Super Street Fighter IV - Arcade Edition DLC Out Now & Retail Disc Out Now!

Stoked on this. Add TooLateForRoses to play! Also, why is everyone fretting over the dlc code? i don't think I've ever gotten dlc promo codes from amazon until later in the week, others may get them earlier than others i suppose.
 
Played some last night.. definitely fun. Although it's cool to not have to unlock characters from the beginning.. it also makes me feel kinda empty. :[

Anyway, if any of you dare to challenge my Blanka, be afraid. :]

I'm a Blanka/Balrog/Dee Jay player and I'd like to challenge your Blanka sometime.

Played some on my lunch break today at work. I strictly played new characters T. Hawk is pretty beastly and Dee Jay is a LOT of fun. I also see a lot of potential with Juri & Dudley.

I was pretty disappointed with Hakan :whistle2:/

So guys... impressions? I haven't had the luxury of spending much time with it due to unexpected errands, but I like it. I find it tedious the way we have to unlock taunts and colors, but it's better then going through challenges. I think Cody is pretty solid. I love Sakura's new ultra, I was playing around with it thinking of different shenanigans. Cody seems solid.

How do you pull one of those counter Ultra's off, anyway? It seems like a really stupid idea if you ask me. I've also heard Cammy's new Ultra does damage based off how much health you have left (the less you have, the more damage it does).

I don't know about Cammy, but for Hakan it's an anti-air move. He lays down and if the opponent has been jumping towards him they land on him and he does a crazy squeeze, crouching throw that looks TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE.

For Cammy and Fei it's worse than Hakan -- your opponent actually has to press a button while your Ultra startup frames are active for it to register. For Hakan, if they land on you, you get the ultra.

I have both and I love both (it was a very quick fall for SSFIV), but it's really up to the individual. They're very different games, even though they're both Capcom fighting games. SSFIV is much slower and less over the top, but I think it is much more intense than Tatsunoko, but Tatsunoko is crazier than SSFIV, if that makes sense.

I actually slipped on him once when I was standing next to him. If you're smart enough it's easy to stay clear from these ultras... I'm wondering if you can use them to counter other ultras or supers.

From time to time I get some REALLY bad matches that are filled with lag. It's not that often though, but when it does it's really annoying.
 
I don't understand why it got laggy when we were playing MtlTom. It started off fine... then again, I just checked your location. =p

So far ive just been doing the trails. I got 18 done with Balrog, 17 done with Bison, Cody, Dee Jay, and Sagat. In SFIV the only ones i finished were Bison and Sakura. Hopefully i can finish more than two in SSFIV.
 
I got my DLC code from Amazon for the Super Classic Costume Pack.

I didn't get to play till late, but I played for a couple hours. I love the game, even though I suck. Using many continues, I beat Arcade Mode on Medium. I played and lost 10 ranked matches before giving up for the night since I had stuff to watch on my DVR.

I think my internet was a little spotty last night. It was fine most of the time but I was getting dropped towards the end of the night with TooLateForRoses & JayDub.

Regardless, GGs to everyone I played with last night. Endless battle is sooooo fun.

PS: Holy crap, bs000 was on fire last night.
 
lol i'm watching GuardianE9999 vs Shinobi Hanzo in the alpha channel right now :) Did that happen by luck, or because its in my recently watched or something since we were in the same lobby?

I think my connection ended up breaking things up earlier last night. For a good while, though, I didn't notice any real lag. Seemed pretty solid. Then, again, I was host, so that might not have been the same for you guys. :p

Hah, that's weird! I'm not sure how the upload/replay system actually works. I only had the option of uploading one match last night against a random ranked (both the circles were spinning red on the VS screen). It gave me the prompt after the match was over. I suspect they randomly take matches based on the characters selected and put them in the appropriate channel... but then I'm not sure why sometimes it asks if you want to upload and other times it doesn't (it never asked when I played against Shinobi).

I was watching the Turbo+third strike channel and after a few matches I saw Guardian vs Busta lol

Look forward to playing with you guys again. Can we have a new character only night? :p
 
i used to have it bookmarked but i deleted that bookmark list becuase of all the porn, but anyway on this one site they had pictures of people who disconnected from matches. it was pretty funny becuase there were all sorts of ownage moments right as the guy/connection terminated.

Does anyone know if the 2 for 1 trick for XBOX Live downloads will work with the AMAZON code for the extra costumes?

As in, can I do the initial download on a friend's machine, and still go home and download it on my own machine because the content is attached to my account?

BTW, I got my refund and Extra Costumes code this afternoon. Also, they gave me the $10.00 credit when they sent me the bill. Gotta love Amazon.
 
I finished M.Bisons trials. I have to say its not even worth it. The final icon you get is a flag. The first two are so much better than the final two IMO. They should have made the final icon the most badass one to unlock.

I finally played online today, still get a lot of "unable to connect to match" when trying to find a player to fight. When i did fight i went against ken, ken, cody, akuma. So it doesnt look like much has changed. Ill be fighting 75% of the time Ken, Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Sagat. LOL. If anyone wants to fight just send me an invite. Im still trying to remember everyones moves, so im not that good.

I've found far far fewer shotos out there actually. Are you doing Quick Match or Custom Match? Quick Match is broken, and has been since SFIV. I always do Custom Match and pick a random room to join.
