Looking for a PCI (not -E) video card

I'm upgrading a Dell desktop that doesn't have AGP or PCI-e slots. Any recommendations for PCI video cards? I'm looking at the Radeon 9250 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814103167 and Radeon X1300 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814103016 , both with...

    Boosting WiFi signal?

The building I moved into has free wifi for tenants. The thing is, I can only get a decent (20-60%) signal in the bathroom, which isn't really ideal. Even one step out of the bathroom makes the signal too weak to be useful. Is there a way I can boost the signal on my end, or just have it relayed...

Buy a DS now or wait?

I'm not counting on a price drop anytime soon, but is it worth waiting to see if there are any end of the year deals (like free accessories)?

Does Live work with Internet Connecting Sharing?

When I connect two PCs with an ethernet cable, they can both use a single internet connection. Would this work with a 360? I guess this would be only useful if you're trying to share a WiFi connection... or possibly, dial-up.

    Shopping in NYC Chinatown?

I'm going to the city to visit Chinatown after a long absence, can anyone suggest what I should check out, game-wise? I assume J&L and the Elizabeth Mall are still around. I particularly want to pick up some classic GBA games, or barring that, a GBA flash cart.

    EBs switching to GameStops?

Someone told me that the Manhattan Mall EB has changed to a GameStop. Is this happening (has this happened) everywhere? How does this affect preorders and Edge card balances?

    PS2 display problem?

I have a non-slim PS2 hooked up to my TV with the standard composite AV cables. The picture in the top left and right corners is "pinched". It curves in and there's a couple inches of black space. This doesn't happen when I connect a DVD or VCR into the same ports. I think my PS2 is fine...

    Creative MuVo 128 MB MP3 player, $19.95 @ Staples

http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StaplesProductDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&productId=142371&cmArea=SEARCH That Staples.com description might be wrong; I dunno if it really has FM or recording capabilities. It also has no random/shuffle option, IICR. Still...

    Morrowind or Rise of Nations?

Heh, kind of an odd question, but I'm going through all the older PC games I'd missed. Morrowind is $20 and RON is $30 at Best Buy (both come with their expansions). Any preferences?

    FS: Xbox 360 Pre-order. NYC

I have a confirmed first-shipment pre-order at the EB Games in Rockefeller Center, Manhattan. It is the $399 version, and I have already put down $108 (and some cents). (I was told I could switch to the $299 version if I wanted to.) This deal has to take place in-store, during or just after the...

    Keep my pre-order?

I have $90 down on my preorder at EB, I was one of the first to preorder, so I'm basically guaranteed a system. A bunch of my stuff got wiped out because of storm damage, so that drained my 360 fund. Even with this week's paycheck (minus expenses) I won't be able to afford it. What should I do...

    Independent game shops in Manhattan

Does anyone know if Games & James, Game Express, and 32nd Street Games are still in business anywhere? They always had good markdowns on older games, and 32nd St. Games always had the best prices on new releases. All the Chinatown shops are still around, I guess. But their prices are nothing to...

My mom spent $700 on a Wega (and accessories)! Did she get ripped off?

Against my advice, and kinda behind my back, my mom ordered the following from a local electronics store: 32" Sony Wega CRT (non-HD, I believe) - $430 (I think this is the one...

I saw the print ads for it, but is there a website up? They're giving away one a day for a month, IICR.

Are USB chargers safe to use?

Is it safe to charge your PSP using a USB port? Someone told me this should be avoided, since the USB+power cables sold for the PSP are of low quality, and could easily end in a power surge that wrecks both the PSP and your PC. Any truth to that?

    Cheap USB cable?

The cheapest I've seen are the $10 ones they sell at EB. Are there any cheaper A-to-B, 2.0 cables? Unfortunately, I can't buy online 'cause they took away my credit card... :(

    Half Life 1 questions

I'm trying to run HL1, but I get a message saying it may not run under Windows XP. And when I try to start a game, I keep getting a "please insert CD" message (it's in, and the DVD-ROM's drivers are updated). I have version 1.0.0.5 Should the 1.1.1.0 patch...
