This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

Oh, I know - it wasn't directed at you but to fend off responses like those two above (even though I'm sure the second, at least, was a joke).

As for continued use of the (UN-modded) coupon, I've got no problem with that. If Target didn't want to accept them they could simply have made it expire when it was supposed to. If it displayed "Coupon expired" when the cashier scanned it, end of coupon... As long as it is good in the system then we can only assume they intend to keep accepting it. If the cashier has no problem with a copy and with the expiration date printed on it, then I see no problem with using it.

It's just too bad there is very little to use it on.

I don't know if it is because Target is a MN company, but I've noticed that 95% of the Target stores in the twin cities metro have absolutely nothing on clearance.

My Target never has the big markdown games in stock... except for today. I got real lucky when I was shopping and decided to check out the games. Picked up a copy of Heavenly Sword for 30 bucks. I've been wanting to give this a play for a while and 30 is the price I would pay.

You know on the end of the glass case isles where they have games for every console. Like The Darkness and other Platinum Hits, and Greatest Hits games. They got rid of them at mine and put GBA games in place of the PSP games. And the PSP games aren't even in the clearance area?? Anyone else have this happen at theirs??

No its just because your in a big metropolitan area so plenty of people get a shot at the clearance, they are well liked in the cities though so that does make things tougher. I've found great stuff at the Targets in the cities though, you just need to know where to look.

I bit on Heavenly Sword for $30. My store had 2 copies, one of which had a smashed case. The only other thing I found worthwhile was the 360 ESRB 3-pack for $15. I found out it's worth $22 total at Blockbuster, but I don't know if it's worth going back for.

What about that Wii rockstar Table Tennis? I didn't see a sticker on that, but is it on clearance? I see in the OP it was reported at $20.98 at the beginning of May, but is there a newer price? My Target still has that one in the case.

Used the coupon today on the Family 3 pack for my son. It was 20.98 at my location, so got it for about 12 bucks after tax @ coupon. Not bad for 3 kid friendly games on his favorite console.

Also snagged Heavenly Sword as its the last copy I could see in any of the 5 Targets close by. Used the 5 dollar off coupon and got it for 25. Still a bit higher than I would have liked, but there wasn't much of a chance it would be there much longer. I've played most of it on a rental, but really enjoyed it. I am an action whore, so will probably beat it 2-3 times and should get my money's worth on it.

Info will start to filter in around noon as the markdowns hit store shelves and CAGs get out into the stores (and the left coast actually gets a chance to wake up). This is one of the most active threads in the deals forum so you can be sure that as soon as CAGs get some info, it will show up here.

I won't be heading out until Lunch time so probably nothing from me until 2pm EST.

Which Targets are you checking? The downtown store has two shelves of just Scarface on clearance, and has another shelf of just 360/PS3 clearance. Nothing to exciting though unless you want Soldier of Forune for $29. The Quarry Target sucks for clearance, as does the Coon Rapids store but the Fridley SuperTarget, Crystal, and Brooklyn Center stores are normally not to hard to find clearance items.

Downtown Target is great for clearance though.

Just checked three of the local targets (Wheaton, Cherry Hill and Hyattsville, MD) and no drops. HS, MX vs. ATV & NBA Ballers CO were still $30. GH II (ps2) did drop to $20, but I don't know if this is a new drop or not.
