My local Best Buy had 4 instock on Sunday.  I held it in my hands and contemplated giving into the Day One's warm MSRP embrace... but I held firm and put it down.

That's really the problem with all "collectibles" I have a Target across the street from my office. And every morning I see the same group of "collectors" rush the doors at 8am to pick through the new re-stock. That bugs me, because a kid like my son has less of a chance to find a cool variant...

Skiizim, i'll be at SDCC this year and i'll pick one up for you if i come across one. I remember one of the resellers having all 4 for $200. I regret not getting them all. Although, I did score I Bizarro :)

I woud have gone for one of the big $199 sets, which is probably the reason why they excluded those :)

So the wife wants me to set up a build area and get more organized or she's cutting the lego budget for my son and I. What are you guys doing in terms of build-space, part storage and display?

It usually means they won't be receiving any new stock of that product. Have you tried scanning them? Sometimes they will show the full retail price, but will scan at clearance. Happened to me with a Batcave. Good luck!

My kids attend the monthly Lego store events. And it's amazing how many parents are banking on Lego sets to pay for their kids college. Kinda feels like the comic book "investing" crazy of the late 90's.

With all this Wal-Mart talk I decided to stop by my local store and found some Marvel sets marked down. The Wolverine set was $12.
