This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items, or raincheck "scams." Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Some info from BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include city, state, store, game, system and price. For example:
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
Super Soup Soufflé, Xbox 360, $4.98

Special thanks to Mephitical for this great tool for locating clearance titles which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance-- often games will not be tagged correctly. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Remember, the lowest known price will be posted since the listed item could be higher or lower at your store. Here are the current deals:

My store used to have a crap load of the Daxter bundles then they disappeared one day. Now the only ones I see are the Piano Black console only ones.
 
Believe me, karkyco, the selection of clearance titles around here is mediocre at best. I was lucky enough to find ONE copy of Rome Total War Gold Edition for PC for $5. But, unless I somehow can stash copies of any future games I'd want when they hit clearance, I'm SOL on finding console titles when they drop to a good price.
 
IAmtheCheapestGamer, this was the post about the Daxter pack that I was thinking of.

By all means, go ahead and check it, but I'm with Snake in guessing that this'd be superincredibly YMMV. Good luck!
 
In my area the Daxter bundle is hard to come by, but so are all PSP packages since Christmas. But it has been regularly replenished throughout the holiday season, and is currently $199.99.

Its an target exclusive guitar that has an image of I think the british flag on the base and I'm not too sure of the DPCI but I'll look it up ASAP. Also trying to find an good image.

Assuming your online persona is not necessarily indicative of you manner in-person, are you going to the electronics counter to ring these up? If it's on an endcap, don't go to electronics; go to a normal, harried checker at the front of the store. When it doesn't ring up, play innocent and confused and casually mention what you thought the price should be and press it ever-so-gently. Either a manager will come and give you the price you quote or they will send you to the customer service desk to haggle some more. Either way, you'll do better than you would have at the electronics counter.

Saw Stuntman for 360 for $14.98. Not too great, but surprising for being at 75% off which games rarely reach at my Target before disappearing.

The Bigs for 360 was $29.99 - is that being seen on clearance elsewhere or just the PS3 version?

Nothing else of note on clearance...

I saw The Bigs and Godfather for the PS3 last week marked $29.99 in the clearance section last week. This week all games have vanished from the clearance section.

Got Cooking Mama (Wii) for $20 at the Altoona IA target, they had 2 more left.
They had a couple of the Tony Hawk game (360) for $15, but I didn't like the last couple TH games so I didn't bother. Had a bunch of other $10-30 stuff too, but it looked like mostly DS or GBA games.
 
Went to the Phoenix, AZ Target on Cactus and found 2 copies of Ghost Squad. Came up as "Item Not Found" and I got excited. Took it over to the kid and he scanned it and got a confused look on his face. Scanned it in with the hand scanner and still nothing. He called to the back and the guy said it was $29.99. Rats!

Also saw THPG for $29.99 still (scanned it too) and absolutely nothing else! No Bigs, no Guitars, no Stuntman, nada. I came away empty handed but I'm going to try another Target that is usually over looked and that I have had better luck with in the past. Ugh...

Yes! These are the stories that make me proud. I can't believe how easily some of you give up. Especially if you go to the main checkout, you can almost always get a manager to give you whatever price you quote on mispriced/out of system items.
 
heatseeker is actually pretty fun.

So it looks as those this Daxter thing was not true? I have yet to go back in fear that its a wasted trip.
 
Cleveland reports:

117th - no Ghost Recon, no Tony Hawk LE (don't be fooled, they have tons of the standard edition!), and 1 Def Leppard Guitar.

Steelyard - 1 Ghost Recon left (didn't scan, had manager ring it at $15), no Tony Hawk LE, no guitar, 1 Stuntman Ignition 360 tagged as $29.99.

Rocky River - No Ghost Recon, no Tony Hawk LE, 3 Bigs for $15 (ps3).

Well the problem that I had is, this particular Target had no red tagged video games anywhere. So the only thing I could do is point to where I found it which has a big sign saying, "$29.99." Kinda defeated the purpose of arguing since I had no leg to stand on.

The other Target that I mentioned has a TON of red tagged games that they leave out forever. No one usually snags them for whatever reason, and I look at it as my own personal clearance item rack.

Plus, I don't like arguing in stores because I've been there and I know what it feels like. I was just hoping that he would be cool enough to say, "How much do you want it for?" but no such luck.

I tried the manager at my Target but I still got shot down.
 
Are those guitars a big deal? My Target has like 4 left. They had about 43476 Tony Hawks too for $14.xx

I saw the Daxter bundle with no sign of it being on clearance.
 
Phillipsburg, NJ: Lots of Ghost Squad copies, all ring up as "info not available" but on the shelf it says it costs $29.99, so it might not work well.

Also, Lord of the Rings Online is back to $19.99, so the OP might want to fix that one.
 
Found VT3 360 today. They put a sticker over the barcode that scanned @ $19.99. I took the sticker off and it scanned "item not found". I took it to the express lane and the girl called the manager over who tried to give it to me for $19.99. I refused and then she asked me what I wanted to pay. I got it for $9.99. woot!

Congratulations on committing theft! Tampering with barcodes/pricetags is no different than shoplifting.

while you're at it why not find a $0.99 tag and stick it on there too?

LOL where did you study law? It's very different. I have a receipt... besides it should have been salvaged, they actually made out on the deal.

Actually, my brother was arrested many years ago for doing the same thing, so yeah, I know it's illegal. Justify how you want, but that sticker was put there by the company and therefore, it's there price. By tampering with it, you stole money from them.

Try going into a 7eleven and putting a .99 price tag on 9.99 item and see what happens. No different than what you did. I bet they won't be such pushovers.
 
Picked up Stuntman for $15 at the target in New Britain CT yesterday and Tony Hawk Proving Grounds LE for $15 in Newington. Both said $30 on the sticker and were last copies.

my target FINALLY clearenced the THPG: LE to 15 3 weeks after most started -_-

bought it and am dissapointed

thought about stuntman, one copy left, 15 >_>

Not cleranced its temporary price cut which means it'll only be good till the 21 atleast on the bioshock that is.
