This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy. If you try be sure to bring a smile and a lollipop.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.
ATTENTION

I just received in the mail a new $5 off $25 coupon I will try to post pics.

Exactly, thats why I am only offering pics and No scans

Coupon madness, eh? I hope the buttholes don't start photoshopping the "toy" part out.
BTW, is this for toys, or is it just any 25 dollar purchase?

You have to realize that that will not prevent anything. If you got the coupon that means thousands of others got it too. Someone will post a scan.
I think Target will be more on the ball with printed coupons from now on. The wording on this coupon sounds too similar to the other $5 off coupon. The Targets in my area still have the "5 off coupon is not being accepted" signs up, eventhough, that coupon was supposed to have expired on 10/01/08. I would still give it a shot, you never know. :D

Essex MD Target had two GTAIV's for $22 at closing last night.

I've been buying up the digital frames for gifts. I bought my wife the $22 7" one for her birthday tomorrow. I loaded it up last night, and it's really pretty nice. I was quite surprised. It has 1GB internal memory, and the resolution is 480xsomething. I loaded up 320 pictures I converted to 640x480 (no sense putting bigger pictures on there since the res is low) and it took up 16MB. I also got 2 of the dual 7" one's for my Moms and Grandmoms for Christmas.

I've also been grabbing the $2.48 NIMH batteries. Those are a steal and great for all of the various peripherals.
If the game was out of stock, wouldn't it show up as "out of system", rather than the price? Should I look around for a copy that might have been misplaced?
No, items that are out of stock will still show up in the system for weeks at a time; though sometimes they are removed 1-2 weeks after the last item has been sold. I've ususally seen them still in the system for *at least* a month if not longer.
Not really game related but my target has two 42" 1080p Olevia lcd tvs for $650.
I saw this as well, but I would probably avoid olevia like the plague. Those TVs have some of the highest return rates of any TVs.

I saw two pretty nice mouse packages on clearance for 9.99 the other day
Mx600 - cordless laser mouse
mx580 - wired mouse (the red one)

Pretty good mark-down from 39.98
So have being around CAG for awhile, I still haven't bothered finding out the answer to a question of mine. Does clearancing pricing only take effect when a Target associate PHYSICALLY scans a game or product? Meaning if an item is not scanned for weeks to come and a drop is suppose to occur, does the store's computer automatically update to this price or will I have to wait until the item is PHYSICALLY scanned?
I know some people have had luck with cool customer service team members (front desk) that will do look ups and make price changes on the spot. Just tell them "hey my buddy said he got this price at XXXXXXX Target, is that right?". Apparently some team members have access to look at the national price changes, and can make those adjustments. I don't think clearance pricing is a priority on the floor all of the time unless they have staff. Summers and Holidays are best.

I have to clarify this is very YMMV. It's worth a shot if you're already at the store. If you try to scan the item yourself it will be the higher price.

I love how several Scene Its and GTAIV have appeared since Monday on Craigslist in my area. $30 for SI and $60 for GTAIV. fucking hoarders.
Are you talking about the Disney Camp Rock guitars? They are "Washburn" brand though (or do they look like Fenders? See, I'm at a complete loss with this stuff!). I saw loads of those and, in fact, have bought 4 of the Electric ones. One was for my kids, the other for their cousin who is really into Camp Rock (my kids could care less and plan on covering the logo with stickers ;)). But then the one we opened last night was cracked on the side so I bought 2 more while out today to be safe - 2 are going back for sure though if not the third. So, can you answer the amp question for me? What should I get for it? I hate to spend way more on the amp than on the guitar but then again it could be used later if/when they get a real electric guitar. But if they don't I don't want to spend too much money on it - that's the point of getting the one on clearance for $25! So, classic CAG dilemma, I suppose, but applied to a non-video game item ;).
Yeah, the Camp Rock ones.

"Mini" practice amps run $30-80. They run in the 1-10 watt range but tend to be a little fuzzy. If I remember right, some BBs had Guitar Hero Practice Amps for $30 in the video game section, but I didn't actually inspect them so I have no idea about their quality. Guitar Center should have a small selection with name brands, which are likely slightly less powerful but probably higher quality.
I don't think clearance pricing is a priority on the floor all of the time unless they have staff. Summers and Holidays are best.
Actually clearance is a big priority for most Targets. They have an entire team of people dedicated to changing prices. That's all they do. The reason it is a priority is because the items that are being clearanced, if they linger in-store, can holdup a new plan-o-gram or display. It's in Target's best interest to get rid of clearance quickly in order to make room for new product.
What may not be a big priority for some Targets is the neatness of the clearance racks.

I saw the Logitech 520 remotes for $50. That's a great price if you don't already have one. If you have a lot of inputs and a separate audio system, this remote will change your life. I picked up the Xbox 360 branded harmony remote a couple years ago for $60 (normally $120) and haven't regretted that decision once.

I'll be stoked if I see these at $25. That's the perfect price for a Holiday/Birthday present.

