This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy. If you try be sure to bring a smile and a lollipop.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I just want to give everybody a heads up about Black Friday and how the clearance sections will be wiped out after this weekend. Shoppers will be picking up anything that looks like a deal and this includes games and such with the little red stickers on them. Don't be surprised when crappy games like Golden Axe stickered at $42 are gone next monday. There is a way around this though...buy them now. Target's return policy gives you 90 days and no hassle if you keep everything sealed. I've got two copies of Ratchet and Clank sitting on my desk so I can return them next week. This also works better than hiding them in the store. So if there is a special deal/game that you are really itching to get, you better do it now or it might not be there for next monday.

Heading to SuperTarget tomorrow...not sure I can justify a trip out to Gainesville for a game" by Zodiac

The store across from Manassass airport...that is your store right? I took my kids to the Air and Space Museum near the Dulles airport so I stopped at a couple of Targets on the way. Gainesville is too far for you to travel...I drove 3 hours roundtrip to get to the Air and Space!!! Good luck.

If I purchase a game, and it goes down dramatically, can I get refunded for this amount? My question is because the game sold out very recently at the cheaper price. Is it still even in the system then? I just want that $15 back, and to keep the game! lol

You are more than likely out of luck. Target won't adjust clearance prices once you bought. You might get super lucky with a CSR who doesn't care but odds are you're stuck with the price you paid.

Nothing much else dropped. Most games held at 50% off and I doubt they will make it past Black Friday. Found some 360 HDs but they are at 30% or 50% off. I was hoping to pick one up at 75%. If I miss out, I will just get a used one at GS (hopefully with an accessory coupon).

Guess that means I should go grab that $30 copy of Siilent Hill that I've been waiting on.

Surprising because usually if a store is behind other stores in terms of price drops, usually they are only 1 drop behind, not 2. At the one on Peterson Ave. in the city they had a couple copies of Uncharted for $29.98 and one of Civilization Revolution (PS3) for the same price. They also had about 4 GTA special editions--all still at $89 (grrr).

Only the 360 version of the GTA 4 SE were clearanced, not PS3.

Thats how my Target is. Most of the games are only 30% off. The last two months it has been hard for me to find anything at 75% off like I used to. People are buying the games at the minimum discount. I have become even more cheap in my ways and will only buy at 75% or more off and MAYBE, sometimes at 50% off. Games are not worth more than that to me anymore unless they are good collector/limited editions. I havent bought a clearance game in like two months, but it saves me money. My backlog is so full, so more power to the moms that buy these games at 30% off.

The section was a wreck too. So yes, YMMV is still very much in effect. With all the scores reported I thought Target may have pushing to clear those before shopping kicks up on Friday but I guess not

Well I stopped by the Matteson IL store on my lunch break. They had ONE 120 GB hard drive left, but it was priced at $44.98! Snatched it up with a quickness. Now I need to take that one back to Circuit City and get the $99 back I shelled out for one last week.
