aw gee... now im the third person asking for a clan invite... i think i ended up bringing those other ppl here because someone posted a link to the clan thread in the new circuit city thread. =P oh well. invite me please. SAGExSDX

hrm well... im going to stop using my friend's account and start using my account i just created. Asianstyle -=> SAGExSDX

I haven't read many of the CAG Halo 2 topics, but I don't know if you guys heard of this. The other night I ran into a group that was using a cheap tactic on Coagulation CTF. It involved a warthog in the lower level and some guy ontop of the gun on the warthog jumping up just below the flag and grabbing it through the floor of the base. By the time I realized this they had scored 3 times. Might be of use to some of you to test it out. Let the cheapness spread. ;)

Anyway, my gamertag is Gai Daigoshi. Pronounced Guy Die-go-she. Its from an anime Nadesico. I spelt the real name wrong but stuck with this one. If you want you can add me to the CAG clan.

Yep, we know about it, but thanks. It's a glitch that I personally would like to see fixed.
45 minutes I had to wait to piss...
We all have to sacrifice things for the clan, ryan.

This time, it was almost your bladder. :D
my personal highlight of the night involved sticking a flag-carrying murc on the zanzibar beach stairs with an impossibly accurate plasma grenade throw that weaved between his escorts and nailed him on the back from a good fifty feet away. they still won the match, and likely no one saw it, but i assure you it was sweet.

great games tonight guys.
I saw the after-effects of it, since I was on the heels of murc and saw him disappear into the ruins on the edge of the beach, finding his body when I made it into the room and the flag waiting there for someone to pick it up.

We ended up holding it for about 30 seconds before the sheer numbers of the other team flushed us out and ran off with the flag.

You made them work for the win in that round, rock, good job.

I thought the team captain method worked well. It produced pretty even teams IMO. As long as the captains are knowledgable of their team mates skills and abilities, it should be a pretty fair method.
People who don't show for practice regularly (me) or new members should expect to get picked last.
No hurt feelings here, although it did take me back to my husky size days of being the last to be picked for wiffle ball on the playground.

Yeah. Occasionally it produces teams that are too even, as evidenced by the game that almost cost ryan his bladder.

It was effective endurance training. I think my bladder has a greater holding capacity after last night which will come in handy in future matches.

Did you hold it long enough that your sides started to hurt? If not then hold it longer next time. Feel the burn.

I gave out before the burn set in, but I'm gonna stretch before practice next time. Hopefully a good warm up will help me go the distance with the rest of the team.

Last night was fun and all but playing for 35 mins in a assault on headlong and only being down by 1 my entire team, minus 2 guys goes down into the stairwell and plays Mr. Teabag for the whole round, definitely not cool, we had a chance and I thought it was really fucking lame.

Damn enjoyable games last night. The marathon Burial Mounds game was a load of fun (for everyone except Ryan).

I learned that Murcielago knows his way around a Rocket Launcher. There was a period in one of the matches where it seemed a rocket was coming my way every 15 seconds or so.

That was one heck of a good game. Especially with a single grenade shot that took out the oncoming 'Hog in one push on the base, as well as taking down the 'Hog as it was charging at me and blew up right in my face.

I'd like to do that game again, without the subsequent bladder pressure issue. :D

ill assume that was you in the turret then. I mean if i go for that thing every round and hit you with it within seconds, why do you stay there anyways?

Yea we all know about this, I have been pulling it off a bit lately also, once i figured it out. Also there is also a tactic to get a wartog in the building on headlong, which most of you have seen if you played yesterday
Also there is also a tactic to get a wartog in the building on headlong, which most of you have seen if you played yesterday
I remember cutting the corner into the building near the rocket launcher spawn and seeing the hog. I was never so glad to see a teammate in the gunner seat.

Ah, who cares if its geeky......it's a proven method and its kinda fun.