I completely disagree with you here. I have a 37'' Olevia LCD and it has a MUCH better picture quality than any TV in my house, including my parents 50'' Sony DLP, which was almost 3x as much money. The same goes for my gf's parent's TV, a Samsung DLP no more than 6 months old, and my TV still looks WAY better in HD and standard definition than their by a long shot. Olevia TV's are competitive against any "name brand" TV out there and it's simply ignorant to state otherwise unless you own one of them. So far, every person I know that has an Olevia loves it and wouldn't give it up for anything. They are the best bang for your buck in my opinion, and if I didn't have my 37'' already, I would jump on that 42'' in a heartbeat.

I snagged one of the Logitech 520 remotes yesterday for $50. Took me about 30 minutes to set up and configure for 4 separate components.
I don't know how I went so long without one.
It's a must purchase if you don't already have one.

I checked some DPCI numbers at my target but unfortunately everything is still horridly overpriced, I did find My Word Coach for 13.98 and International Track and Field for 14.98 however I don't think either of those are worth a purchase. I also found these Wii games but didn't get any of them, they were all 20.98: Sega Bass Fishing, Transformers, and House of the Dead.

I also have a DPCI Number for Final Fantasy Tactics A2 for those who have said they have been finding it on sale:

207 02 0485

I didn't see any of Bully for Wii and Advance Wars came up full price when I checked the number at the scanner.

Are there particular places to look for clearance games at Target? I was browsing the videogames section at the one near my work yesterday, and I saw a few copies of Lost Odyssey @ $29.98 in the locked case, but nothing else that was marked clearance at all. The closest they had to a clearance section was a rack of Greatest Hits type games that were all $19.99 (including FF12 and a bunch of other stuff in the OP) with a handful of $14.99 markdowns thrown in. Do they stick clearance games in an endcap display in some other section of the store or something, or do some stores just not really clearance their stuff?

FYI...in the you snooze you looze category
Not sure what happened, but monday afternoon went to target and a bunch of clearance stuff down to 75%...BT headphones, regular headphones, batteries, etc.

Went back yesterday to snag another BT headset and everything was completely gone. Not like "someone came in and bought it all" gone but more like "Target re-zoned and took all the stuff to salvage" because all of the tags were down and none of the stuff could be found...not on the clearance endcaps or anything.

I've seen this before and it always stuck me as odd...they mark a bunch of stuff to the bottom on Monday and then apparently on Tuesday they go through and start pulling it to salavage out.

Point being...if you really want the clearance deals in electronics, better get in there on Monday

I disagree with you; I think that it's a hit or miss with Olevia IMO. We purchased my mother a 37" 720P LCD for her birthday in May. The picture quality was terrible. We returned it and got her a 46" Toshiba REGZA 1080P LCD which was much better than the Olevia.

My wife's best friend also has a 37" Olevia and I absolutely hate the picture quality.

My godbrother has a 47" 1080P LCD Olevia and the picture quality is really good. I've only experienced the video quality of his tv while playing his PS3. I have no idea what the quality of the "over-the-air" HD and standard definition tv programming is like.

So I've seen some bad Olevia's and one good one.

Made a Target Run.

Managed to finally snag that hidden copy of GRID for $14.98 (which is up for trade) :D
Also found one more Logitech Z-10 speaker set for $37.48 (retails for $139.99)

Didn't see much else, though I did notice Mass Effect was on clearance (didn't ask the cashier its price.)

Depends on the store/game. I find most of the clearance games on endcaps, but GTA was still behind a case. I'd suggest just taking a moment to browse their entire video game section. And if you have the time, check prices for some of the games you're looking for.

Stopped by the Target in St. John, IN yesterday. I saw:

Skate: $14.98 (at least 10 copies, 3 at the end cap, the rest on the shelf)
GTA IV SE: $22.48 (4 copies)

nice... those speakers are pretty snazzy, however, the power button on the set i got didn't work so i had to exchange it. all seems fine now!

I picked up a 537H at BF 2006 and it's been fantastic from beginning to end.

The only issue I have with them is that as they went Chap 11 a few months ago, they may have some issues with service and support.

After ranting about the Olevia HDTV's, I forgot to mention what I picked up this morning.

I swear that I've spent more money over the past 3 days than I expected.

My intention was to purchase the Ion Electron Drum Kit. I called my local Target and the clerk in Electronics told me that they had one in stock. When I asked him for the price, he hung up on me. So I called back and said, "Hello I just spoke to someone in electronics who located an item for me. However, we lost our telephone connection before I was unable to get the price for the item." It ended up being the same clerk and he said, "Sure I'll look it up for you." He puts the phone down and I wait on the phone for 8 minutes. He never came back so I hung up. My radar went up and I said to myself, "I bet the drums are only $57 and he wants to keep them for himself!"

So I jumped in my truck and headed for Target, only to have the drums ring up for $229.99. UGH! Such a waste of time. I ended up being late for work.

Here's what I was able to get:
Kodak 1-Hour Charger and Battery 4-pack - $6.24 [057 06 0236]
Eye of Judgment with PS3 Eye - $17.48 [207 24 0098]

Did you complain to a manager? That's some major bull.

