This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

That's not fraud either. It's their own fault some data entry person at corporate didn't enter it correctly in the computer.
 
Picked up 2x Kane and Lynch (PS3) $10 at the Target near the Knoxville TN West Town Mall. There was another one left.

They also had Simpsons (Wii) $20 and Bully (Wii) ~$25.
 
Yeah if you were going to buy 4, 12 packs anyway and the register prompts for the gift card and the cashier tells you, you are entitled to get a gift card are you going to say no you don't want it? I don't think it's fraud.

Anyway not really much of a deal but I saw Madden 08 for the Wii for $12.48

Follow the Target clearance post much? Its hardly a waste to go to Target on a regular basis, there is no better place for B&M significant clearance, and you usually find something, even if it isn't this.

I've posted this before as well, it isn't like you aren't doing regular shopping at Target anyway unless you have something against Target. . .we aren't talking about a store where all they have is games.
 
My local Target had Dragon Ball Z Burst Limit on clearance for $41.98.

Didn't seem like much of a clearance, but it's still cheaper than its $50 price tag.
 
Battle of the Bands (wii) and Simpsons Game (wii) both for $20.98. Some Wii wrestling game still at $14.98 after almost two months, and Boogie still at $19.98 at my store.

Either they just moved it out of the glass case because it's not as expensive as the other games or some yahoo mistaken the new VP for the old one.
 
I checked this out at my target this morning. It rang up as not in the system at the scanner, so I asked the lady marking down clearance items about. She messed around with it for a while and ended up putting an as is sticker on it for 7.96, so I picked it up.
 
I saw one at the spring Hurst target in louisville last night. I checked the box on the price scanner thingy and it said that the upc was not in the system. So I went up to the guest services and told them that other stores had it for 4.96 and he manually out in the price. Nice game for 5 bucks.

You're returning an item you purchased for a lower price claiming you actually paid a higher price for it. It's a fine line, but you're not returning the actual item you purchased for $62 and you're still getting the refund as if you did.

I really liked that game. if it werent for the gamespot BS I think it would of done much better. They really should of put online co op in it though.

You're not understanding what he wants to do. He plans on buying two copies of the game from the same retailer (at different prices), and returning the more expensive one to the same retailer. This allows him to purchase the game at the higher price and play it, and return the unopened lower priced copy at the higher price (if he manages to find a second copy at a lower price). That's not fraud.

Oh no... I hope that controller isn't going away; okay only if its going to replaced by a newer, better model. It is a VERY VERY good controller, and the profiler software is ace. Highly recommended... especially at that price.

on another note, I noticed copies of PS3 - Devil May Cry 4 on the endcaps usually reserved for games under $30... but I didn't scan to verify.

IMHO, it's worth $30. It's a great family/party game, if you enjoy trivia games. I bought it a full price when it released and don't regret it. However, around here, I've seen so many copies that it'll probably drop in price again. Of course, YMMV.

Thanks, I think I'll wait for another price drop. They had so many copies I can't believe they'd actually sell them all for $30.

The only one I was able to get was Condemed 2, for 9.98. They had just started making the markdowns, and the nice employee let me take it out of her basket. Will go back tomorrow and see what else they have.

Perhaps that will take a dip too soon?

I fully understand what he wants to do. He bought a copy for $62, opened it and played it. He knows Target's policy is to not price adjust clearance games, so he is going to go back to Target and buy another copy for $44 knowing full well he doesn't want to keep it and with the intention of taking the receipt from the first game and claiming the game he is returning is the one he paid $62 for. The thing is, it's not the same game and he is essentially getting $18 out of Target which he shouldn't. Admittedly, on the scale of fraud, it's not the same as going into Walmart with a game you bought at Target and asking them to trade it for a different game, but it's still not 100% legit in the sense that if you tell the customer service person truthfully what you are trying to do, they won't let you do it.

They had about 5 copies at my local target in san antonio, tx. when i went to check out it wasnt in the system so i told the lady they were supposed to be on clearance for $5 but she said she needed to verify that. the manager came over and saw that it wasnt coming up in the system and then my cashier told her they were supposed to be on clearance for $5, the manager looked at me like i was some kind of terrorist and immediately got on the phone with the games dept. they didnt answer so the manager went to the back and came to back to the register and said that since none of them were stickered they would all be $49.99 still.

Didn't buy anything since I don't have a 360 and because the clearance item which was there last week wasn't--Bully for the Wii, $24.98 last week. Given the significant number of new clearance items this week, I'm pretty sure Bully would've reached $12.48 today. Time to call around and see if anybody has Bully for under $20...
 
Picked up Puzzle Quest for PSP- $3.74.

Also, Final Fantasy XII for $4.98. Didn't see this listed anywhere else. They had a ridiculous number of these, so I might pick up one or two more on another trip.

Lost Odyssey was $29.98, but I'll wait for it to drop a bit farther before picking it up. What would the price be with one more drop?

That's too bad. You should post phone numbers of the Target stores that do mark it down, then when people get shot down with $49.99 prices, we can have them call the stores that put the clearance price on them! :cry:

I'll be checking my stores tomorrow.
