This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy. If you try be sure to bring a smile and a lollipop.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

How funny that is the exact one and I think it was Coolsprings. She said it was out of site on a bottom shelf, but she knew I wanted it because the Clarksville store has one still priced $34.98. Maybe if it lasts for more drops I can score the one here and we can work a trade. I scored a 120 GB HD for $90, a TON of AAA batterires for $1.32 per 6 pack, a PSP battery for $17.XX, and a PSP battery charger for $24.XX yesterday.

Other than the AAA batteries, I'm not 100% sure I want to keep any of it, but I figured I would grab it before someone else did.

I love Targets 90 day return policy if I decide I don't need it.

I also saw HSG2 and FF:War of the Lions for $15 and $10, but didn't bite. Not sure why?
 
the 90 day return policy is great but since these items are on clearance they will eventually fall out of the system and when they do, they will not accept returns for them. :x

uh yes they will take returns until the date on your receipt (90 days) period
 
The Steelyard Commons Target in Cleveland had a lot of basic titles on clearance, ie, Golden Axe (PS3), Ninja Gaiden II, Lego Indiana Jones, Pure (all Xbox 360), but the game prices were still at the higher prices and not yet really decently priced. Didn't see any 120gb hard drives there. Might be worth checking back there in a week or two for any drops.

Returns is good within 90 days of course, now if your trying to repurchase it and it doesn't ring up in the system then you just have to make the return.
 
Knowing my luck those stashed games will never drop because my store will be one of those that they have to physically scan it to adjust the price.

Target started off with like 10 copies of both of the games I stashed. I watched them for a couple weeks and they dwindled down to like two. I didn't want to miss out again so I hid one for myself. I figure that between the hoarder that hits my store on Mondays (I've seen here running around the store with a cart full of clearance crap ranging from baby clothes to electronics) and the Christmas shoppers that will be invading shortly this was my only chance.

OK enough off topic... I saw Hot Shots Golf at a store near me hi 50% off. I loved the original so I've got to pick this one up at some point.

Also, this is optional, but can some of the regular Target players like myself do a favor? Just pick one (or more if you want) random item on the list that's recently been added that does not have a DPCI for the next time you head out. Any game, just as long as you know it's easy for you to get. I appreciate all of the numbers people post. I usually grab five or so random DPCI numbers when I head out to Target, so that the list can be complete.

And thanks for your support Drums! In fact, to make it easier on everyone, all you really have to do is grab the last four digits. Those are the only unique numbers in a set of DPCI numbers-- I can reference the OP to see what the first five digits would be the particular system, or if it is an accessory. But hopefully this will be a moot point because I'm seeing more and more numbers on Target.com.

360 display case is now down to one area. It used to be a two-case deal, but they got rid of one and added more accessories. Did not see the 120GB on clearance, though.

I don't know what your store's layouts are now, but seeing this one down to one case kinda makes me want to check this one out even more often than my local one. Surely there will be enough releases to occupy two cases, wouldn't you think?

And the Civilzations have mysteriously disappeared. Go figure.

Ranged up as 19.99 but was manually priced after I showed him the price on stock.

Yes, looks as though they might be retooling the game cases, word from corporate I would assume. They had about 5 floor workers changing the displays around at the Target I visited today.
 
I too saw this. Does this mean Target will be ordering less new releases? If someone were to compile a list of the clearance done in the last month, I think a reasonable hypothesis would be, "Yes."

A friend of mine bought 2 120gb hard drives on sale for $86 - and the kicker is the inept employee at the store accidentally didn't ring one of them up. Two 120gb hard drives for $86 is INSANE and awesome. :applause:

They are retooling all the video game sections in the local targets here in Pittsburgh. Mostly cutting back a glassed display case or two to fit RB/GH bundles right on the shelves. That means alot of games in the clearance section at 25% off or less. Most of them are a cluster-eff too, with too many games crammed onto one end-cap. It also seems that they have decided to take alot of games and just list them as general 360/PS3/Wii games and then scan at $29.99 instead of following the standard %off drops.

Has anyone seen the 120gb HDD for under $90 yet?
 
I went to two Targets in Columbus, OH one didn't have any 120GB drives and the other only scanned at $125. I really want one before the NXE comes out.
 
Go back on Monday or Tuesday, and it should be $89.98. Regular Targets usually run 2-3 weeks behind Super Targets.

For anyone in Orange, CA - the Target at Tustin/Meats pulled all of their clearance items out of the cases. They're very well organized, though they appear to be a drop or so behind most others (No More Heroes is still $20.98).
 
I've checked my Target this entire week to see if they dropped the price on the hard drive, but it's still holding at $125. I'll wait until Monday to check again.
 
In response to the people commenting on the overhaul of the game section, it will mean more games for some, less for others. In a full scenario, the Wii gets one extra glass case for games (total of 3), and three bays for acc's and "big box" games. DS stays the same, and everyone else loses cases. Im not sure how this will affect the cases though? With more room available, will the Wii be slower to clearout titles?

p.s...if anyone in LA/LB area knows of a location with cheap 120GB HDD, send me a message, thanks!!!!

It seems they moved all the budget wii games from the extra budget aisle into the case at my store. So, this should free up more space on the cheap aisle for older PS3 & 360 games ($20 - $30). Perhaps they will be focusing on getting more older games in since everybody waits for prices to drop anyway.

Same thing happened at my Target, however I did notice they seem to have added a lot more games to the endcaps where most of the Greatest Hits games are.

Oddly enough my store added a bunch of Civ Rev's after being out for a long time. They did add a bunch of stuff to clearance but nothing not already noted, most of them at $41.98.

I'm really not sure if discounted prices count as a price adjust. I think they only adjust for sale/advertised prices. I could be wrong though. I've never tried it myself.

Target's official policy is NOT to match clearance prices. The best you can hope for is a return/rebuy which will probably need the game. That said, the further "official" policy is you can't re-buy until an item goes back out on the floor.

Bring the game and expect a bit of a hassle to PM unless you get a cashier who doesn't really care.

It cracks me up that Target is clearancing so many titles that have just been released in the last month or so but they're just getting around to putting a title like EBA on clearance that has been out forever.

Did find a copy of FF:Tactics on the PSP that I could not pass up for $9.98 but I need a PSP to play it ;)
 
Are the stores that are reconfiguring the videogames department shipping the 120GB hard drives back or something? I just drove from Kentucky to Texas and every Target that had redesigned the section no longer had hard drives. I specifically watched it happen in my store in Lexington. They had two of the drives priced at $125.xx. The next morning they redesigned and both drives never were put back out anywhere.
