This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy. If you try be sure to bring a smile and a lollipop.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.
I think Transformers was $13, because that what I've seen yesterday (here in East Florida). Also I bought Civ for $29.98 (ya I know some of you seen it for 14.98, but Florida is behind on everything), they had Silent Hill for $29.98, Conan Hyborian for $9.98, about 10-11 DMC4's for $35.
i wonder if DMC4 didn't sell so well or what. i've seen about 4 targets that had over 10 copies at each store. i know i want that game when it drops to 15

Word is that capcom lost money on dmc4, and the pc version they released to make up some of the cash lost MORE money (because pc users savvy enough to want dmc4 are savvy enough to pirate it)

I forgot to post this when I found it on 11/24, but I picked up FFT for PSP at the Towson, MD Target for $4.98. It was a black label copy. (207200293)
My local Target (Santa Rosa, CA) had 6 copies of Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (PS3) for $19.99, 3 copies of Pirates of the Caribean (360 & PS3) for 16.99 and 4 copies of Transformers (PS3) for $11 or $13. It seems that the store doesn't keep anything good in the clearance. I did find some other games hidden behind other games which is really pathetic.
You should try to Novato one... it's even worse - there aren't ANY games on clearance as of last night.

World In Conflict (PC) was down to $7 and change today. I wish i hadn't picked it up last week for $15. Gears of War was still 10, Rainbow 6 vegas 2 (36) was still 20.
Which no one fucking reads...and furthermore, there are precious few CAGs that will hook up others. I friggin' lost money (just wanted to break even!) on a couple trades earlier this year helping people, hoping someone would return the favor later. Fat chance...
Not to take away from the Target thread but you can get this on gamefly for like $12 or so.

Swung by the Cleveland West Target and they have similiar titles for the 360 like Pure and Lego Indy as the other local Target stores with the same old "M-E-H" prices on them of $29.98 and $24.98. Ugh. I guess we'll have to go another week of waiting for some hopeful price drops.

Picked up Civ Revolution for 14.98 and also spotted about 6-10 GTA IV Ps3 Special Editions at 62.98. Ill pick one up next week if they are still there.

mine had a half dozen too, odd didnt have them before

YES, Hiding a game paid off for the second time. I picked up BF Bad Company for $12 and Lego Indy for the same. If anyone is interested in a Lego Indy, mine still has like 3.

Wow, that's really sad. I guess there won't be a DMC5. And too bad they took forever to release DMC4 on PC. Even sadder that pirating the game may have been the nail in the coffin.

Scored a copy of both Civ Rev and Battlefield:BC for 14.98/12.48 respectively. Also saw about 30 copies of Devil May Cry 360 for 14.98 at the Costa Mesa Target.

DMC4 is really cheap on achievement points. I beat it, and I think I barely got 100 points.

Not a bad title...probably the best in the series next to DMC1. I just think the genre is getting a little old, hence the sales were poor.

For the folks in SE Pennsylvania, the Target Greatland in/near Plymouth Meeting still has a couple o' 120 GB HDDs marked at $125. The scanners there don't have a number pad and the pegs were locked, FWIW. I was surprised to see a store still have them (I got one elsewhere for $90 nearly a month ago).

Saw World in Conflict for $7.50 at a couple locations and Devil May Cry for $15, but little else changed.

I think Gears of War is the first clearanced title that I NEVER saw at any price cut.
DMC4 is really cheap on achievement points. I beat it, and I think I barely got 100 points.
Hah yeah I haven't seen many people with 1000 points.

Well today I saw PURE but it was still $29.98. No Silent Hill or NG2 anywhere in sight. You guys are lucky to find it at $15 they would never last at the Targets here.

Yeah my target had 6 copies of Pure but still 29.99. They had the same titles as everyone else too except higher prices such as DMC4 and Spiderman 3. I was surprised to see some collector's edition of Madden for 360 but they still wanted 89.99.
What was the clearance price? I would pick this up if it drops to $25 or less. I know that my local Target has 2 copies in the normal discount aisle.
29.99 I think I'll wait till it drops more.

My local Target still has DMC4, Ninja Gaiden 2, and Civilization Revolution for $41.98 each! It seems like almost everyone else's Targets has lowered them to $14.98.

What are the chances of a price drop from $41.98 to $14.98? Does that big of a drop ever happen? They've been sitting at $41.98 for 3 - 4 weeks now.

