Target coupon- 5 dollars off 25 dollar purchase

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items, or raincheck "scams." Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Some info from BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include city, state, store, game, system and price. For example:
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
Super Soup Soufflé, Xbox 360, $4.98

Special thanks to Mephitical for this great tool for locating clearance titles which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance-- often games will not be tagged correctly. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Remember, the lowest known price will be posted since the listed item could be higher or lower at your store. Here are the current deals:

Stopped by Target after class today and found the shelves devoid of most 360 and no clearance titles whatsoever. There was a wall with the Platinum Hits, but $30 is too much for my cheapass. Anyways, I spotted a DDR Universe 2 bundle for $20. She scanned it at $75 but changed it for me after realizing it was marked wrong. The UPC said it was DDR Universe for 360 (Not the 2nd), and when she scanned that rather than the one on the box, it asked what DS game she was scanning. Someone's weird error, luckily found by me.

Manager then calls someone to ask how much PS2 games go for, and then gives the name of the game to the person to check. She then asks me how much I thought it was, I said $7.99 again, and she said to ring it up. Apparently it was the last copy, so they had nothing in the back to get pricing from.

I find it really weird how their clearance system works sometimes, when the customer has to provide pricing! Shit, I might as well told them they owed ME money for taking it off their hands...

Virtua Tennis 3 PS3 for 19.99 on the endcap with the 19.99 PS2 games
Ghost Squad for 12.48...last one on the end cap...took it to the front and when the cashier scanned it for the 2nd time I asked "Is it not scanning?". She answered in the affirmative and I said it was on clearance for 12 something and she said "12?"...so I gave the common 12.48 answer. I probably could have gotten it for less but since it was item not found she apparently didn't care much.

This has been covered several times in the thread... The game is not technically on clearance but some people have been able to use the fact that rings up out of the system as a way to get the game really cheap. Some cashiers won't bother to check and will sell the game for half price or less.

Also, I thought I remembered pictures either here or at SD of someone who found it with the orange clearance stickers on it which is where the $12 price started. But the fact that it rings up as not in the system definitely helps!

Anytime a store lets you name your own price, I would hesitate to call it a "hassle." :lol:

Funny thing is, the guy that rang me up looked at the $9.98 sticker on TMNT 3 and said, "You know, this thing has been sitting there for a long time. Why don't we see if it's cheaper than $10?" When he scanned it, it came up for $4.98.

And I just bought The Bigs because I know that next-gen stuff doesn't last long at that Target on the clearance shelf. I don't own PS3 yet, but that didn't stop me from buying the other 5 games I own. I'm waiting for tax time and the arrival of the ceramic white model with a Dual Shock 3 to arrive on these shores...

Not to get too far off-topic, but I also bought a black Champion zip-up hoodie and a messenger bag for $4.98 each. Target is really coming correct with the cheap clothes. I've gotten 2 Merona blazers from there lately for $14.98 each down from $59.99, and these things don't look too shabby at the clubs. Hey, it's dark in there anyway...

Yeah, I really agree with you there. For the past 2-3 years, Target has had clothing that's actually good, i.e. clothing I would wear, especially through the Mossimo and Merona labels. Their Mossimo basic tees have the build and cut of high-quality tees that'd cost me $25-40 at boutiques but are only $10 MSRP and can be commonly found on clearance for $2.50! I have some basic tees from H&M and American Apparel, and I really can't see a difference from the Mossimo ones.

In the Target I go to most (there's like 6 in this town) they had about 4 of them 2-3 weeks ago when I picked it up (Richmond, VA), but went there earlier this past week and they had none left. It was 14.98 when I picked it up.

I was able to pick up Company of Heroes for the PC for $3.74. The really odd thing was the orange sticker mark down pricing. Normally they go through a bit of a standard drop amount but this one was original price $29.99, Clearance price $3.74.

Most of Targets will not drop a title below 75%.

However I have seen a Target with Stuntman (360) for cheaper. This was one that had updated the price to $29.99 prior to their clearance. It was marked $7.48 (roughly 75% of $30).

If the "original price" says $59.99 then $14.98 is the cheapest it will likely get.


On the rare occasion I have seen items marked at 80 or 85% clearance -- but aside from one GBA game once it was always on other merchandise.

Not really video game related but I picked up Scene It To Go "Marvel Edition" for $3.48. Pretty sweet deal so I picked up two.

Also saw Ghost Squad but I scanned it and "Item Not Found" popped up. I was in a hurry so I didn't try to buy it and coax a cashier that it was a clearance item.

Everything else was slim pickings.

I picked up a THPG 360 for $14.75, still not sure if I'm keeping it or gifting it...I Haven't played a TH game since #4 on the OG XBOX (oops, I mean SEXBOX). Worth keeping for $15? Keep in mind most of my time is on CoD4, LS:TCS, Halo, NHL08, Fifa, and Rock Band right now...not sure if I have the interest in starting this game when I still have Tony Hawk 4 sitting there that hasn't been played in 2 years...

Does anyone know what category furniture falls into on the clearance schedule? A few Targets around me have some of those gamer rocking chairs with speakers in the headrest. They've been sitting at 50% off for a while, but $25 is still too much for me. If furniture drops today or tomorrow though, it might be worth another trip for me to pick one up at 75% off.

About a dozen of those disappeared from my Target after being marked down to 50% off. A day or two later, there they were at Goodwill, marked back to $49.99. :\

Tony Hawk, Def Jam, & Stuntman were all salvaged at my Target at 75% off yesterday. There were 5+ copies of them each there on Sunday night, come monday at 8:00 am they were all gone.

They were supposed to be free if you pre ordered. Timeshift was 34.XX with some other PC titles.
