Super Street Fighter IV - Arcade Edition DLC Out Now & Retail Disc Out Now!
i used to have it bookmarked but i deleted that bookmark list becuase of all the porn, but anyway on this one site they had pictures of people who disconnected from matches. it was pretty funny becuase there were all sorts of ownage moments right as the guy/connection terminated.
you mean this site?

I joined a group of 7 other CAGs for a bunch of Endless Battle matches and had a great time. I actually did fairly well at points. I even tried 1 more ranked match, and won. :)
lol i'm watching GuardianE9999 vs Shinobi Hanzo in the alpha channel right now :) Did that happen by luck, or because its in my recently watched or something since we were in the same lobby?
I was on tv? Woo-hoo! I had to take a day off video games yesterday as I could barely function at work on Thurs., thanks to staying on SSFIV way too late the night before.

I should be on around 11 pm EST tonight for those CAG's that are arournd then.

Someone got his copy of Super Street Fighter IV from Amazon today! And my tag is under the CAG Fighter IV friends list.

Is it odd that they didn't sync the voices for English? I know they have the Japanese audio in there, but still.

Yeah i noticed the voices didnt line up. In one match between Balrog and Chun li, Chun li called him Bison with the japanese voice over. Which was kind of cool. It was the only thing i could understand. lol

The only thing I don't like about that site is what if the person disconnected and didn't want to. We have had high winds today and lost power. Im glad when I was transfering stuff from one HDD to the new one it didn't happen. My thing is what if it happens then and someone puts me on that site. Usually when I lose my connection when I get it back I send a message telling them what happend and see if they want another match but that would suck to get put on that site and people not want to play because my power or internet goes out.

Anyway I should get this game tomorrow from amazon. Atleast I hope I do so I will be on playing. Just send me a message gamer tag is shazo.

I would've won that last match if the game correctly registered that QCF instead of FDF. I'm kinda surprised I actually hung in there against you guys. Well, not when I was Ryu, though. I had no idea what I was doing. Not a clue.

I'm watching some Replay Channel stuff, some interesting fights to be seen for sure. I just wish I could put 2 fighters into a search and it'd filter out those matches for me.

Oh, and T-Hawk has so much range it's ridiculously unfair.

Yeah it was fun playing with everyone last night.

Ive been winning more games today.... maybe cos the kids are not in bed like last night LOL. Won 4 in a row. Kind of feel like a noob cos i use Ryu all the time, but he is the only character i know his moves well.

What i dont understand is the little film reel circle thing. It seems like every win it gets more color to it? What does that mean?

Cool i was able to upload my first replay after my Ryu beat a Juri. It was a pretty good match too. :)

Check page 24 of the manual. Pretty much you need to keep beating people in your battle class to keep leveling up the replay icon.

If you win the battle when u reach the "replay upload match" you choose whether or not you upload the replay of the game to the Replay Channel. I think it works both ways,so if you beat someone with it you get to pick as well.

No sweat man, I know I missed an Ultra setup earlier that cost me a match - it happens. You had a pretty good Cammy though.

Oh and T. Hawk's range is only ridiculous if you're playing against him .

Got this from http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2010/apr/28/release-schedule-super-street-fighter-4s-alt-costumes/

Its gona take forever for these to go on sale if they release them that slow in the states. I don't know if i want to keep my classic pack or not.

Release schedule for Super Street Fighter 4 alt. costumes

Jhones sent over the release schedule for the Japanese version of Super Street Fighter 4's alternative costume packs. The dates for other countries should be pretty close to the ones below though.

Right now, the Super Classic Pack is available for those who pre-order the game and the Super Challengers Pack 1 was just released. The alternative costumes can be downloaded for $3.99 on the PlayStation 3 and 320 Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360.
• Available in pre-order: Super Classic Pack (Guile, Blanka, Dhalsim, Gen, Fei Long)

• Now available: Super Challengers Pack 1 (Hakan, Makoto, Guy, Dudley, Dee Jay)

• May 11: Super Shoryuken Pack (Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Gouken, Dan)

• May 25: Super Beauty Pack (Chun-Li, C. Viper, Sakura, Rose, Cammy)

• June 8: Super Challengers Pack 2 (Juri, Ibuki, Cody, Adon, T. Hawk)

• June 15: Super Brawlers Pack (Zangief, E. Honda, Rufus, Abel, El Fuerte)

• June 22: Super Shadaloo Pack (Vega, Sagat, Balrog, M. Bison, Seth)

• June 29: Super Classic Pack (Guile, Blanka, Dhalsim, Gen, Fei Long)

• July 27: Super Complete Pack (All 35 costumes)

In case you missed it yesterday, you can check out screen shots of all 35 costumes here.

holy crap, fuck Capcom, the alternate color 12 where you're all scratchy is not only hard on the eyes but looks horrible. Is there any thing else you get/unlock for having the SFIV disc? I'd rather have a costume pack or bonus background/arena. boo...

still fun to play, but boo on Capcom.

