Free game (Far Cry 4, The Crew, Watch Dogs, AC Black Flag, Rayman Legends or Just Dance 2015] from Ubisoft if you purchased AC Unity Season Pass

Wish I could have bought season pass to get far cry 4 lol

I actually just got unity in the mail today and I'm hoping that by the time I play it the bugs will have been ironed out

Horrible launcj and inexcusable but if it's patched soon then I really can't complain
 
I'm going to guess that they pulled the plug on buying the season pass from registers at brick & morter stores too then. It would be pretty amazing if you could still get FC4 or The Crew for what, $30?

They'll give you one of their other POS for free.

Not sure if this really is a good apology. I'd want a refund and a promise they will finish their games next time, under penalty of death of the CEO if its not done.

 
I went to my local gamestop about an hour ago (half hour after the news broke) and purchased the season pass for ps4. Redeemed it on psn just fine. YMMV maybe?

I bought the Gold Edition on Steam....then, because I enjoy throwing money at things that don't work, I bought the Season Pass on Xbox One, too (after redeeming a Unity XB1 game code).  Hopefully I get one code for Steam and one for XB1.

I've been looking around digitally so I didn't have to take a trip to the store due to work but alas it's all been pulled down.

You probably have to get stuck in a certain building while playing Unity then press Up Down Up Down Left Right Left Right A B A B Select Start and then a DOS menu comes up to where you can choose one of those games.

That's a great idea. I wonder would that work if you just buy the season pass and not the actual game? I'm to chicken to try. If it doesn't work that's money down the drain.

I imagine that this would work unless they check your installed game list, who's to tell if someone didn't buy a disc version of the game and the pass...then never put the disc in after all this hassle.
 
Thnx OP, ran up the street to GS and grabbed one for 29.99 printed on receipt, used credit even better, New Release game for only 29.99, now to decide FC4 or The Crew!

 
I can confirm that Gamestop just sold me a Assassins Creed Unity PS4 Season Pass 30 minutes ago. I'll roll the dice to see if I can get a free game out of it. The Pass was $29.99.

Awesome.  Got a refund on the Destiny Expansion Pass and bought the AC Unity pass over a week ago.  I actually really enjoyed Unity on PS4 and think the bugs were miniscule on that console.  Looks like it will have paid off.  Might get the crew if it ends up being nicely reviewed.

So glad I got a refund on the Destiny expansion.

Are you sure it's an actual Season Pass? I called my Gamestop and they said they "have them" but it's just a currency code, so you can use that $29.99 to buy anything...

 
They clarified this on the FAQ in the comments

The season pass MUST be tied to your account/redeemed. So if you find a place to get the SP still and you buy it, but dont own Unity, its a useless purchase.

Its still able to be redeemed, but if you dont have Unity and are buying it in hopes of getting this, be wary. The redemption will be directly through Ubisoft and not via a third-party/point of purchase retailer.

I don't follow you at all. Why should we be wary of buying the season pass?

 
Wait are they cancelling the season pass DLC content?  Or is that still something coming out, and you also get a free game?  I'm pretty confused.  

This is pretty cool of Ubisoft, basically giving away a free game as an apology to the hardcore fans who bought the gold/season pass.  That said, I don't understand at all those people who are rushing out to buy season passes just to get the free game.  FC4 is an AWESOME game (playing it right now) but if you haven't already bought it, why are you paying $30 to buy it?  It'll be $30 on its own in a month.

Its unclear yet about the in game items.

They're not cancelling the two big pieces of the season pass. Dead Kings and AC Chronicles China (standalone game). Both will still be free to season pass owners + you get this free game.

It breaks down like this:

I own the vanilla game of Unity what do I get? You get the Dead Kings DLC free once its released.

I own the Gold edition of Unity or I own the vanilla game and purchased the season pass, what do I get? You get the Dead Kings DLC, AC Chronicles China, AND this free game.
