:ps3: disc = indestructible.
Not sure if I would go that far, but they are pretty resilient. In all the times I have bought used games from Gamefly and Gamestop or rented from Blockbuster or Gamefly I have only had 1 disk that wouldn't play. It was from Blockbuster. With their excuse for an envelope I am surprised that any of the games worked. I can not believe that many Wii or 360 games survive. I had one game from Gamefly that got deep into the game and then would not work

Actually, I should say 3 games. The 3rd was from Blockbuster as well. It was a copy of Saint's Row 3. It was split from the middle of the disk out to the edge. It goes without saying that I did not attempt to see if it would work in my PS3 :)
Yeah of course I was exaggerating a bit. But seriously, I fail to understand how it's possible to mess up a PS3 disk. I mean you'd have to seriously try to do damage to the thing. The way some people take care of their stuff makes me cringe. :cold:

Well I was going to buy Halo 4 yesterday on my mobile but the supervisor came in right before I placed the order so I had to put my phone down....when I remembered to pick it up again it was OOS.

I did end up purchasing Hitman: Absolution today for Xbox 360 since it was only $10 and looks entertaining.

Wow. Am I stupid. I saw Dishonored in stock last night and bought it. This morning I was checking it to see if there were any updates and realized I had used an old address to ship to. I thought I had changed the shipping address to my new one (I have ordered 6-7 times at this new address over the past 1.5 years), but I guess not.

Sent them a couple emails. Hopefully it can be fixed before it ships.
Good luck with that. One time I had that happen to me with Gamefly, and all they would do was cancel the order.
Same exact thing happened with me yesterday. Missed out on Sleeping Dogs because of forgetting to update my address/card info.

So I've been refreshing the page all day off and on, and still missed the restock on :ps3: Sleeping Dogs. :bomb:
They sent me an email back saying they could not change the shipping address once the order is placed. About 30 minutes after that, I got an email saying the game was shipped.

I went on USPS's website and filled out a Hold Mail form and a Change of Address form for my old address. Hopefully the game will get held at the post office and I can run in and pick it up or it will be forwarded to my new address. I live <10 minutes from my old apartment. I guess if all else fails, I can go knocking on the door and hope someone is home (I live in a college town, so it is empty in the summer).

Man, good luck. That sounds like a ton of hassle.

Lollipop Chainsaw refuses to restock, despite them having enough stock for it to be immediately available for rental. Darn it. I missed that it was on sale for $10 when the sale first went live and I wouldn't mind giving it a try for that price.

I'd been planning to wait on releases for Dishonored and Sleeping Dogs that include all the DLC. Is that worth it or should I just pick up the existing versions now?

It's unclear whether that will ever be the case with Sleeping Dogs (Dishonored is a better bet), but Sleeping Dogs' DLC is not really essential. Good, but not essential.

Dishonored is such a good game, so waiting for a full version with all the DLC is essential for me.

Damn, Max Payne 360 is out:(  And I missed the newegg sale the other day.  Oh well, looks like it hits that 10$ price fairly regularly.

This sale is making me upset. Halo4 and AC3 both require you to have them out on rental to purchase for the sale price. Thats complete crap. The only way to get half these deals is to overpay for their shitty rental service that takes 3 weeks to ship you a game otherwise you have to pay $40 for Halo or AC3. Anyone else seeing this or am I just crazy?

Hmmm...Dishonored, Hitman, Sleeping Dogs, or Future Soldier? Going to get two. Any suggestions?
Get Hitman and FS first because they're $9.99. Then get the other 2 next sale when they drop to $9.99. Then you'll have it all and you save some money!
Not all games drop to $9.99. If they sell out before at a higher price than they wont ever drop any lower.

They sold out. Chill. They may restock in the coming days but you can be sure they'll sell out quickly again if you don't watch them like a hawk.

Just have to add, Gamefly is actually a pretty good service on its own. I had it for a couple months and was happy with it, but I couldn't justify paying for rentals with my backlog the way it is.

that just means they sold out the amount they allotted for the sale. it's not like they only put aside a handful either, most games last quite a few hours. if you find out about the sale a day or two in and you're a member, you can rent and then "keep" at the sale price, that's just a membership perk and not some conspiracy to get you to pay for their service.

Yeah, I canceled GF rentals five years ago when the rental games would sit there unplayed, but I also rarely got my top choices from my queue and the shipping turnaround took >7days quite a lot, maybe they are better now that they have more distribution ctrs.  But I absolutely love them for their fantastic sales, nobody seems to be able to beat their used prices and quality, plus hey, FREE shipping.

For the upset dude, like a lot of CAG deals these days, if you don't jump on them, they go OOS very quickly, that goes for almost everything you see on this site.  So while you shouldn't hesitate, make sure you question yourself if you're buying because you actually want the game or just so you don't lose out.  Once or twice I did the latter and regretted it.

I usually dont have gamefly but for the past two months I only had to pay $22 for 2 months 2 out at a time which seemed like a deal to me. Basically the point I was getting to is when Im done I ship out the game lets say monday, tuesday it updates to show that they received it and by tuesday evening they ship the next one. Im impressed at how quickly they receive and ship a game back to you. 5 years ago they would take like an entire week.

Then you are a lucky one who lives either really close (likely same city) to a distribution center, or your local post office has one of the machines that can trigger a fast return in their system. If it was the latter, you would be able to tell by your status showing you had 3 or even 4 games out at a time when on a 2 game plan. That would always be a fast return. If it always only shows 2 games then it is actually getting back to them in the one day.

If it happens to be fast return, just do not make the mistake of sending both games back on the same day. From personal and friend's experiences that seems to cause havoc with the fast return process.

I do think they have a great service, I just can not justify it now since the backlog got pretty deep with PS Plus and other games I got for cheap. I have another gift card waiting for 2 more months as soon as I get the backlog in order.

I've had Gamefly service for 2 years now and I've always gotten my games within 2-3 days of shipment.

I guess im the latter. At this moment it says I have 4 games out on a 2 at a time plan. Is this a new process being added to postal offices?

EDIT: I should add all 5 times I have returned the games I have always sent them out together and it seems to be fine.

It is a certain type of sorting machine that scans the label and knows that you sent back a particular game. It sends that information to Gamefly so they can go ahead and send the next one in your queue. They certainly are not everywhere, but I would assume they are becoming more prevalent.

You are the first person who I have ever known that did not get issues with getting disks as fast if they sent 2 back on the same day.

Was able to grab :ps3: Hitman Absolution earlier today.

Also got home to my first package of Halo 4 which was pristine and probably never rented. and PlayStation All Stars which had the disc benefits already registered :bomb:

That shouldn't come as much of a surprise considering all their used games are previous rentals that have probably been in many hands.

I just seen Halo 4 back in stock Go Go!
Silent hill and Aliens also in stock for xbox

It wasn't, but I knew during that last sale there were decent reports of it still working. But I wasn't surprised, just hoping for it.
