - 5
Blazblue - 9
KOF 13 - 10

As you can see, it's not easy, so don't feel too bad.

How's the netcode?
Granted, it won't get me to buy a SNK fighter, since I haven't cared about one since Samurai Showdown 3... but I'm curious, since I believe the last KoF was supposed to be one of the worst efforts at online play ever.

The idea of the tournament would be to find out who has put the most time into BlazBlue. That way, it would go to somebody who really likes the game. Icebeast doesn't seem too interested in it, sadly.
