This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy. If you try be sure to bring a smile and a lollipop.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

checked two different Targets here locally and one didn't have any clearance games and the other only had an NBA 08 360 game. It was locked in the case so I couldn't see which one.

I was hoping to stumble across a Madden 08 or NCAA 08 for 360 since I am itching to play football and 2k5 isn't cutting it anymore. I always forget to check this thread so no luck.

have you even played dead space yet? I would be very surprised if it went on clearance soon.

OR it was bought sometime during the week OR the employees bought em up before you could get there OR when u got there on Monday they didn't finish up their changes...

Considering that all four copies had been there for about 3 weeks with no movement at $44, I doubt that they sold for that price in the four days that I hadn't been in there from wednesday to saturday.

Employees buying them up before I could seems logical... except I went in on sunday. Sunday is the day before markdowns at most Targets. And I had been there on wednesday of that week (well after they were supposed to have done markdowns for the previous week) when they were still $44.

And, like I said. I got there on wednesday of last week. Plenty of time for them to make their weekly changes if it's normally on monday.

Did you check the CD/ DVD/ books area? All my local Targets have moved their clearance games into this area rather than and endcap near electronics. They also still have some red stickered behind the glass case as well.

Yup, our local Targets have been doing this for the past few weeks. This sucks mainly for the fact that it's a pain in the ass to have an employee unlock the case to do a price check.

Very true, but it is still much easier when you see something you want. At least in my area, it can be so hit and miss on getting an employee with the right keys to get what you want out.

Target is not nearly as bad as Sears though. I have just left the store while waiting for someone to find a magical set of keys that apparently do not exist. I hope they don't wonder why their videogame stock never sells..