I mainly want the Shadaloo Pack, and Beauty Pack. The rest are okay but the ones i like are on people i never use. Using Cowboy Ken would be fun though lol. Too bad they release every other week. I am still missing one DLC pack from the first game, but dunno if ill ever buy it. Wonder how much all 35 cotumes will cost, since its two more pack than last year. I already got the Classic pack free from amazon.

Yeah, I'm debating whether to buy the packs individually or wait 2 months (!) to get the all-in-one pack. That's quite a long time.

So the only reason to hang onto SFIV outside of sentimental value is that SSFIV checks for a saved game and gives you some crappy outfits, right? Otherwise I can sell it off or whatever?

It doesn't even give you outfits. It gives you two color "filters": one inkbrush inspired like in SFIV and one pencil-sketch inspired like SSFIV, labeled colors 11 and 12 respectively.

It only unlocks these if it detects a SFIV save. You don't even need to have the game currently.

gamestop didn't have any sealed copies lame ass crap.. there's no code thing in it or is it on the manual? or was it a pre-order bonus?
You do have access to the DLC costumes from SF4 if you already bought them. Me, I like color 12.
I like the inky 11 color, but it only looks cool on certain levels where it's dark otherwise your character kinda looks out of place. The brushed 12 color filter is really just distracting imo and looks more like your tv is on the fritz.

I'd wait for all the costumes to come out, you'd probably end up saving like $10 bucks. I'm just going to wait, since Capcom already has my money again.

the preorder bonus you get from Amazon, was a XBL code emailed to you. I could essentially just sell the code to someone.

I can't play until tomorrow. My right forearm is hurting because I've been playing this all day. I'm getting Fighter's arm or something. I lost a mirror match tonight, and it was close. I really am going to have to re-learn the inputs for this game because it seems whenever I want QCF, 75% of the time it comes out wrong. Also, pay attention to your opponent's Ultra Meter. Don't go in for a Focused Attack like I did -_-

I think Cammy's CQC would be really effective against Balrog, although not much else.

Just had a few more good matches. One was Ryu vs Ryu and i won the first match, he won the 2nd match, and the 3rd match came down to the wire where i through him with a sliver of life left to win. it was awesome, and i was able to upload it as a replay. I did fight against a seth, wow is he cheap?? I was blocking high and he was still able to do that damn kick move to me. I dont understand how he did it since i was blocking the whole time. Still its starting to be lots of fun to play online. I just need to learn a new character other than ryu.

even though i got my ass kicked and never won a match and barely was even able to win a round i still had fun. i loved endless battle.( i had to use it becuase the game couldnt god damn find a match for 30 minutes in quickmatch... not quick at all)

this one guy was using chun-li and was AAA worthy in like every match. she dodge like everyone's super/ultra/special attack with no problems and then proceeded to use hers in the process. i only won a round at all was becuase he kept do the same move over and over toying with me and i just played through it and won.. let me tell you he didn't do the toying in the second/third round and was pulling off AEA rating left and right (the e being defense)

why the god damn hell do i always use electricity when playing as blanka. every damn button combo i press i find him doing it and i cant do anything else.

I'd love to play in a group so that i wont get mad/bored/or depressed at my 0 stats

I will never ever get a win in this game (competitively)
I just need to learn a new character other than ryu.
you can always branch out from Ryu > Ken > Akuma > Dan > Sakura (not in that order but close enough) They all generally have similar special moves and play closely like the next. Gouken plays really differently from these guys, but he's not too far off. there's also Sagat with fireball and uppercut moves.

In total agreement here. Really hate color 12 to the point that I would have rather had a bonus that lets me disable it entirely so I don't have to look at it when other people choose it. That scratchy look is just too damn distracting.

Man, I ran into this wicked Ibuki player last night. His name was Methia, or something like that. Handed my ass to me every time. One of the few times I felt like I had zero chance of winning.

Instead of emailing me 10 dollar code on my next video game purchase, Amazon has sent me a code for 50% of video game magazine? Did anyone else receive this after buying SSF4?