207 00 0900 Sony PSP 2000 battery $8.74
207 00 0471 Sony 5V AC Adaptor $7.48
207 00 0887 3rd party PSP AC/DC Power Adaptor $4.82

207 00 0897 Psyclone PS2 Memory Kit $9.98 (controller, 16 MB card & Component Video Cable (my reason for purchase)) $9.98

207 20 0270 PSP Naruto Ultimate Ninja Heroes $4.98

UMD "21" movie $4.98

and my best find -
057 15 0021 Memorex Portable 8.4" Swiveling Widescreen DVD Player $24.98 (75%)

Grabbed what looked like the last copy of Civ Revolution for 14.98 at the target in Fullerton, CA. Had a hell of a time finding it... It wasn't on the shelf, nor was it in the clearance section.

Just as I was about to leave, however, I noticed a lone copy sitting behind the counter of the electronics section... Turns out it had been misplaced (hidden?) and the clerk was going to put it back on the shelf. The sticker read $30, but came up $14.98 when I had the guy scan it.

And now a question: Are price drops on clearance items pretty much universal to all Targets? I know I'm seeing a lot of "Still XX.XX dollars at my store" posts, but as I learned today, just because a game is marked at a certain price doesn't mean it's actually that much.

I ask mainly because I want DMC4 for 15 bucks, and some of you are reporting it's out there at that price, but both of my local stores still list it as $30... In retrospect, I shoulda had the clerk scan that one too.

In my case I took a copy to one of the price scanners and it still showed Pure as 29.99. The game was marked 41.98.

No, prices aren't universal at all Targets. I printed out various UPC barcodes of the games and I take them to various stores near me to see if there are any price drops so I don't have to bother scanning all the games. It's just sheer luck that all my local Targets have the same games for the same prices. Now we play the waiting game...

i feel your pain. I don't think it will go from $41 to $14 in one day but gradually $41 > $29 > $14 > and so on.

My vote would actually be for Devil May Cry 3 as the best DMC game. Incredibly underrated in general.

DMC4's problem was that while it alienated some of the more hardcore fans by watering down some action game mechanics of the older game, making them easier with the introduction of Nero, the game was still difficult enough to cause frustration with a lot of casual players. The fighting mechanics are still deep, just doesn't feel as rewarding for some reason.

That, and the story/bosses in 3 were just plain better... and DMC is very boss-centric.

Do yourselves a favor and pick up DMC4 on clearance. If you like it (I do think it's a terrific game) and enjoy a challenge (can beat it on Son of Sparda easily), then go try Devil May Cry 3 and you won't be disappointed (but don't pick up the ultra buggy PC version of DMC3... it's a mess).

GuardianE: When you say Devil May cry 3, you need to specify Special Edition.
The original is great enough, but Turbo Mode and Nero in the SE are absolutely outsanding additions.

Also, I'm not sure if the mechanics are watered down in 4, exactly. Devil Bringer makes things easier, yeah, but the Exceed system is pretty cool and still requires skill. My main issue is that you only play as Dante for a handful of levels, which are re-used. And yeah, the boss encounters pale in comparison to 3.

dmc4 was my first in the series, i kinda liked it, but playing through as one character then coming back as another was odd, when replaying so much of it

if anybody is able to pick up civ rev (360) from their store for me I'd be greatful and pay ya (obviously lol). My store had 2 when it was 29.99 but now this week they were gone so I'm guessing somebody bought them up.

Are you guys getting civ rev for ps3 also, or is it just for the 360? If anyone can get one for ps3, I'd be interested in taking it off your hands :)

if the price is now 29.99, it is no longer a clearance item and will stay that price forever until it is clearanced again. i had the same thing happen to me with frontlines. it was 41.98 clearanced and now they have a generic 29.99 tag on it now. it sucks.

Ah yes, I'd forgotten. I own both the regular and special edition. For hardcore gaming enthusiasts, I love the regular edition only because you can choose to play through with a fresh, unupgraded Dante on U.S. Normal/Japanese Hard. This sort of makes it a nice challenge for some people. The Special Edition made things easier for people by implementing the Japanese standard of difficulty settings and the option to use Gold Orbs instead of Yellow Orbs.

The difficulty break down is as follows:
DMC3/ DMC3:SE
None/ Easy
Easy/ Normal
Normal/ Hard
Hard/ Very Hard
Dante Must Die/ Dante Must Die
Heaven or Hell/Heaven or Hell

Gold Orb setting in the SE would allow you to resurrect on the spot if you had one and allowed for infinite continues at checkpoints. The regular edition only had Yellow Orbs, where you could use a Yellow Orb to continue, but otherwise had to restart the entire level (no checkpoints). And the addition of Bloody Palace allowed people to grind/level easier. This made the game much much easier in the SE, for better or worse.

For purists, I recommend a playthrough on the regular edition, if you're itching for a challenge. But from a technical standpoint, the Special Edition is better because it has more content (Movie Viewer, Vergil unlockable, Bloody Palace Survival Mode, Turbo Mode, and the same difficulty modes... just more fairly distributed).

