This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy. If you try be sure to bring a smile and a lollipop.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Since Target employees generally buy the clearance stuff before anyone else has the chance - I'd say hiding stuff is fair game, as long as you don't hide every copy of some title. If you're doing it to eventually get the game for yourself and play it - I think that's alright.

Not trying to be an ass, but I'd like to know why security hasn't done anything about this... I know the guy isn't buying the ottoman with the games in it, but wouldn't these actions raise suspicion?

I like to hide my Target employees under the endcaps so they can't buy the clearance games that I am entitled to by birthright.

I'm making a run this afternoon to see if there were any drops this week at my store that is slow to mark things down.

Devil May Cry 4 Xbox 360 (13 freaking copies) 14.98

These games just suddenly just appeared in the clearance section. I usaully check twice a week at Target to see if there is anything that change.

Found it in a clearance end cap. I don't think it was near the razors, but it may have been. I do know that it's a newer (larger) store, and the isle is across from Pet products. It was not by the pharmacy area.

Whether it be at Gamestop or Target, hoarders aren't necessarily fighting other gamers so much as employees. If you think Customer Service has customers' interests at heart, you're living in another country.

On the other hand, I can understand The Enemy's mindset: What are the perks of working in a department store? If you haven't got first crack at sale merchandise, then what exactly is getting you out of bed?

Still, buying all the stock at sale prices and then trying to scalp everyone else isn't capitalism, it's parasitism. If I were the company making the games, I'd want them to be played, not rot in a vulture's vault.

On lighter news, I did a rare return and rebuy. I had purchased the 360 wireless wheel for 49.98, but thought I'd try my luck. I returned it and noted to the clerk that a repricing ticket had printed from the receipt printer at Guest Service. I asked if the wheel was cheaper and thought I had gotten the best price. She said, "Yep, it is lower. You can rebuy it, but it'd have to be in a checkout lane." I pretended to ponder while she finished the refund. After she was done, she asked, "Did you want to rebuy it?" I said, "Sure." She said, "All right then, but you have to go over there and do it because if you do it here it's considered FRAUD.

I'm not sure if that was meant to drive daggers into my heart or not.

Dunno why it's considered FRAUD. TRU lets you do this with no problems at customer service

Anyway, updated the OP, remember go crazy with the DPCI numbers next time we're out. Look at the list and dedicate yourself to get one missing DPCI number. We need all of the DPCI numbers so Skynet can get stronger.

Found 1 copy of Uncharted at Grossmont, still locked at $41.98. First time I've ever been to that Target and their clearance section is just a big pile of junk. Tons of Pirates there with Guitar Hero Aerosmith/2 in the mix. Saw that they had the price checkers that let you input DCPI numbers and checked the stockroom for you too, a new one for me.

Every single Target employee takes a very long and tedious class on law followed by several tests to certify them for the TARGET RETURN COUNTER. Just another misinformed employee, that's all.

Thats interesting. I returned Silent Hill PS3 when it dropped to $41.98 after Id paid retail..I took it back and told her; 'This dropped and Ive seen it online.'.she immediately cut into my breath and said "ONLINE PRICES are not valid instore"

Some prices finally dropped at the Phillipsburg, NJ store. I noticed Ratchet & Clank for PS3 is now $30. I picked up Ninja Gaiden 2 for $15 and passed on everything else. I think DMC4 was also marked down, but I beat that one a while ago.

Now I'm pondering whether I even want to frustrate myself with Ninja Gaiden difficulty. lol.

My local Parma Target had Medal of Honor for $13.98 (360) and a few DMC4 for $14.98, and one copy of Pure as well for $14.98. Oddly a clearance title, Kung Fu Panda (360) went from $29.98 to $29.99 - so it looks like it's not going to be dropping in price.

Nothing you can do but wait. If you have another Target near you and they had the game at a lower price, you can try to do a return and rebuy (YMMV).
