Target coupon- 5 dollars off 25 dollar purchase

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items, or raincheck "scams." Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Some info from BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include city, state, store, game, system and price. For example:
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
Super Soup Soufflé, Xbox 360, $4.98

Special thanks to Mephitical for this great tool for locating clearance titles which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance-- often games will not be tagged correctly. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Remember, the lowest known price will be posted since the listed item could be higher or lower at your store. Here are the current deals:

Checked last night and almost every mention was on the shelf EXCEPT FOR the game I wanted - Untold Legends for the PS3. Oh well...

I made a casual stop by my Target the other day and they didn't have much to offer, but when I passed by the PC section, they had a bunch of Guild Wars: Eye of the North games marked at $9.98 with that red sticker on them. I snagged me a copy. I was suprised to see the game at that price considering it's recent. Lucky me.

That's happened to me several times at a number of different Targets. This does appear to be their overall policy.

In some cases, they double-checked against the price gun (which does show it's in their system) --- then they sell to me at that price. In one extreme example, I walked away, but later on the clerk found me in the store (yes, he tracked me down) and said he could sell me the game for $2.48; this game was Freedom Fighters for PC.

Got lucky today and found copies of Ghost Squad at my Target today. Guy rang it up in electronics and it wasn't in the system, so he offered it to me for $15. I took it since it didn't seem like a bad deal, and I've been hunting for it, but was it worth it for that? I was almost debating on going back and trying to get someone to re-ring another copy lower and return the one I have.

lol keep it. $13 Vs $15 and the correct price is $29.99...you'll waste more than $2 in gas ....IF you're successful...

The ASIN search tool seems to be getting less and less useful. It used to work all the time, but I've had trouble getting a lot of items to work in the past months. Like a lot of Target clearance related items, it has become YMMV.

I have tried 2 different Targets for Ghost Squad on the first one they shot me down quick and pulled the last copies off the shelf. At the 2nd Target 2 people wanted to sell it to me for $10 and were trying to be helpful but some annoying lady who I guess was higher up than the other 2 heard what was going on and she started ranting and raving saying they couldnt sell it to me and the whole time she was glaring at me. The other 2 people tried saying if it was on the shelf they should go ahead and sell it to me but the other lady just kept yelling till they finally agreed with her and they pulled all the copies off the shelf.

Went to a Target up at school a few hours ago... And they had two copies of Ghost Squad. They weren't ringing up and so they called up the kid in electronics and he found the 29.99 sticker and radioed up that number. I am going to try and go back tomorrow and hopefully snag one copy for 12.46 or at the most 19.99.

She paused and frowned, staring at the game. She then took a look at my shirt that said "Friend of Sonic, CAG Target Clearance Thread IX OP" and said, "Wow, it's really you?" I glanced down at my shirt, surprised, and said, "Yes it is!" I then asked her user name on CAG.
She hesitated a bit. "David85," she confessed.
"Really?" I asked.
"Yeah, I was a bit of a homosexual," she giggled. "I think this game is 6.99. Does that sound good to you?"
"Yes!" I exclaimed.
As she updated the price in the register for me, another cashier came over, overhearing the conversation. "You're Friend of Sonic?!" he shouted, pushing over an endcap of glitter onto the magazines display in the process.
"Yeah, man!" I beamed. "Who are you on CAG?"
"Yukine! Hey David85, I hope you're giving this guy a good price!"
"You better believe it!" David85 replied, as she finished ringing the game up. After I paid with my credit card, the receipt printed and we all yelled, giving ourselves a three way high five. After the commotion settled down, we went to Food Avenue and helped ourselves to some fresh baked pretzels.

Long story short, I got Ghost Squad for 6.99 from a nice cashier that made up a price that must have popped into her head. I'm pretty happy.

Reminds me of a time at K-mart out of town some months back then I found a $19 clearanced game that came up out of system with no sticker. The old man said "Gosh, our manager is meeting with some guys from corporate today. How much do you think this game was suppose to ring up?"

I laughed and said "$1.50 sounds good"

He said ok and charged me as such. I'm pretty sure I didn't say another word the rest of the transaction out of fear he would remember he hates my generation and our "viggy games."
