This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

I found Metroid Prime for Wii for $34.98 at Sterling Heights MI TARGET (there was about 5 copies left) Im going to check the TARGET near my house for a diffference..Gamestop next door sold beat up used copies for $39.99.

I picked up Karaoke Revolution for the 360 two days ago for $12.48. It rang up out of the system and had a $24.98 price tag on it. I went to the register expecting to explain that it should be $12.48, but the guy behind the counter rang it up, asked what 75% off of 50 was, and punched in $12.48. I thought that was awesome.

I don't think I've ever seen that. Still it is easier to call or just get an employee to punch in the number instead of getting them to open the glass case.

I'd rather not ask the employees to scan the game and potentially alert them to a CAG deal that they may hog up themselves. I'll probably use the method I've seen described in other threads, create a sheet of barcodes, and just scan them myself at the price checkers.

Did Rockstar ever fix what was wrong with Bully for the 360? I remember they released a patch that made it worse for some people but never heard anything else.

Saints Row and Bioshock for that cheap...DAMN!

If the game's behind glass, you have to pay for it in electronics, in which case they have to scan it anyways. So I don't understand your logic.

Well lets say they pull it and it scans on clearance for like $10 off. I would prefer to let it ride for awhile longer to get it as cheap as possible. Once the employee sees that it's ringing up on clearance they might go ahead and label them alerting anyone else that comes into the store or watch them so they can get them once the price drops further before I get a crack at them.

legend of zelda phantom hourglass, pokemons pearl/diamond, drawn to life, all the final fantasies listed in this thread, brain age, ninja gaiden, cooking mama 2 were all full price at each store that i went to.

bummer. perhaps these games were incorrectly listed as clearance?

Did you actually have them rung up/scanned or did you just look at the stickers/shelf tags (which are often outdated)?

I wonder why they're not on clearance at the stores near you. I'm not so far away from you (in LA/SFV) and I don't run across this problem. (I have to deal with hoarders and low stock but never with games not being on clearance at all.) When a game's listed as being on clearance in this thread, it should be on clearance at all stores, though the discount may differ. No idea what's going on at your side of the county.

Three Targets in Tulsa, all clearance different games, or the same games at different times. Guild Wars Factions clearanced at one down to $7.98 or so back around April...and at another was still full price as of last week.

I pretty much treat Target clearances as YMMV.

Items are supposed to be marked down on Mondays. The markdowns are usually done in the morning early afternoon, but it really depends on the stores and their managers. I personally usually check back Monday nights or Tuesday to see if any prices dropped lower.

I go to these same stores and find very few clearance games. Most of the time they are long gone before the first markdowns. Only the real TURDS make it to one or 2 markdowns.

No real deals at Sears around here too. Some of the good games do make the first markdowns, but then they mysteriously go back to 19.99 or 29.99 the next month.