At the beginning of the games, we elect two team captains and those two pick their team one by one like playing basketball as kids....that way the better players are evenly dispersed....then at the beginning of each match the Alpha decides which way to go and the bravo does the other.

If someone could make a list of the game types and maps, then we could make a A and B routes for each and then the team captains can just go those proven ways and we could be more effective.
Believe me. It will never work. Maybe if we were a hardcore clan, but we are full of casual players. They won't remember routes let alone their call numbers or team name.
i think zewone has a good point - it would only be effective with all the more hardcore players, and they're rarely on together. if you wanna streamline it a bit somehow so that everyone can use the system without having to know exactly what's going on i think it would be easier to incorporate. another idea is changing our symbols to reflect what we're best at - we'd choose designated signs for offense, defense, sniping, vehicles, and maybe a couple others. maybe even a second background symbol for your second best skill. that way you immediately know what to expect of someone nearby you - will they go back on defense? will they grab the sniper rifle? anyhow, just throwing another idea into the mix.
We really need to practise running routes with the more "always on every damn night" Who stays on D, who moves the left side, who snipes and so on. Why? Because winning is good and losing sucks.

I will admit that you got me a couple of times in the turret. I tend to be a bit pig-headed about these sorts of things, and I wanted to see if you could replicate the shot with accuracy, and if I could counter it. Turns out that the answers to those questions would be "yes" and "no." Lessons learned.

Actually, I was speaking about some other shots that you made. One (from my perspective) hit me square in the "face" while in mid-jump. I thought it was damn impressive, thus the reason for my original post.

how did you get five suicides on that game led?

I asked myself the same question. That's the price of getting that many kills. Ocasionally I eat one of my own nades.

Those should be classified as kamikaze. Run into the base, and nade my own feet.

Anything for the production.

rocksolidaudio,

i meant to ask you about our early games on zanzibar (is that the one with the beach and gate?). you tk'ed me like four times. i know things get hectic while protecting the flag in close quarters but four times? definitely no hard feelings, but i almost hit that x button afterwards on accident...i hate that option because i tend to mash buttons after dying for some reason. does it auto boot someone after pressing x, or does it give you some kind of "are you sure?" message before it boots a player?

anyways, if we team up again, i'll stay crouched down and you shoot over me.

It auto boots them once you hit the x button.

It does autoboot, and do not do it to rocksolid. He didn't do it on purpose. I got betrayed twice yesterday by "The Ender" Big deal, shit happens.

i was on last night and rocksolidaudio kept sending me messages but the room was always full.

oh well meanwhile i got to level 13 in team slayer.

I agree, happens all the time. If there's a lot of people in the room its easy to hit somone on your own team. I ended up killing mooky four times in a game of king of the hill with shotguns yesterday by mistake.

Only do it if you want to autoboot yourself out of the clan.

hmm, i don't really know what happened to be honest, sorry about that. i often get the rocket launcher in that level, and i'm also of the school of thought "protect the flag at all costs, including your teammates lives". so when two enemies are running at the flag with my teammates close behind, if i know i can take them both out with maybe an extra casualty i'll do it. or if a warthog comes in the base i'll grenade it like a madman, and often people go nearby to jack it. i know those don't sound like the nicest tactics but i usually have a ton of carrier kills at the end of the round. but yeah, sorry it happened to you four times, that's excessive. if it makes you feel any better, by the fourth time i had a 30-second respawn time :D thanks for not booting me heh

everyone can settle down, i'm not complaining and i would never boot anyone for something accidental like that. i guess i was fishing for something that I could do different to avoid getting in people's way other than hiding in a corner while everyone does the work.

i repeat i would boot no one.

Playing team slayer a couple of nights ago I had a double kill all set up on the top floor of Ivory Tower with the Rocket Launcher. i shot my rocket and than a teamate gets off the lift and walks right into the rocket with another teamate right behind him. So my double kill turned into a double team kill. Any game that has friendly fire enabled will have a few team kills