Hmm well it seems to be hit or miss I guess. My girlfriend's TV is also an Olevia (27'') and we haven't had any problems with it either. My 37'' can go up to 1080i, but I don't think that should make a difference. As far as your inputs, were your relatives and friends using cable, satellite, over the air, etc? I know for both cable and satellite inputs, my TV as looked amazing. Also, my 360, PS3, and even Wii look great too, all in HD except for the Wii.

However, I didn't know that they filed for chapter 11 so that's a little disconcerting to me. Any idea why? Bad market/economy or just poor management?
Did you complain to a manager? That's some major bull.
I should have complained but I was in such a rush to leave out, that I didn't want to use any more time. I really should have spoke to a manager though.

Yes, I've owned two. So that "you're ignorant" standard line is not going to work, despite being an excellent defense mechanism to make a point!

Olevia is one of the fastest growing brands and has good picture for a "value" brand (statistically almost identical to the vizio brand in every aspect except maker of the panel), but along with being a value brand comes the return rates, which are generally worse than Vizio and Westinghouse.

As far as picture quality is concerned... you're looking at the value brands having lower contrast ratio (1000-1600 v. 2500-15000)... so the argument that they are competitve to same-plane TVs in any other way than price-alone is a bit suspect. That being said, it's not a decision of low-end vs. high-end TVs... because if the issue wasn't money, then the decision would be high-end vs. high-end. I'm not advocating going out to buy one brand, but my personal preference is to avoid Olevia until at LEAST their next round of TVs (they have made some quality changes that is supposedly lowering their return rates). If you do purchase it, I would evaluate an extended warranty that Target provides and heavily consider purchasing an extended warranty for it.

When I set up my mothers Olevia, I used an HDMI cable to her FiOS Cable box. I'm not sure about the setup for my wife's friend. I know they use a Dish (Direct TV or Dish Network) but I don't know whether they had a component setup or an HDMI setup.
Not to be a penis, but can we end all of this "Olevia" discussion. Maybe take it to Deal Discussion?
I agree...sorry about that...I'm done. :)
So, did I miss the part where there is an Olevia on clearance?
Yes
Not really game related but my target has two 42" 1080p Olevia lcd tvs for $650.
I'm super jealous of some of you guys. All of the Target's anywhere around me have all been cleaned out. Is there anyway they will get more games in stock? Or will they clearance new things anytime soon. I'm in the dark here...

Clearance is just that...once gone, gone (unless somthing weird happens like someone returns the odd copy).

There are always new items that come up on clearance...it can come in waves.....they typically go 30-50-75-salvage over a 3-4 week period...

We should make a deadpool on what hits clearance next....although that is tough given the whole Madden SE went on clearance 2 weeks after launch, and some games seem to hang on forever...

I ended up finding a copy of Grid (360) yesterday for $14.98... hooray... now all I need is a copy of Skate (360) and I'd be set. Almost wish I'd jumped on it at $30!

Knoxville TN Turkey Creek location has about 7 GTA4 special edition 360 for 22.84.

Sadly no copies of Grid, the one thing that I really did want.

I stopped by Target on my lunch break hoping to scan GTAIV SE for PS3 this time and hopefully pick it up for $22 and it scanned at the regular $89.99. The 360 version scanned at $22 so that stinks for me since I just have a PS3. I made up my mind that if the Eye of Judgement that was there the other day was still there I'd get it but it was gone. There were a few games that weren't there before but I wasn't interested in them or they weren't cheap enough (House of Dead 2&3 Wii, Nights Wii, MLB 2k9 PS3, SmackdownvsRaw PS3 and God of War for $4.98 which I'd be all over if I didn't already have it.

Maybe I'll try another Target around me.

And here I am waiting for Skate to hit $9.98 at my store.

The Target in Jersey City had a TON of these, but at $19 and change, so I passed.
Was that recently? or before it was ymmv for 9.98? cuz i might go over there to check if it dipped in price. thx

Also i think there was 1 ps3 GTA4 SE left in menlo,nj didn't check the price thou if anybody is looking around there.

That's a good deal but you may want to look at the contrast ratio I've played some games on a 1,500:1 in contrast ratio while compared to 6000:1 there's a big difference for the darker hard to see portions. With Black Friday coming up you may find better deals if not before the end of the year there are usually big sales.

Hit Target in Glendale Heights IL this morning. I have been eyeing that Ion drum kit at $160 for my son and the GTA box set, they had 6 in the case and these have been there for a month atleast. All were gone when I got there at 8:00am. I went in on Monday and lastnight on my way home from work and nothing had been marked down from the last clearence prices, GTA4 was at 44. Today I put the code in for GTA and the drum kit and both popped up at 22 for GTA and 52 I think for the drums.

Somebody either got them lastnight when they were putting the lower prices on them or they just pulled them from the shelf, I hate both of my Targets finding clearence stuff is so hit or miss it sucks.