This really sucks... Is there anything I can do to get the 10 dollar off code for my next video game purchase. There is no use for 50% code for video game magazines in my opinion. :(

It would definitely stop some of his straight rush pressure but any of his armor break moves will beat it out.

I'm also curious if Balrog could super-cancel that move like he can with focused straight rushes or if the QCQ activates on first hit? I'd assume it's the latter or that move would be completely useless.

I've been able to land QCQ with Guile players who double sweep me.
Is this worth picking up and playing without a joystick?
Hmmm. I'd say yes. I didn't have a joystick when I first got SFIV, but I still really enjoyed the game.

However, that being said, I enjoyed the game a heckuva lot more when I got my TE stick. It rocks.

you'll never be great without a stick, considering some of the more advanced techniques and inputs basically require one, but you can still win and enjoy the game. Thats for sure
you'll never be great without a stick, considering some of the more advanced techniques and inputs basically require one, but you can still win and enjoy the game. Thats for sure
I wouldn't go that far, since there are tournament players that use pads (few and far between, I know), and all combos can be done on pad (though jump cancels seem harder). The majority of people will agree, however, that a pad cannot match the precision of a stick.

I plan on playing a ton tonight if there are any CAGs online! Tag: GuardianE9999

you absolutely cannot plink harder links on a pad unless you play with the two finger method, which know one I've ever seen uses. The vast majority of tournament level players use harder links where plinking really is a must.

So i would go that far

... did I not say that pad players are few and far between in tournament level? Sticks are better, there's no question really, but I wouldn't say you'll never be great if you practice enough. Though I suppose great is a largely subjective term. You just likely won't be high tournament level.

I know people who play pad piano style.

Not really, though the newest strat guide for the game lists them.

Biggest notable differences :
nerfed Sagat's Uppercut
nerfed Rufus's EX snake strike
dhalsim does more damage esp. with grabs
Bison's normals nerfed slightly
changed priority on Balrogs dashes (great improvement)

they did nerf Abel's Ultra Combo 1. Did way too much damage for something you can combo into that easily
The one change I'm looking for was if they nerfed Ultra combos down any? Ultra combos really pushed me away from SFIV, I'm pretty sure no one else had a problem with them, but I did, so I was wondering if they addressed it at all?
Ultras haven't really been toned down... in fact, there are even easier ways to juggle into Ultras for many of the characters. They remain a significant part of the game.

They did remove some of the cheesier ways to connect Ultras from SFIV, like Ryu after trading a Shoryuken. Rufus's and Sagat's have been toned down in damage, if I recall correctly.

That makes me sad. I got tired of playing online and watching people turtle and build up their revenge meter.

I will pass on SSFIV :(

I'm also probably in the minority when I say I thought the Ultra Combo system was a bad decision by Capcom in the first place. Why should you reward players who are getting beat down and punish the player delivering the beat down?

With the focus, charge, and super moves, there's more than enough ways for a player who is losing during the round to fight their way back.

then you use tick throws, block strings, or overheads.

turtle is the complete opposite of rush down, which "can" be equally annoying (cross-up attempt #4 in a row, oops, he grabbed that time)

it only gets annoying because you essentially play the game they want to play, which they have more experience with. Turtles only really get annoying when you constantly try to jump in at them, but continually get AA. I stopped trying to jump in on these people and just approach from the ground. The only time Ill actually jump at them is if they are getting up from a knockdown, or when im close enough to cross them up

I had good matches with KingBroly, TooLateforRoses, DimaBraun, & LostRoad last night (I think there was another in our group but I don't remember the GT). A lot of fun in Endless battle (TooLate & I tried out a lot of the new characters) and I got to face Dima's crazy cross-up Blanka. I hope to catch more CAG's on tonight around 11 pm EST.

Where were you last night, Guard? I was ready to punish that scrubby Ken of yours with my righteous Cammy, haha (or in other words, I was ready for the 0-10 whupping from your Ken).

Bah, I was working late last night, and then went out for a movie... I was thinking of SSFIV the whole time.

I was experimenting with a lot of new characters on wednesday. I totally agree with bs000 that we should have a new character only set. 11pm's so late to get started! I'll probably be on anyways though.

They seem to have made a bunch of improvements to Cammy. Despite her CQC that is essentially worthless save for a few situations, her normals seems stronger. I know they nerfed her Cannon Spike a bit, but I definitely think those boosts to her normals helped.