For a real DMC3 experience, I'd suggest Yellow Orb, Hard, Regular Speed, but really you can't go wrong with whatever way you play this awesome game.

I actually think it rang up at 29.98 since it still had the red clearance sticker on it and was located on the clearance endcap. I think I just mistyped. If not oh well, I have yet to ever find a clearance deal I wanted anyway so no big loss.

DMC4 has a really good PC version though.

While I see where you're coming from, I think you're selling DMC4 short. Nero's grabbing does reduce his moveset, but the bread and butter of DMC combat is still there in full force. Quickly dodging about, avoiding the enemies' predictable but still quite potent attacks. The only thing that Nero really loses is the combo variety that Dante and DMC3 Dante has. Dante himself still has this in spades in DMC4, especially with Style switching and no weapon limitations. But, again, with DMC, the dodging and the defense for the counter attack is the most important part.

Hell, even if you turned it down to God Hand level simplicity with just one attack button combo, you'd still have a fast-paced, crazy hard game. But, of course, you wouldn't have as much fun with it.

For hardcore gaming enthusiasts, I love the regular edition only because you can choose to play through with a fresh, unupgraded Dante on U.S. Normal/Japanese Hard.
You can actually do that in DMC3:SE. There's a push-button code to unlock all difficulties. Hell, you could do DMD as a fresh Dante if you wanted.

I think DMC3:SE is a far superior game. Being able to opt for infinite continues removes that artificial difficulty. If a DMC boss doesn't kill you six or seven times while you try to figure him out, that's CAPCOM's fault. Infinite continues doesn't punish you with arbitrary mission restarting if you can't figure it out. Of course, I never really used my gold orbs. The normal difficulty in SE is just far, far better balanced while still being brutally difficult.

In fact, I would say that DMC4 was too easy on its normal difficulty and at least needed an option to just start one notch higher. Still, I think both games are far superior to Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2, but that's just me.
29.99 I think I'll wait till it drops more.
That's been the normal price for the Warhawk set with the Bluetooth headset at my local Target for some time (at least 6 weeks or so). Since it ends in ".99", I don't think it is yet a clearance item.

Thanks for the feedback.

I know the PC version is good for DMC4. I specified DMC3. DMC3 port wasn't done by Capcom. ;) That and DMC4 was specifically built with the PC in mind.

Here's my problem with Nero's Devil Bringer- stun properties. You can stun practically any enemy in the game with a simple button press. It really does make the gameplay that much easier. It's not to say that the combat isn't very deep because it is. I just mean that you don't have to learn as much like you did in DMC3. You can get through by abusing the Devil Bringer, even on DMD mode. In DMC3, you HAD to adapt or you'd get destroyed.

I played and beat DMC3 Regular before the SE came out and the brutal difficulty was one of the things that made me so intrigued by it. Despite it being frustrating at times, I found myself wanting more... and ultimately found it much more rewarding. The problem? Not everyone's willing to put up with dying so much to get that level of satisfaction, which leaves DMC3 with less sales. I disagree with you about the Gold Orbs, but maybe that's just me.

DMC4 was too easy on the initial setting, but for action newbies it's perfect. Because I've played over 300 hours of DMC3, it didn't sit well with me and I wasn't as satisfied with it from a challenge standpoint. But that's okay if more people enjoy DMC because of it.

I find the game more rewarding that Ninja Gaiden in a way, as well, but I still love NG 1 (1, Sigma, and Black). NG2 was a travesty in terms of real combat difficulty and turned into a less precise slaughterfest tactics with difficulty stemming from cheap blind shots... but I digress.

Hey, if anyones willing to part with a Ninja Gaiden 2 at the $14-15 price point, I'd be willing to partake on that action. They poofed all in my area. :(

Yesterday I found 3 GTA IV SE for PS3 at 62.98 and then about 50 each of DMC4 for 360 at 29.98 and Pirates for PS3 at I think 19.98. Seriously where the hell and why would any store have 50+ copies of Pirates of Carribean
Are you guys getting civ rev for ps3 also, or is it just for the 360? If anyone can get one for ps3, I'd be interested in taking it off your hands :)
Civ Rev PS3 is on clearance but I don't think it has been reported lower than $29.98. In my area, it is still at $41.98

Picked up Golden Axe PS3 for $14.98 and In Living Color Season 1 dvd for $4.96 (as-is).

I finally found BF:Bad Company but it was $24.98.

Pure and Ninja II still 29.98 in my area. But at least the location I have my eyes on has more than one copy of each. Hopefully I can get in early next Monday and pick them up if they drop to 14.98.
Actually, I assumed the clearance end caps would be swept up by the Black Friday shoppers.
