Yeah, I raided the Blockbuster and Rogers at Oak and 16th last week. I found 8 qualifying titles for $10-15 but only bought 6. :D

I think craigslist has been cleared out as well.

I believe the next deal (that is starting on the 13th) is gonna be another trade 3 for 1 game deal. I have no real proof of this, but it would be the next logical step for eb to add to their "biggest sale ever". At first I was hoping it would be a trade in deal for the wii, but lets face it eb game has no reason to clear wii stock as that happens on its own accord.
 
I did hear about 20% off games priced $19.99 and below. Dunno if that's with Edge card or not... because 30% off $20 games would be pretty hot.

According to the post by gamer602 on RFD, the sale might include Wii consoles. Trade 10 games and get it for $20 but it's not confirmed yet.

I've been racking my brain all week trying to think of something nice for my mom for Mothers Day. It finally came to me while in the EB games...a pink DS Lite. I've been wanting to buy her one since I bought mine but couldn't think of a way to pay $150+tax. Thanks to all your posts about the games worth $8 I was able to put together some games that put me at the $120 mark. I happily paid the extra $30 and another $38 for Club House games. Now, I've got a really great gift for my mom :D

It could happen, Eb doesnt really get 280$ for a wii. They had to buy it themselfs and they are not cheap. I doubt any company makes money off the wii, its all about the add ons.
 
Well they get 280$ from the customers... and it would not surprise me that they paid almost 280$ for it, as you say.

I do not see them getting rid of their Wii stock for used games...

Even with a Gamer's Edge 10% discount, it's a hell of a lot more profit they get compared to new consoles or brand new games. That's why they're constantly pushing used games, used systems, used anything on their customers.

And since they also sell used Wii games, if someone buys a new Wii, and if this person is casual enough, very possible, they would see saving 5 bucks on buying a used game over a new game to be worth it. Instant massive profit for them.

Games and similar electronics only provide so much when it comes to profit margins, razor thin margins actually (which everyone knows or at least should).
 
EB at Yorkdale denied the Wii bit of it all, but everything else was A-OK. It would be tough finding stock at any rate, and I have this feeling stores might deny the promotion regardless.

Thought I would just add that Kirby Canvas Curse is now only 19.99 @ eb games (with the red label). If you have a DS, you NEED to get this game. It only uses the touch screen and is mad fun. More DS games need to be like this one.

no it is not. And i doubt the system trade deal will last much longer. Once people start to abuse this 20% to buy games that trade for 8$ they will cancel it.
 
I need to renew my Edge card. Is that $2.50 thing still going on or do I have to suck it up and pay the full 5 bucks?

I would really like to have my cake (20% off) and eat it (2.50 renew) as well.
 
I heard there's going to be a new DSL (brighter screen, longer battery, more colours) and PSP (2GB mem. stick included, preloaded game/movie) coming out in the fall... maybe this is their way of getting rid of stock.

Got a white DSL on Friday at Richmond EBG... the clerk knew about the RV games. Total cost was $90.40... not as good as my first one, but still decent. =D
 
Hey well so many games are on sale, so I have a few here that I'm thinking of buying. Lots of them are from EB's flyer, some are from diff stores, but basically I eventually want all these games or at least try them but only want to spend between 40-50$ right now... 60$ is pushing it, but if the deals are REALLY good I'll probably do it. Ok, these are the games I've seen and am thinking of:

Halo 2 (Xbox) - 20$
Phoenix Wright - 20$
Kirby: Canvas Curse - 20$
Lego Star Wars II (Xbox 360) - 25$
Tomb Raider: Legend (Xbox 360) - 15$
Lost Magic (DS) - 10$

so which of those games do you guys think are GOOD deals and won't be selling at that price or maybe within a few dollars of it in the next few months? If any of these games will be similar in price within a couple months or so, I can just wait em out since I already have enough games to last me for a bit.

Ya I don't know if it's in the flyer though. I think someone said they just brought it down and it was at that price. I don't think you'd save more than like 2$ anyway, though, since I saw it for 35$ at Superstore.

Hmm but which games there are the best lol, I want to go out tomorrow and get all this stuff xD

Ummmmm by the way, do you think Tomb raider legend and LSW:II for 360 will be around those price ranges sometime again? Within a long period of time, even.

Ya and I usually go for the 2 bucks off too lol, its just for something like this where there's no easy, concrete evidence that the games being sold for that price, it usually takes too long to stand there and wait for them to phone around xD

I bought both Phoenix Wright and Kirby Canvas Curse for 20 bucks each a few days ago. Both are great games. PW is worth it since its not easy to find in stores anymore (#2 is, but that one is still 40 bucks). And I haven't seen Canvas Curse for less than 50 (even went to superstore yesterday, and I didn't see it there). Canvas Curse only uses the touchscreen so that right there justifies the purchase (although its tons of fun too).

Edit: I'm gonna have to look into this Lost Magic thing though, that game looks pretty cool (especially for 10 bucks).
 
Lego SWII is worth the $24 for the amount of fun you can get out of it. It's a great stress reliever :) One of the most fun Co-Op games out there.

There is a Wii version of the game coming out around Christmas time that will have Lego Star Wars I and II. Lego Star Wars I didn't have Widescreen support and Progressive scan. I'm hoping the Wii version will add it.

Maybe I'll wait out on LSWII since I think it's supposed to be Platinum Hits soon...but I could also PM at FS and get it for like 21$ though...hmmm...don't really feel like spending 90$ without tax on game though right now lol.

If you could pick any 3 games there that are the BEST deal right now and are fun to play, which 3 would you pick? (Besides Lost Magic.)

Oh and btw, I saw Lost Magic at Superstore for 10$ cause they have that deal going on with some 18.93 games for 10 bucks. There were 2 copies available...and besides that all I saw was some poker/casino games, couple copies of Rayman DS, and Tak: Great juju challenge for DS. Oh and Scooby Doo too...

Spades, get Phoenix Wright, Kirby, and Halo 2.
 
I got Pokemans (Pearl), though I'm not liking it as much as I did Ru/Sa. The main game is too long and immediatley available monster list is gimped to all hell. Though if it's anything like previous mans, which it is I'm sure, the stuff you do after the game will be ace.

And PW definitely. Then get the second one, Justice For All.
